I don't know if it increases the durability or what it specifically does since I no longer have it, but there's a Skateboard magazine in the are where you first meet Rebecca Chang in the Fortune Hotel lobby.
Thanks. I think that one lets you do some tricks on the skateboard. I'll investigate! :D

Only about 2 hours into the game, but my first impression is that this is everything I wanted in a Dead Rising sequel. Hats off to Blue Castle. Sorry I ever doubted you guys.

It's so true. I've never been so happy to be wrong before! :D

I think people had every reason to doubt, but I feel that with this release that Blue Castle have established not only that they know how to not only do existing IPs they've been given justice, but that they know how to actually improve them.

Damn you, Chef Antonio.
This. Maddening cheapness. Inexplicably invulnerable to gunfire most of the time and healing at every opportunity. I had him down to a sliver of health on my umpteenth attempt last night, but he frypanned me to death yet again. My biggest problem is that I haven't left myself enough time to run around and get properly equipped before starting the fight.

Yup! that skatebaording magazine lets you do a trick and makes skateboarding durability 3 times as long. Time to get my skate2 on :lol

edit: hold a down to ollie :D

To be honest, Dead Rising 2 did not look good in the previews all those months ago, and it didn't seem to be improving all that much until the past few months. And improved it has. Im loving the game so far, played it all day basically. Glad it came out as great as it did, good job everyone who worked on it, you proved me (and Im sure many others) wrong.

picked it up and got to play up to ticket to ride this afternoon. failed it and restarted and saved. im up to lvl 7 with some decent upgrades.

curb stomp is awesome.

its crazy dragging a crapload of survivors with you without really worrying about them. and bringing them to boss fights. lost one that way. :lol

this game is fantastic so far. im really digging it. i will be double dipping on the PC version when it gets a good sale. hopefully i can hold out.

cant wait to play a lot more.

Anyone else noticing slight frame rate drops with the 360 version. I'm running it at 1080p, would scaling it down to 720p help any?

I ditched the mag because I still haven't found a skateboard, which shop(s) can I find them at?

Is co-op broken? I played with a buddy earlier today but my attempts to join a random game have all failed. PS3 version btw.

No idea about consoles, but me and Bebpo tried some co-op earlier on the PC version. It took a few tries for him to connect to me. After he joined it worked, but since he had no mic connected he thought there were connection problems when I kept accessing the menus and he got "waiting for player". Seemed to run okay otherwise.

The closet right next to the safehouse. You can get an unlimited supply from the rack in the back of the store. It's almost worth it having 2 skatebaords and a magazine considering how fast you move around the map with it

Framerate fluctuates wildly on the PC version. It'll be at 90fps, then when you walk forward, it drops to 45 for a few seconds until it stabilizes. I'll give it a shot on the SSD tomorrow to see if it makes a difference.

Sounds like a great tip. I must have missed the rack completely. In my attempts to move faster across areas I've largely been looking for wheelchairs and garbage bin trolleys. :lol

Yeah, I abused the hell out of it in CZ. I can't recall if you needed the jump kick beforehand though.

Just finished this fucker, but I heard from other people that there are more survivors and I went to rescue all I got messages for, even some I didn't get the message but found on the road, how can I save them all, with a FAQ?

One of the best things about this game is how it rewards players for discovering solutions to the things players are having difficulty with. There are solutions to the majority of things people have issues over.

Finally got to play a multiplayer ranked match earlier and I love it soooooo much. I got first place in all of my events too, so my single player save is loaded with cash. Time to buy some Zombrex!

Dead Rising has always been an amazing simulation of the zombie apocalypse in an urban area while providing the player with one of the best playground experiences ever. I'm really happy that the spirit of Dead Rising is kept alive in the sequel and Blue Castle (and the Japanese Capcom staffers) seem to understand exactly what the audiences who loved the original wanted, and they also found ways to improve and fix issues people had with the original without ruining what made it all special.

I'm really impressed.

cool, didnt realize that. i used the broadsword a lot too. just doing the old hard attack and slicing them down the middle was so fun, but the jump slice is even cooler.

Finally got to play some of the PC version. Looks and runs awesome! Had some issues getting the 360 controller to work, but I found some solution on Steam forums that worked... no force feedback though. I am having a weird issue where the sound levels are kinda messed up and hard to hear, though. And every once in a while, the gamma levels get dim then brighten up again. I'll see if it happens again before I start crying, haha. Great game though. TIR is fun!

Finished Ticket To Ride.

