And there are a lot of other characters -- a lot of main characters, too, but a lot of background characters -- that haven't had their due, that haven't had their spotlight in a while, that will be bubbling up to the surface. One in particular, I'm extremely excited to be writing.

So ummmm Shazam?

Only other one I can think of is Wally. Despite what people say, he likes the character.

except for "Action Comics" and "Detective Comics," the two longest-running series in DC's lineup, which will return to their original numbering at #957 and #934

I really hope Wonder Woman gets her numbering back as well. All three of them should be approaching #1000 I believe.

$2.99 (or whatever the equivalent is in £'s) comics - yay
Twice monthly shipping - boo

That 80 page one-shot sounds intriguing.

I was very opposed to the twice monthly shipping but those two books are still only $6 total. IDW is now charging $5 for some 30 page books like recent Rocketeer mini.

People seem to think this is a complete canning of the New 52, but I'm doubtful in that regard.

If DC was smart, they'd use the multibook format to explore different versions of the characters.

For example:
Old Superman in Action Comics
New Superman in Superman
Alternate Elseworlds Supermen (Rotating Basis) in Man of Steel

Finally. New 52 has been a failure. Time to embrace all of DC wonderful stories again.
I'm sure this is still going to be similar to the New 52 except with some of the older characters being added and them moving away from certain decisions like DC You.

It's not.

That's how they get you lol.

I'm hoping King gets to complete Sheriff of Babylon for Vertigo as well. I know they're with DC, but I love that series, and want to see it through. Does anyone know if it's a lengthy series or a miniseries?

Doesn't matter how much they retcon and not-reboot and not-un-reboot - any DC relaunch with this editorial team is fucked in the long run. They're hopelessly aimless and have no guiding vision for the line; witness the complete 180 shift from last year's continuity-deemphasizing DC YOU relaunch to this.

Also, $2.99 is great, but unfortunately, I see no way the economics will justify that for more than a few months.

Double ship the books that people like

So Snyder justice league?

He said he never said he was going to be on detective, and he said he wasn't trying to be coy.

Sheriff of Babylon has always been an 8 issue mini. I assume its all but written now.

It's probably a mixture of the old and the new.

Rebirth" aims to do the same with the entire DC Universe, while also restoring more of a focus on a shared universe.

So Convergence allowed the creators freedom to write about anything they want with no focus on continuity, and less than a year later Rebirth comes about to bring a focus on continuity.

That is a LOT of twice monthly books. Even at $3 a pop I can't afford more than 5 or so of them. And whose is going to draw all that?
That's what the money and health insurance is for.

I know I just said in the comic thread that I wouldn't try books that are twice a monrh, but I'm going to be a hypocrite and try at least some books depending on the teams lol. Twice a month means I won't be able to stick with them for all that long though. DC needs a Marvel Unlimited like service badly.

Earth 2 Rebirth? So was the JSA rumor false?

But yep, this definitely looks like a return to "meat and potatoes" books, not that I can entirely blame them given the abject failure of DC You.

Picking through the list with educated guesses and speculation. "Green Lanterns Rebirth" and "Green Lanterns" points to a GL team book of some sort. Probably Jessica + Baz/John/Kyle. Hal headlines the Green Lantern Corps book. "The Super-Man" points to my thoughts before, perhaps multiple Superman continuities. "Blue Beetle Rebirth" should be Jaime, but will probably be Ted. "Titans" and "Teen Titans" are different books again, probably the older classic Titans (like Titans Hunt) and the current incarnation. I have no clue what's going on in Superwoman or Super Sons. Perhaps Superwoman is the Power Girl book?

Surprises: Red Hood & The Outlaws and Batman Beyond. Would not have pegged those for a return.

Wait, Red Hood and the Outlaws is coming back?

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm always down for those shenanigans, but it's definitely not a move I saw coming.

There is a book called Titans and another called Teen Titans???

Titans is going to be the old school Wolfman / Perez Teen Titans but now in their twenties and Teen Titans will be Damian, Blue Beetle (I guess), etc.

"DC LOGIC!"

I want to know who's behind Flash.

By all accounts DCYou was a huge failure. Not repeating something that worked really badly the first time isn't exactly controversial.

RIP Midnighter and JL3k1

Yeah... bummer about Midnighter.

JL3k1 is starting to wear out its welcome, though.

As long as Lobdell has dirt on Bob Harras, Red Hood and the Outlaws will never die.

And thank god for that!

*Waves MURICAN flag furiously*

So it's a reboot...but it isn't?

Doesn't seem to be a reboot at all. They're keeping all the current continuity and bringing back the old stuff they got rid of in the last reboot.

Could see it being either Fletcher or her since I don't think she's doing anything but Secret Six at DC right now.

SS and Clean Room for Vertigo.

There's still a vanilla Batgirl book, so I'm guessing that'll still be Fletcher and Batgirl & Birds is Simone, since SS is presumably dead now.

Guessing Jaime will be a part of the Teen Titans book, especially with that lineup being featured in the new titans movie.

Will be legit surprised if Blue Beetle gets past 12 issues.

Any guesses what Johns himself is moving to? Can't be GL, right? Seems too obvious.

imo from most likely to least

1. Aquaman (Mentioned Seven Seas recently)
2. JSA (mentIoned missing them the most as part of the new 52)
3. Flash (just because he's his favorite character)

I don't think he'll be back on GL. He had a long, satisfying run with it's own epilogue.

Could be that they haven't announced it due to not wanting to spoil Rebirth. Earth-2 could be a false cover for JSA. Just seems odd to be big on legacy but keeping them on a seperate earth.
