Cyberpunk 2077 Switch 2 vs PS4 Pro (PS5 Pro BC) Early Graphics Comparison

NeoGAFs Kent Brockman

PS4 Pro version was captured on PS5 Pro.

Fun fact, it isn't just a resolution difference: The Switch 2 has noticeably higher graphics settings too. i.e better draw distance, added volumetric smoke, more particles, rendered building interiors, increased texture resolution, better global illumination and more realistic shadow filtering (soft)

PS4 Pro version looks clearer. Also, why is the Switch 2 version missing the effects around Johnny?

That comparison is flawed imo.
CP2077 PS4pro version on PS5pro is running at higher resolution and frame rate than running on the original PS4pro hardware.

PS4pro version
Resolution = 972P -1188P
Frame rate = 20-30fps

PS5 BC version
Resolution = 1224p
Frame rate = 60fps

Cyberpunk 2.0 and 1.63 are very different games, with very different performance footprints. You guys should elect a new game to be used in this platform war of yours...

If he is using a PS4 disc then he won't automatically get the PS5 BC version. You have to go the the PS store and download it.

Having said that.....not sure how he can call this "PS4 Pro" when it is running on PS5 Pro. Weird.

The uploader himself stated in the comment section that he was using PS5 BC version for comparison.

the PS4 Pro version has a patch that makes it "PS5 enhanced". not sure if that patch is on the disc however.
this is clearly the patched version tho, as it runs at 60fps, which the PS4 Pro version on PS4 Pro doesn't do.

but it's not really a big difference. I think the rest of the settings are pretty much the same. just the fps and the resolution are higher.

Thanks for clarifying. Agree with what P pulicat said, in that case. Not a valid comparison.

it's an ok comparison, but it's important to note that the actual PS4 pro would run this at a lower resolution.

Youtuber should just call it what it is. It is a PS5 BC vs Switch 2 comparison. Not PS4 Pro vs Switch 2.

Can we all agree that there's a certain segment that's going to tell us we shouldn't play this game on Switch 2, even though if you shuffled them and laid them out you'd likely screw up using the naked eye? May that segment's fingers always poke through your toilet paper as you wipe your ass.

The best version of CP 2077 vs Switch 2? Uh....that would be pretty dang easy to spot.

I mean it's less graphics and moreso there are like 10 other different systems to play this exact same game on

Also what about the people who have a bidet

This is like having a hot girlfriend who can't have sex with you.

It's not about how it looks mate. It's about how it performs.
Its like having a replica shelby cobra with a Toyota camry motor.
Ill eventually buy it for the exclusives at some point.

i was gonna say how is the ps4 pro version doing 60fps and then I saw all the comments, the resolution is clearly above 1080p too. Shame this guy spent so long on the video but were comparing a 10 teraflop console to a handheld here. This is pointless.

PS5 pro version of Cyberpunk will make the PS4 pro version look like the PS5 version running on a Switch 2.

Perhaps it has to do with the different game build, I am not sure if 2.21 is different in that regard. The Switch 2 build might even be different vs 2.21. It could also be something that is related to DLSS; perhaps they reworked the particle effects to better suit the Switch's DLSS implementation. Or maybe it's straight up DLSS failing, but that sounds too far fetched.

It's just running at a higher resolution in PS5 BC

I looked it up and the PS4 Pro never got the 2.0 update, so things could be different. The Switch 2 is getting the full fat Ultimate Edition, which means 2.21, and probably some specific optimizations on top of that.

I don't get the magnifying glass stuff when Switch 2 is a handheld, so if it looks better or worse it's still Cyberpunk on the go, that's all that matters. Compare it to Steam Deck and other handhelds for a more accurate assessment.

Because not everyone is looking at this solely from a handheld perspective.

Even so it's quite the achievement to have parity on something so small. To me, the comparisons seem quite petty at the end of the day.

Eh....where were the complaints about the comparisons being petty in the other threads then? You were pretty excited about it when they brought out the magnifying glass for Street Fighter 6 my man.
