Really?, they are probably the less "guilty" party here.
What I saw looked fun, I don't care...
So, in other words, you can't answer my question. Shinji Mikami CREATED the third person shooter genre with RE4, so no. TPS wasn't a popular genre at the time.
People are upset about the "WHY" in this change of direction, because it also shows a lack of conviction and creativity. It's a bad sign, no matter how you slice it... and it's a story we've seen all too often in the past year.
this is getting silly. So it's microsoft's fault if dino3 sucked?

Love me some old Dead Rising. Those gifs are awesome and depressing, depressing because we'll never see that humor again.
Inafune can't do shit because he is not at Capcom.Keiji Inafune save Crapcon
They player base that's like a tenth of CoD's, if that?
Why would you not want the developer to change some things when they have already released two nearly identical games?
Thing is, no one has been able to capture the mythical "COD audience". It's like that mysterious beast that promises untold riches but always ends up being a fool chase where games are ruined.
The reason why is that Call of Duty doesn't try to replicate existing successes. While it may be overplayed and overdone at this point, it fills its niche well and isn't trying to be another game.
If your design vision is "be like this game", it'll never be as good as the original, inspired product.
I would say Battlefield got pretty close and is only getting bigger. Honesty if I was a dudebro I would be way more interested in Battlefield 4 than COD: Ghosts. Most people who still play COD because their friends play COD. Its the same thing as what Halo was, it was a social game and peopled followed the crowd.Thing is, no one has been able to capture the mythical "COD audience". By shifting the art style, the combat can be "more visceral" than in previous versions, with "real gore."
Because stuff like the time limit and the balanced goofiness made DR the franchise that it is. Without those it's just like every other zombie game.

Real talk though Titanfall is the new COD and Destiny is the new Halo. At least for me that is.
It was a joke dude, dont take it to serious. Dino Crisis 3 sucked because Capcom, but someone at MS greenlighted that POS and made it XB exclusive (thank god), so in part is MS fault that DC3 existed.
Take away the time limit so I can relax and enjoy zombie killing, and I would have been fine. Even have a mode without a time limit.
Why take a series that was all about off the wall whacky humor and run it through brown filter and 'realism' wringer to go after a certain crowd? Oh of course $$$! for eyes.
All it's going to take now is for Capcom to release a 'serious' MegaMan with disc locked Robot Masters and dlc up the wazzo to destroy any soul this company has left.
Since the author of the article didn't put 'Call of Duty' in quotes, I doubt the Capcom demonstrator really said that.
Well you are in luck. There are 3 different solutions to your problem!
1 Play Dead Rising: Off The Record. It has a mode that has no time limit IIRC.
2 Play DR1 or DR2 and just let the time run out while you goof around. Seriously, it's not a big deal. DR2 is even better for this since you can have seperate save files which means you can just go on with the your main file once you are done goofing around
3 Play one of the other dozen zombie games or wait for DR3.
DR1 (and DR2 to a lesser extent) had very clear design decisions that made the game so unique. Taking them out now is one of the most boneheaded moves Capcom can possibly do.
Does DR1 or DR2 have new game +? It takes a while to get to the good parts in the game or be beefed up enough to really go on a zombie killing bender.
Yeah, new game+ is an integral part to DR1 and DR2. You even have the option to start over (with all your unlocks) when you die.
