Nice OT. Don't forget to put the FAQ in their site.

BTW, there is a new weapon you can find in the ng+ and is very powerful. I recommend checking out.

Having lots of fun with Horde Assault mode so far.
I am using the explosive freakers injection and clearing them hordes fast and easy but all my deaths so far have been from the explosions.

A freaker grabbed me, i did the QTE correct only to understand that the killing animation will trigger the explosion and kill me too...

Ooooof…..

Large load Oooofff…

I mean it's a 10 dollar upgrade, not sure what he was expecting...

There are a lot of enhancements that people should judge for themselves whether they're worth it. Loading time is a big one.

You're getting significantly better lighting and shadows and more realistic effects.

I think people need to do a better job expectation setting. It's just an excuse for the studio to generate a little more money, especially after they cancelled their latest project. Maybe they should have kept in an option for the checkerboard 4k on base ps5.

So loading and better night time lighting:

At the same time it has worse image quality than BC version on base PS5 (and game can use full system power compared to BC).

This is as lazy remaster as the last of us 2, compare them both to Horizon that cost the same but difference is much bigger.

What's with the yellowish hue in the remaster, the colour change looks like shit! I'm not sure if it's a result of upgraded lighting/reflections.

This is so fucking retarded I don't know what to say. Lets ignore all the stuff that's improved/added/altered and fixate on resolution and pretend that checkerboarding is the peak upscaling method!

Like seriously, when we're talking base resolution starting at 1440p... who gives a shit really?

An upgrade, wild guess

So resolution > enhanced lighting, atmospherics, draw-distance, haptics, new game modes etc. Not to mention that if you paid for the upgrade (like on PC) you still have the original PS4 version available to play under BC as well...

As I've mentioned before, the deliberate attempts to problematize using arbitrary metrics isolated from all other variances/enhancements is pathetically transparent.

Was going to respond to Bojji Bojji but this said everything I was going to say.

Least of all to mention these games actually have pro enhancements. For only 10 dollars people can decide whether it's worth it to them or if they haven't played it before whether it's worth 50.

But calling it a scam is a bridge too far.

You know what feels like a scam? Persona 5 ps5 that you can't upgrade to or use previous save game and is basically a ps3 game running at 60 fps when it should probably be doing 120 fps.

The PS5 probably can't run the new game as high resolution as the PS4 version because they upgraded a bunch of effects and cranked other settings.

In other words it's like Elden Ring. It doesn't appear like a remaster, just a patch/different version, so the game's title is bad.

Interesting that you worded it that way. So, if a person is grabbed, and to get away, they proceed to take action to kill, the decision to kill is what led to an explosion, killing both. The point? The animation isn't why you died; the animation is simply showing the "action" you decided to take as a player, which is what led to getting you killed. ;)

Ps5 Pro enhanced mode( with Pisser) works like a charm. Looks stunning on my OLED. There are some graphical glitches and instability, but don't detract from an overall experience. Easily warrants 10 bucks upgrade. Game is definitely in my top 10 games of all time. No hesitation of recommending for the first time buyers.

There's no enhanced lighting, it's just changes to the settings. Same as draw distance. No new tech upgrades to speak off unless the pssr is considered something substantive, which it's clearly not compared to the higher rez checkerboarding.

New mode is new, that's the only thing to consider worth the $

Yes i know, i just saw my death coming when the animation kicked in.
Anyway, a grab escape attempt has 2 QTE phases. If i complete the first one and fail the second, i can escape without killing the freaker.

Just bought a used copy thinking I could use that to then pay 10€ and download the Remastered version and resell the disc.

It works, but you'll always need the disc. It worked with Miles Morales but it doesn't here. I just assumed it did.

Can't wait to play the game for the first time but I'll wait for the 40fps patch.

Last of Us Part 2 is the same way. The only upgrade I bought besides Uncharted and I never owned the disc.

This feels like a loss, straight-bros.

Feels like a cheap way to scrounge up a few bucks after the Sony Bend live game went bust. They did the same thing with endless TLOU releases after Factions 2 was axed. Great management Hulst.

"Remaster"

No surprise to see the checkerboard image looking better than the 1440p remaster, checkerboarding really makes use of that extra framerate to resolve a cleaner image on PS5. Those 60fps patches for Sony's 1st party PS4 games on PS5 BC really make remasters redundant given how well they still hold up.

As always - if the developer puts out some patches and bugfixes, this could be good in the end. Having finished the story 5 minutes ago I can say that I prefer the Remaster over the original. I like the look of the enhanced mode on the pro.
One thing I absolutely hate are the darker nights - while the gameplay is whatever (Hordes are harder to see now, yay. Who wanted that?!) the cheap filter they put over the screen at night activates now on indoor-cutscenes (or dark places) too, making everything hard to see. Destroys the movie-like presentation from the ps4 original! I hope they refine this further!

What "settings" ? Those that were only on PC? The ones that weren't on PS4 because I seem to recall people at the time noting there were visual improvements on that port.

The fact is that the game does look different, so clearly things have been changed. You might not like the changes, but evidently work has been done. Which nullifies your point.

The bottom line for me is that its a $10 patch, I already owned the game so the situation is basically the exact same as buying the open road DLC off of Steam or whatever. So the status of it as a "remaster" is frankly irrelevant. Bottom line is that the original PS4 version has been on sale for cheap both digitally and boxed for literally years, so again I have no issue with the value for money aspect.

If you're happy with the old version, congrats. But the whining and concern trolling needs to stop, I'm sick of the stupidity of half-wits using worthless metrics to try and throw shade when there's really nothing substantive to complain about.

To be honest, I'm not sure what the point is? I mean on one hand its argued that the PS4 version running under BC is so good it makes the new version worthless, on the other its that its not native 4k in performance mode because that makes such a fucking difference! /facepalm.

Hold on. Did I just pay for a remaster which isn't looking better than the original? That's gonna be a instant refund if true.

You do get some extra goodies and there are some graphical enhancements, its just 4K checkerboard mode of the original PS4 Pro release on PS5 generally provides a cleaner & sharper image than the 1440p of the performance mode on PS5 remaster at the same 60fps. Personally for me the original release still looks and plays great on PS5 BC so I'll be skipping the remaster myself

They are working on a 40fps patch.

I bought the Remastered because they made me believe it would look better ffs. They said they improved lots of stuff including lighting and environmental details etc.

LOD is improved, lighting and shadows use screen space rendering , texture are higher resolution. Probably they avoid checkboarder reconstruction because screen space effects not work particularly well with upscaling reconstruction especially CBR (there are some shimmering artifacts with PSSR). Call a lazy port because it's 20% less native pixels on base ps5 it's definitely exaggerate. The only mistake it's not use FSR1 as GTA5 to improve the sharpening. It's not that taxing.

i really dont see the point of this remaster, its still the same repetitive gameplay and shitty AI
The game isn't for you then. That's cool. Some of us like it quite a bit and a reason to play through again with better lighting and effects (the fog is fantastic) and some new hordes is worth the point of entry so I do see the point of it.

I think its subjective and depends on how you look about the visual upgrade. Majority of what I read and also what saw I youtube so improvement visually.

Is the lighting really that bad?

I love Days Gone, and will buy the upgrade if worth it, but I am not on a 4k tv.

I play on base ps5 with 1080p tv.
Was the old game ps4 pro enhanced? If so wouldn't it already had 60fps mode for 1080p?

IS the horde mode and haptics alone worth $10.
Those shots with the ugly lighting have me questioning.
