It's not rebirth, it's the cover for JL 50 which is the last issue before Rebirth. You are probably getting Deja Vu because it's meant to invoke this

Yeah, I got the reference but I could swear I've seen that exact art before. Regardless, I'm glad it's pre-birth, I'm hoping for some new costumes to go along with the launch.

At the very least I hope Superman gets to keep the one he got during the Johns/JR run. I liked that one so much more than the first N52 one (would still like to lose the collar though), but then Truth happened and it seemed to go away.

He got another one? Still got lines on it?

Oh man.

What... what if they're going back into the old stuff forreal? Picking up books that were going to happen before Flashpoint?

Guys, what if Teen Titans is this?

Switch out Damien for Tim Drake and I would be all over that. Providing Lobdell is nowhere near it of course.

No Midnighter or Grayson. well Nightwing is back.

No Black Canary. but Batgirl and Birds of Pray
No Justice League United or JL3000

And im so far behind on some books right now. like the Green Lantern ones and Detective Comics.

Earth-2 needed a reboot, I hope we got Terry back in Batman Beyond.

Any news on who is writing what books and details on them.

Nope. And it sounds like it might be a while before we get that information.

Well i still have a few months to catch up and then decide what comics i will be picking up. and what i will be dropping.

But how the fuck did Midnighter not get to continue. That is the one im most sad about.

Not sold on the idea of some of twice monthly books without them having a drop in quality.

Nah. The underwear on the outside is a poor look. Just because you've done it one way for a long time doesn't make it good.

It straight up looks better and is easier for many artists to make look good.

Lee just designed some shit that only barely works with his pinup style.

Honestly without the briefs the belt makes no sense so I like the styling around the waist on the movie costumes but yeah, it should be a bit bigger or go all the way around or something.

Alternatively, add some yellow to the belt and change up the design some then lose the collar on the JR design I posted above and I think it'd be great too.

I doubt they think people care, they want to make people care. Like Carol!

Trying to increase interest in Cyborg is a good idea as DC does not have much diversity and Cyborg has connections to the Titans and Justice League. It seems to me that a smarter play would be to have a good team working on a monthly title and let the audience find it based on quality rather than put it out as a twice monthly. It's hard to imagine that some fans won't be scared off by the twice monthly format (twice the cost, etc...) not to mention the potential dilution of quality.

Suicide Squad I can see that they're trying to play off the movie's success, but with Cyborg it just seems way too optimistic.

The problem there is the stuff around the waist doesn't break up the blue enough. That's why Lee went with the belt.
Have a similar problem with Batman, which weirdly enough the initial design sheet worked because the lower legs were black all the way to the knee pads.

But then unless you got a great inker you get

The only way this works I think is if GJ is overseeing everything things Rebirth related. That could be why he's done with Justice League. Which makes wonder if he's writing everything or at least outline every single rebirth storyline. After that writers can go off on their own with him or someone else double checking their work.

Man I can't wait to see Capullo's supposed brand-new redesign of the Bat suit. I was wondering if it was gonna be leaked by issue 51/52 but it seems like they might leave it until post-Rebirth.

New 52 suit could be worse but was a massive step back compared to the great Batman Incorporated costume. I am a yellow oval man, and I hate how it got replaced with lines and little bad kneepads.

Plus the New 52 suit looks like ass in the Arkham games.

Every outfit that isn't the main one looks like ass in the Arkham games.

I hope it works for them, I was always more of a DC guy, but I don't buy comics anymore. Few trades either. Now, if they launched this with a Marvel Unlimited style app (which is awesome, btw) I would be so deeply in.

So we've talked about Superman and Batman, what other costume changes would you like to see?

It seems that Wonder woman's atrocious armor is already gone before Rebirth even happens but I'd love to see them use Fabok's current design for her going forward. I know it's basically the BvS outfit (which makes it a real possibility I feel) but it really is pretty great.

I don't know what I'd like to see for Tim Drake but my God I hope they ditch his current outfit. His OYL look was great but I don't see them going back to anything like that.

I thought it was heresy when they got rid of the oval after No Man's Land but over time came to prefer the black bat. I still dig the oval and agree the Inc. costume was cool but I did like the N25 one more usually. Some versions of it were better than others.

Damn. The only two DC series I follow since the reboot and both are cancelled. I guess social media presence don't exactly translate into sales. Grayson, especially, is the only DC book that continuously pop up on my feed from the non-hardcore comic crowd.

I like the skirt or whatever being a bit longer but yes, this.

Some look more ass than others. The Batman Inc skin looks quite good IMO:

While the New 52 one has too many lines on it for my liking.

The whole "add more lines to a costume to make it look more detailed" thing is something I used to do when drawing as a kid. I'm all for making the DC costumes look more tactical and sleek but Jim Lee's designs here really weren't my favorite work of his.

They really should just go with her BvS outfit, I'm an ass man but even I think it's sort of silly how out of everyone in the Justice League, Wonder Woman is the only one running around in a leotard bottom. The battle-plated skirt is a better fit for the character's Greek roots.

It's funny because the original Crisis reboot was a last minute thing too. Maybe DC should try planning these out once in awhile instead of hitting the panic button every time sales drop.

Coie was planned years in advance according to Wolfman in the Absolute. Regardless planning and a creative vision thats unifed and not Didios is key.

Oh shit I just realised JL 48 or 49 is the birth of Alexander Luthor Jr from Earth 3.
