HA HA HA

I would never bet on them over current DC. But they put out some pretty swell books.

Current DC lasts until they fuck up. Then it's "I can't believe they're doing this!". Marvel was great in 2012 with Marvel NOW. Then one day they were suddenly downgraded to post-Secret Wars Marvel.

Valiant's not fucked up yet so even though I love DC way more they've earned more good will.

Started The Manhattan Project. It'd be great if Hickman did stories that weren't dark all the time lol.

Yeah, the worst thing Valiant's done is put out some "okay" books, which every publisher does. Speaking of, I just caught up on Valiant's summer event "Faith and the Future Force", and all I was left with was a feeling of "meh".

Finally cracked into Rebirth, thoroughly enjoying all of it except for Flash (picked up the first two vol's, dropping it now). Favorite is Superman and AC so far (mostly because it's a supplemental book to imo, the most interesting Rebirth storyline), WW is a mixed bag, enjoying the origin issues more than the current day (I think it may have read better with vol 2 first, then vol 1), Venditti's GL is surprisingly good, having disliked his original run, Lanterns was OK (love Jessica, quickly becoming my favorite GL after Guy), Aquaman & Titans are good, surprisingly wasn't hooked onto Deathstroke despite the recommendations, going to pick up vol 2 and see if it clicks.

Dunno what I'll replace Flash with, I'm not a huge fan of Batman or bat books, but I may give Redhood a try. New Superman & Green Arrow are also contenders. Haven't read up on Supergirl too much.

Superman is a good choice. Action I only keep up with for continuity stuff. Lanterns gets better, Titans and Teen Titans are in a good place now.

I'd say grab Green Arrow, Nightwing, Super Sons, and Detective Comics. New Super Man is solid as well.
Also my input:
Batgirl and the Birds of Prey is good fun
Super Sons as well
Red Hood and the Outlaws is actually pretty good.
Supergirl is pretty good

So I'd recommend those along with what MH listed

Well there was the Shadowman books
Future Force has been repetitive so far it's like they're doing the same thing every issue

Bring heroes to fight the robot, die, bring more heroes to fight, die

Rinse and repeat

I think the one thing that can unite all of ComicsGAF, beyond the Valiant Vitriol, beyond the Marvel Menace, beyond the DC Detractors and the Dark Horse Dissers....

... is that Zenescope is total trash, right? Surely that can be our Great Unifier?

Some people here buy Zenescope comics. They are among us.

Last Jedi.

I hope it ends with a heel turn.

FN-2187 HAS EXPLODED
REY BRINGIN THE REFEREE IN, THAT'S THE RIGHT THING
WAIT A MINUTE, WAIT, REY JUST COST TEAM RESISTANCE THE MATCH
ARE YOU TELLIN' ME THE LAST JEDI IS NOW IN THE ENEMY CAMP???? WHY GODDAMNIT???

I'm very tired. It's 3.30am here. Thankfully I am on holidays right now.

Yeah. I know that's (hopefully) intentional for some time shannenigans plot, but you don't need more then two issues to set that up.

I don't know what the heck a Zenoscope is, but will report in a few hours after reading their books.

Chuck Dixon wrote a Zenescope gender-flipped Cheesecake Van Helsing series that got adapted into a truly awful TV show and now he's working for Alt-Reich Comics.

All you need to know about Zenescope

You know what I did not know? I did not realize Zenescope was an actual universe. Like, I just thought they were cheesecake retellings of fairy tales but had no idea they were basically tied together into this massive ongoing story.

Quite impressive, even if it's not well executed.

I admit, I bought the first few volumes of Grimm Fairy Tales during this sale. I was curious and needed to know. I actually really dig the stories and their unique(and rather dark) spin on these classics. The suggestive T&A that lines each cover is really seemingly just to sell books and not quite representative of the material(ok, well all women are drawn as such) but it's more about providing life lessons that relate these tales to difficult situations in reality. There has been zero softcore porn or titillation so far.

Not really new ground when you think of American McGee or the many similar approaches to adult-spins on children tales. It actually works pretty well here and seemingly eventually expands into some FABLES-like approach of bridging the the fairy tale world and our own. A decade long saga that seemingly keeps running, which kind of intrigues me. It's a guilty pleasure so far.

It is a shame about those covers.

Fuuuuuuccc........well this kind of puts a wrinkle in my desire to read anymore.

So, do the women of Gotham just have consistently decent to amazing books? I've realized that I've been reading a lot of these books, though not with the intention of reading a whole bunch of female Gotham hero books.

So I’m looking at CMX’s DC sale and Woah woah woah there was a Batman, starman & hellboy mini? Why am I just learning about this now?!

Donnie I blame you

Do they finally have the singles up digitally for that? Migs drawing Batman and Starman was great 😍😍😍

Holla,

Just been catching up on the last twenty odd pages worth of thread. Some great commisions there from NY. Especially love that Jen Bartel Persophene you got Messi, I think I saw that on her twitter, didn't know it was meant for you :) Also that Ventriloquist by Riley Rossmo you got MG is pretty cool.

From last weeks issues, didn't get too much, but from what I got:

Black Panther : Was okay, still worth a read but this second season story just hasn't gripped me as much as the first, though I have enjoyed any Storm/T'Chall interactions Coates writes.

Dawnbreaker : Like the other two evil batmen issues so far this was fun again, with some great art, I think like some people here I was trying to figure out some of the ring logic that they were stretching out to the max, but still was a cool new character. After all these build up issues and set up of fights (Barry vs Red Death, Hal vs Dawnbreaker) I want to see these guys actually go at it and start fighting. Got to wait for the next lot of tie ins for that though I guess :(

Green Arrow (Last Part Of Metal/Gotham Resistance) - I thought this was okay and set up a few little bits that are going to carry on into the main Metal series, but the ending did make the tie in story seem a little throw away and the different art style made it stand out from the other 3 issues in a bad way in my opinion. The art wasn't bad on its own as such just not as good as the other Gotham Resistance issues and made it stand out like a sore thumb when reading the 4 parts together.

Robbie Thompson should be given America. Four fucking pages and he encompasses everything that I like about the character.
