Digital Foundry: Days Gone Remastered DF Review - PS5/PS5 Pro - An Improvement Over PS4 Back Compat? It's Complicated

Quite false lol. Tried both and it's the usual nonsense of Oliver and PSSR. Not sure what it's wrong with this guy eyes and the PSSR.
Yeah he clearly needs to get his eyesight corrected and buy glasses like these.

Then he would be able to perceive the great benefits of PSRR.

I don't read many of these PS Pro comparisons, but it seems playing the old PS4 version on the base PS5 is usually the best way to play.
Pro adds weird artifacts that makes me think the Pro isn't worth getting.
I can agree for the price couldn't be worthy for everyone but artifacts of the Pro are not remotely bad as CBR or FSR or even TSR of UE5, outside the first iteration in some games not updated. But they are just a few.

PSSR blurs vegetation, CBR doesn't...
CBR falls apart with vegetation and fine detail, it's a core limitation of the algorithm.

Having watched the videos, people need to decide if the improved lighting is worth the trade-off. But I think the PSSR option is the obvious one if you have a Pro. It seems like for whatever reason the guy who did the DF video just is fine with CBR's limitations and isn't so fine with PSSR's.

I can only speak for myself but I tried both mode and PSSR has nothing worse compared the CBR and about Oliver he has had the face to say Alan Wake 2 was preferable with the FSR2 over PSSR, so... seems this guy just look at the game when in still and not in motions or I'm really start to think he has some serious eyes problem when he look a picture in motion. I have nothing againt Oliver but seriously they should stop to use him to analise the PSSR, he is became totally unreliable about it and people get always the wrong idea about the PSSR "issues". Just look most of comment here about the people who don't own a Pro when they saw his videos.

Whatever make you feel better. But it's discouraging how some of you can find trustworthy whatever a youtube channel say because "it's famous" and not find strange that an AI upscaler can provide worst result of a simpler CBR. The video not show a single clip about it in any case.

It's not because they are "famous" but because they do in-depth analysis of uncompressed frame captures and have been doing it for years. Those who say that the defects of PSSR are not noticeable, have you done any analysis like this?

There isnt'it a real in-depth analysis about it, he just said PSSR it's worse in motion than CBR; I have the game and I can guarantee to you it's absolutely not true. And another thing, I never said PSSR is flawless in this game. I have admitted also CBR is better in-still (not by much anyway). Anyway it's just matter of logic how you can even believe an AI upscaler is worse in motion to the CBR. If Oliver prefer the PS4 PRO IQ, ok, but it's just a personal taste, not an indepth analysis. That's why I persist so much with my stance. Just I can't stand his continuous falsity about the PSSR, he's not new to such stuff.

When in the DF video, PSSR and CBR were put side by side, they looked comparable. So I figured with PSSR you get the improved lighting of this version as well as the sharpness of the old version. Obvious win. Then DF went into extreme nitpick territory claiming that CBR had better this and that which just didn't show in the video.

So, yea, it seems like this guy just doesn't like PSSR. Which is fine but come on.

I really don't know what's wrong with him and PSSR. And the irony CBR notoriously has similar issues of the PSSR in motion but worse.
