Despite Not Requiring PSN Account, Stellar Blade's PC Version Blocked in 130+ Countries - ShiftUp Were Not Aware

It's on PC.
Yes but Sony is the party that's forcing the block in non-supported regions. If ShiftUp were self publishing or going through a different publisher, this would not be occurring. And this all boils down to Sony not supporting certain regions with PSN. PC is the platform, Steam the delivery method, and Sony is the arbitrator that's refusing to sell to those regions.

The disc version of the PC game? We are talking about a Steam version.

and... he said it would be better if there were physical games instead of only digital options...
that's the point here. all digital has a lot of downsides. people who live in countries where it's blocked basically have to hope that it will be cracked and easy to pirate soon, as it's the only way to get it without risking a steam ban.

I don't care where the fuck up comes from. It's shit that only happens pn PC. The Joy of PC gaming! Hassle free!

That's like a list of the biggest shit holes on the planet.
Most of them were colonised(aka occupied/conquered) by westerners, so obviously they are very poor now when foreign enemy countries extracted all the wealth(and manpower sometimes too, aka slaves) for tens and sometimes even hundreds of years, my country began over milenia ago but we are still well behind the west(roughly 4-5x lower salaries) coz we lost our independence for 123 years, and not even 20 years later we were in the middle of ww2 :P, then even tho we won ww2 we were sold out by our allies to communists :P
Not every1 was born in rich western country, most of the world is poor af even if u compare them to 50k usd yearly salary guy :P

That's because they want to avoid bad press due to mandatory PSN account, but will enable it later so they're not releasing them in some countries to avoid a future mass refund situation and get in troubles with Valve again

Antarctica?! I feel bad for the few thousand scientists who live down there. Gotta be a lot of sexual frustration going on.

Is there a way to buy the game? I live in Vietnam and can't buy it. This is fucking stupid.

Can I buy key from Cdkeys and use it ?

You don't own it digitally. Denuvo is just a reminder.

Didn't Sony block those countries after users complained about psn ?

I feel sorry for Shift Up that this happened.
On the other hand, they took Sony's money and this is what happens when you make a deal with the devil.

You Sony guys are consistently showing your complete ass when it comes to pc gaming.

I know you feel threatened deep down but try to open your mind to more than one platform. You'll be better for it, I promise.

Poor residents of the Antarctic base; they won't be able to do their faps peacefully. Who are they trying not to offend? The penguins?

You realize this is Sony right, and that these same countries aren't supported by PSN on console either.
On PS5 I can pick any region. They don't give a shit there as they are selling their consoles worldwide. Even payments by card work and in my country Sony support told someone to choose the nearest region as there is no support for my region.

There's a country called "Chad"
Not only that, there's also "Lake Chad". More like a puddle these days, but some ten thousand years ago when Sahara was still a savannah, it was much bigger. And it was called, I shit you not, "Lake Mega-Chad".

Be that as it may, doesn't change the fact that PSN is unsupported in those regions.

using a VPN might work but its against TOS
That's not how Steam works, you can change address anywhere in the world as long as you have a means to provide payment in the local currency with a local billing address(most credit cards are region locked, but it's not impossible).
So no, no vpn is needed at any step.

It's still against 'tos' but then again so is buying a physical disc in another country and playing it back home. Region locking on physical media works the exact same way for same purposes.

I'm sure people in San marino are very poor and having an hard time...
Vatican City and especially Monaco are poor fuckers as well! lol
Serbia, Lithuania, Estonia, Latvia are kinda odd, being very much in Europe or in the EU. Some of these and all the other countries might not be big markets, but if Steam in principle does support them, Sony should also be able to. Just weird and simply dumb not to do it.

Yeah, that might be a reason....but its weird that Sony didnt region blocked any games when they started releasing on steam. It all just came up with the forced PSN shit. Than they took PSN off again, but kept the region locking. Looks to me that this is something Sony could easily remove...they might just need to advise steam accordingly. 🤷‍♂️

Imagine being this dense. Well, you do you.
He is just another sad fanboy that will likely get banned soon enough. He has to take potshots while he can. I mean, you can't even official buy a PS5 in any of those regions, but apparently PC gaming is the problem.

I don't understand what is the point of blocking the sale of a digital game in a certain country, I can understand maybe not considering to distribute a physical version because of costs/expected sales, but a digital copy? Even if only 1000 people buy it, it's free money.
Sometimes it's because of license/copyright. Chroma Squad was inspired by super sentai and then it got region locked in Asia because of Toei (the owner of super sentai)

It's blocked in those countries because regardless of PSN Linking being OPTIONAL, there is an unlockable you get for linking your PSN and since PSN isn't available in those countries, it will get blocked there.

Just fucking stupid.

It's probably the stupid MAU shenanigans. Sony wants to jack up the numbers for their investment talks and a Steam user with a PSN login basically counts for that.

And that other platform will never be that scamfest.
