I I could've done with less pop culture references because I feel like it will age the movie terribly

I dunno, a lot of the pop culture references are pretty dated already, sort of showing Deadpool's age.
Aliens 3, Sinead O'Connor, Ferris Bueller, Voltron, the music selection, etc.

Just saw it today here in Jakarta, Indonesia and let me tell you i have never seen lines this long for a movie. The theater was absolutely packed and i went to a 15:00 showing. The later ones were full too definitely. Word of mouth here was extremely positive from what I have heard. Unfortunately the sex scene was cut here but most of the gore made it through. Also there were a surprising number of kids in the theatre.

Movie was awesome. But I felt many people didn't get the references here because you have to be somewhat familiar with US pop and comic culture. Still, many cheers were had during the action sequences. Loved the end credits as well. Very funny. Good times. Looking forward to the sequel.

Weekends are where people who heard "there's this cool new movie" watch so it's not surprising. I watched on Wednesday, Grand Indonesia and the audience laughed at every geeky jokes.

Shame about the kids, though. There's one kid (I think under 5) at my showing and he keeps crying that her beloved mother who brought him into an R-rated movie showing had to take him out, complaining mid-way. I can only imagine the number of kids in weekend showing.

Most fun Marvel movie I've seen. Consistently entertaining unlike others that have weak middles or third acts. Post credits scene had the IMAX audience going.

Have to give props to the editing by Julian Clarke, those flashbacks went like a breeze.

Want to go see it again.

Love this poster that was at BFI IMAX:

I got a copy of this poster for free at my local forbidden planet today. Absolutely chuffed. Gonna frame it :)

Just came home from Deadpool, and I really liked it. I'm not sure if it is top-tier with other superhero films yet, as I have to give it some time, but it was funny, without making me laugh out loud. Many references I didn't get, but equally as many which I recognized. I wish Negasonic Teenage Warhead were used much more, but Colossus were fulfilling. It was a really good and funny movie for sure.

Actually, I take it partly back. There were a lot of hilarious moments!

I definitely liked that it didn't seem to pull any punches.

It's been a long time since I've seen a movie not afraid to do things.

I enjoyed it a lot. I would enjoy it even more if the version I watched in theater wasn't censored. I think the stuff cut/edited from my version is
a sex scene and some action scenes (notably the triple headshot that was in the redband trailer).
FYI, I live in South East Asia.

You know, I feel like a well written Doom, and I have faith in the guys doing the Deadpool scripts to treat him right, interacting with Deadpool could be hilarious. Fox has the license just sitting there after the latest F4 bomb, might as well let Deadpool go balls to the wall with all the Marvel licenses they have. Plus, the jokes he could make about the F4 film series are endless.

I've got to see this tonight! I wanted it to review well and be successful but I never thought it would be received like it is.

Y'know, I don't think I've read a single Deadpool comic. But I was just searching the internet and this...

... managed to get a chuckle out of me.

I won't be able to see the film for at least a week so maybe an issue or two can keep me entertained.

This was damn fun time, there wasn't a second throughout that a wasn't smiling like fool. The movie had no downtime, I impressed by how well paced it was, the 6 and half years on a script did wonders for editing it down.

I wasn't really shocked to see kids there, I'm more shocked that people here are so shocked.

Besides, it's not such a hard R as I thought it would be. Besides some cursing and the strip club scene, most of it, even the violence, could have been on a TV-14 rated TV show. A lot of nudity was obscured, a lot of the gore and blood was minimal, and a lot of the adult humor/content was even pretty tame.

It feels like it earned it's R, but it could have got a PG-13 with not too many significant cuts. Glad they went with R, since some of the gags just wouldn't have been the same or couldn't have been done.

it's an odd description to make for collosus and negasonic but i found them kinda adorable. especially when he
gives her that protein bar, or when collosus notices gina carano's boob hanging out and warns her about it.

I'm hoping they're both back for the sequel and yeah Collosus was great playing the straight guy to Deadpool's antics.

Just saw it a few hours ago.
Really liked it. Cool action, fun story and Reynolds was great. He might have just found what will become his iconic role, and you can tell he was having fun with the character.
The humor was great too. Not every joke was good but it never took long between one funny moment and the other

Went with my dad who generally finds superhero movies too corny and cliche, and he really liked this. He missed like half of the references but was still laughing frequently

My dad didn't get any of the jokes or references and he looked bored. :(

I'll make up for it by taking him to a local film next time.

Yeeeahh, so I did not warm up to the movie. Chuckled a couple of times but that's it. Well, not for everyone I guess.

That was pretty solid, though a little shallow. It gets away with it though because it doesn't take itself seriously at all. I enjoyed it quite a bit but I'm kinda expecting it to be my least favorite comicbook movie this year. It's gonna be a good year :-)

Dead pool x Colossus Moments were the best, my favorite parts of the movie, I've never cared about colossus before but he was such an adorable dufus in this.

God this whole movie was so much better than the trailers made it looks.

Saw it last night in IMAX. I like that the villain was pretty generic, they didn't need to waste a lot of time explaining him so we could focus more on Deadpool. Didn't need the romance, thought I guess it didn't hurt anything.

In truth, I thought this movie was a little too serious. I wanted to laugh more at stuff that didn't matter. Over all I liked it a quite a bit.

How about no kiddos seeing R-rated movies, period?

That's called NC-17 and it's a different rating.

Man we just got back and dear god the movie is amazing. Theater was just rolling with laughter. The action was well done too. So glad we're getting a sequel.

I just feel that the
scene where the knife gets stuck in his head, allowing him to see Cartoon animals and shit
isn't something I'd want a kid to see. It'd give them bad ideas.

It's forbidden under 12 here, no R-Rated material whatsoever, just jokes under pants ( lot of cursing but whatever ), it was an average movie to be honest, Deadpool is a good character but the origin part was too long and not really interesting, the sequel will be better.

We went today, best movie I've seen in a while. Even my wife, who wasn't going to even go, loved it.

There were a few people bringing in their kids, but thankfully not many.

So I don't know a whole lot about the comic book universe and marvel and such, but enjoy some of their films (GotG for instance I really liked, but not so much The Avengers). Trailer for this movie did nothing for me. Would you say the trailer represents the actual tone of the film, or is there more to it? Nothing against dirty juvenile jokes or whatever, I love South Park for instance, but the trailer made this seem less South Park and more 13-year old schoolground quips.

If the actual film feels more along the lines of South Park, I'm definitely interested. It's hard to explain lol, I don't mean for it to be exactly like South Park, but just the way that the low brow jokes are contextualised by the self-aware nature of the show.

Also worried that there'll be a lot of comic book references that may go over my head.

Just go watch it. Not sure how old you are, but growing up in the 80's will help you like this movie a lot more.

How's the Dead Pool game btw? Does the humour compare to the film at all? Really need another Dead Pool fix :P

It is definitely more over the top. The banter during game play can get a bit annoying at some points but the story is fairly standard Daniel Way Deadpool.

AMAZING MOVIE! holy crap!!!! The writing is so fucking dead on! I need to watch it again because I missed some of the jokes.

Yeah I felt the same way. I laugh at half the jokes by myself for the most part.

How about no kiddos seeing R-rated movies, period?

There are several R rated movies I would let 8 or 9 years olds go see (not this one though). Of course, that could be also because America has put very questionable ratings on quite a few movies.

But this film wasn't exactly a hard at all to be honest. I would definitely let anyone from the age 12 go see this film (though they probably won't get all the jokes in it).

Same here but we'll know how nudity works with Americans...

A friend of mine actually commented on it being too low. He loved the movie, but said he wouldn't show it to a kid. I don't know if I agree.

~12 Years is acceptable, I don't think it's reasonable to bring a kid under that age but it's definitely not a R-Rated movie, movies now are really bland or too childish, I love the old movies with people cursing, smoking etc... it's more real to me, more grounded but people are too offended for everything now, it's that age of time when everything hurt someone or something...

Just got back. Really enjoyed it, but it's not really the OMG SO GROUNDBREAKING, BEST SUPERHERO MOVIE EVER that some people are making it out to be. Still gonna buy it on Bluray so we can get a Cable and Deadpool movie.

Tell me about it. My family was more worried about there being "full frontal nudity" rather than the movie having decapitations when I was describing the movie to them. "Full frontal nudity" is only for X rated movies apparently.