Got back up to the ground level.

Finally found zombrex for Katey.

Got to the safe area

1mm from the fucking safe room

KATEY HAS TURNED

fucking really? 8:00am sharp? Can't wait till 8:01am?

wouldn't be so bad if they at least gave a hint as to where Zombrex might be.... they say you can buy it, but I don't see any Pawn Shops on the map. :I

I got 4 doses of Zombrex from survivors, and Stacey tells you that they might know where to find Zombrex, when you get them to the safe house they give you the damn shot.

Don't forget the Ghouls and Ghosts Easter Egg. You get one armor for completing S campaign, and the 3 others are scattered around. You get double the health and your armor starts falling off like Arthur

Don't worry dude, I just started a new game + to correct some things, started with actually winning the minigame at the begining of the game, Katey's gifts next on my list, and then saving the only survivor I left to die, a fucker in need of Zombrex and I only had 1 dose for Katey and no money, that won't be a problem now :lol

Can I give her a Survivor, care to elaborate? :D

Please elaborate on that, I'm interested, damn this game is so fucking awesome, is the
armor at the changing room, what else do they give you after finishing?

I didn't mean to say anything contrary to what you just said. Dead Rising 2's kept the elements which made it's predecessor so appealing and improved on it's few issues.

It's really hard to write out but I love the fact that I'm able to learn things from every minute I play the game and am able to help others from this knowledge, then likewise they're able to help me with things they've picked up. It just offers a kind of depth that's rarely seen outside of fighters or actions game like Bayonetta, DEMC or NG.

For example I could pretty much summarize Halo Reach on legendary as fire a charged plasma pistol shot into an elite and then hit them in the head with a DMZ or pistol. However Dead Rising 2's so much more than that because it offers so many more key mechanics such as time management, travel efficiency, psycho strategy and survivor allocation.

I love how Blue Castle made survivors assets rather than liabilities, and made zombies a serious threat in overtime rather than just making thing frustrating with overpowered projectiles.

That probably rather sounds stupid in retrospect, it's just I didn't expect to enjoy the game this much.

I found an easy way to defeat the last boss. It's obviously how the designers "meant" for you to defeat him. It makes you hate the game less.
When fighting Sullivan climb up with a melee weapon and do the double jump kick. It's the only way to trigger his flinch animation. It involves and lot ducking and diving and gives the mano a mano feel to it.

Also, do shortcuts work if they haven't been revealed to you yet? Would be a way to let people struggling with the game have a super easy way to travel around. From the safehouse to the gunshop in seconds.

I don't know if its been mentioned yet but theres an even easier way to kill the last boss.
Wait until he throws a flare at the corner to your right from where you enter the doors, drop down onto the platform, from there you can easily shoot him to death and he won't be able to retaliate, just make sure you have enough guns for the job

The sound is a problem for everyone it seems, and the dimming problem is actually the lighting in the game I believe.

To get the Suit of armor from Ghouls 'n Ghosts you must gather all 4 pieces. When you where all 4 pieces at once your health is doubled, and just like in Ghouls 'n Ghosts as you take damage the armor chips away leaving you in nothing but your underwear.

Full Beard Moustache In the back of the store "Moe's Migitations" in Royal Flush Plaza.
Knight Armor Complete the game with the "S" ending.
Knight Boots Buy at the Pawnshop in the Platinum Strip.
Knight Helmet Eliminate Jack in Strip Poker in the Ante Up side mission Eliminate Jack in Strip Poker in the Ante Up side mission.

The sound is way too soft, and this is a problem that everyone else who has played the game also seems to experience. It's too bad, because it's really quite bad. Maybe they can provide a patch for it soon. The lighting is a bit weird for me too, and it's probably just the way the engine renders the game. There's quite a few areas where the lighting switches from soft to harsh lighting very quickly and it does look unnatural.

How do I make sure that she notices the steaks and eats them, instead of eating me?

I read that you're supposed to drop the steaks when shes rushing at you but that didn't work for me so i just put them in a line down the main aisle and stood behind it at the right angle then ran and jumped up onto the rocks in the room she spawns at.. it took a couple tries but eventually she ate 3 pieces

I'll give both methods a shot later. I've just got one more question that someone knows the answer to.

Where do you mix drinks? I'd love to make things like Quickstep, but I have no clue where to go to do it.

You need to do it in a blender. There are some in some of the restaurants and I've seen a bunch at bars in the casinos but I don't really have a go to place to quickly make drinks.
