Cyberpunk 2077 Coming to Mac Early Next Year

jshackles

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.

Cyberpunk 2077 and its spy-thriller expansion Phantom Liberty will be coming to Mac. Taking full advantage of Apple silicon and advanced technologies of Metal, the world of the dark future is available to Mac gamers for the very first time. Players can enjoy advanced features like path tracing, frame generation, and built-in Spatial Audio for even more immersive gameplay and stunning visuals.

Available early next year on Macs with Apple silicon, the Ultimate Edition will launch on the Mac App Store and Steam — with existing PC Steam purchases of the game carrying over to the Mac.

Now do PS5 Pro

As someone who owned a mac book pro once, I am really happy for Mac users to get a big game like this. Wasn't my cup of tea but happy to see it supported.

This is awesome to see, it's an ambitious project for Apple Silicon/Metal, very interested to see how it turns out.

It's just as notable to me that Apple is abandoning the (stupid) strategy it had with RE8, Death Stranding, and RE4 where the Mac versions of the games were exclusive to the App Store. This will be launching on Steam as well as the App Store, so if you are a PC gamer who already owns the game on Steam your purchase will carry over.

M4 Pro and M4 Max chips are “hella fast”, have good GPU performance so it’s great to see more games coming over. The new Mini especially is pretty damn nice.

I have 14” MB Pro 14 with M3 Pro chip so it’s not going to be as nice, but that should still be able to run Cyberpunk.

The more options, the better. Looking forward to the next couple years when we'll find out if the push for more capable graphics in the M series chips will have any significant impact on the traditional (digital) games market on macOS.
