Cyberpunk 2077 on pc with high settings ray/path ray tracing is still graphics king!

Can you explain what's going on there, so from what I understand if you've got path tracing turned on you don't need ray tracing turned on right cause path tracing is a more advanced version of ray tracing right? So this year's AMD GPUs with RDNA 4, have they finally closed the gap on Nvidia when it comes to path tracing? How far behind is AMD when it comes to path tracing?

So path tracing is the future then?

He is running Cyberpunk with FSR4 upscaling at 1440p with pathtracing and pretty much max settings. That's pretty damn good. AMD has come a long with their raytracing performance. The 9070XT is an impressive GPU. Think of pathtracing as a more demanding, more realistic, form of raytracing. This is where the 9070XT stands compared to the best card the RTX 5090 from Nvidia:
