Was just reading the passed few pages and couldn't help but speak on the mh difficulty vs ds difficulty topic. In MH you have the ability to bring tons and tons of tools and buffs that can make the bosses a breeze. Both games give you an option to let your friends help , but mh allows you to leave the zone and heal up at your leisure. I think the main difference in difficulty is that mh is more about strategy and the amount of tedious (or enjoyable!) prep time you are willing to allow yourself and ds is a bit more level up to win, if you can deal with the early game handily enough, that is.

I think mh is more difficult, but only due to the time it asks you to put in, since some bosses can take nearly an hour to kill if you aren't prepared. At the end of the day mh is a loot farming boss fight rpg and ds is an exploration action rpg with hit or miss bosses. Both games can be exploited to nearly 0 difficulty and both games can break your will depending on your willingness to learn.

Played the online beta tests but otherwise going into this one blind as a bat. I'm unaware of the changes that have been made and hope to be surprised by everything this game has to offer.

Oddly enough my hype is at an all time low for a Souls game, I love Demon's and Dark Souls too. Welp, just five more days, heh!

Lighting is really good actually. You get a better feel of it early on as opposed to DS 1.

There's also some nice motion blur I noticed on the player character during certain movements. Some of the backgrounds do look a little bland when the lighting effects aren't being utilized, but those little touches will make this game a bit more appealing than Dark Souls in my opinion.

Anyone else waiting for DSP's playthrough? He's gunna rage quit faster then Dark Souls or end up breaking the game by having OP players play the game for him.

Tuned in for minute or so and surprised it looks as good as it does. Is he ignoring the crystal lizard or whatever it is on purpose?

Also, can anyone speak on performance? framerate and tearing?

yeah, i'm looking forward to that, & being hit by a car, & having all my teeth extracted too. & i'm not sure right now which'll be most painful :) ...

Stay strong, brother.

Going to be rough feeling out the effective PVP and co-op range of the various areas, especially if the game is more open than its predecessor. Can't wait to never get summoned.

I saw this giant setup for Dark Souls II the other week.

He guards the baskets.

Which store is this? Are you in Tokyo? I want to touch him...

Ohhhhhhh, so that's how Oscar died so unexpectedly. He got his ass punted through several brick walls, which probably broke every bone in his body. Then he just gave up... even though he couldn't actually die. I forgot, is your flask empty or filled when he gives it to you?

Funny that you don't hear the commotion during the tutorial.

Haha, yeah. When you find him through the broken wall, he's sitting in a pile of rubble. If you look up you can see the hole he's no doubt been slam-dunked through by the Asylum Demon xD

Double dipping. Fuck you Namco.
as they laugh all the way to the bank :(
Also I like how Steam would have me pay 90USD lmao. Fuck off you sick bastards. I'm going GMG or Amazon for sure.
What is the fixation with calling out the publisher? I understand that From was developing the PC version in tandem with consoles, but don't you think they'd want to spend a little extra time polishing things up for the frothing PC crowd? We might even get a repeat of last time despite it not being a "port". Even so, it seems you will buy the PC version regardless, so why even complain?

Am I the last non-stream viewer left?

Absolutely not. I am in full dark mode until the 14th. Gonna be tough as Havel's rock hard
armour

Dedicated servers should help show more summoning signs though.

In Dark Souls i could never get my sign to show up on my friends screen (he would take his Playstation to my place, i'd take the monitor and he would play on my tv) even though he knew exactly where my sign was supposed to be.

Yea finding the right soul level for summons will a nightmare for a week or so

Will be the one thing I consult a wiki for during my first playthrough, but by the time those numbers materialize it'll probably be too late. Eh, that's all part of starting out I guess.

Are there any good preorder deals for dark souls pc? I really want to get it at launch, but I'm holding out for a deal.

$40 on GMG if that code's still good. 20 fancy letter L's with a coupon code from SimplyCDKeys if you're from the place where they use those.

Just don't grind lol. People naturally are at similar levels at similar points in the game.

While true it seems that people have even more freedom in the paths they choose to take first this time around.

If you have bad luck you might be on a path most people did not choose to start with.

Edit: I might be totally wrong, since all i have watched are some of the official trailers and a video from vaatividya where i think he stated this.

The problem arises if the game adopts Demon's structure of a central area with several spokes that can all be explored at the same time, or Dark's more linear structure. It made sense for everyone to be the same level in Dark, but in Demon's you just had to wait for a trend to emerge.

By the looks of it the hub area is modeled much like DS and Demons so you can do your leveling all in a single place including your weapons meaning you will always have something to spend your souls on. I dunno how this streamer is level 70 but I don't think he leveled his weapons or armor up.

Put about 30 hours into the PC version of the first Dark Souls and almost half of my online interactions were with hackers. Get invaded by a guy with a giant head? That's funny, sure, whatever. Get invaded by invisible asshole who backstabs you with a weapon that simultaneously curses you and gives you egghead? No thanks. With DSfix installed it was purty as hell but the whole experience just reminded me why the fanbase sticks with PS3.

I still plan on double dipping down the line but I'm never able to shake the paranoia of whether I'm about to encounter a hacker or not.

Wow, you must have been real unlucky then, I have logged some 530 hours on steam, mostly helping new players and came across 3 hackers, 1 of whom infected me with egg head, and it was actually a positive as I never had eggs before when finding Einygy.....he changes his dialogue. Another, hacker we pushed off a cliff = way more souls and more satisfaction. I actually embrace getting invaded on PC its a lack of invasions that is worrysome more than hackers. Just use game save manager = end of paranoia.
