Well, I made some good progress today. Got Titan to 30, Hunter to 29.

This weeks reset is going much better so far.

Crotas 1st Chest - shards / energy
Lamps - shards / energy, chest, arms
Bridge - shards / energy, legs
Crota - hunger of crota, sword breaker, shards / energy
NF - the calling (firefly and final shot), Monte Carlo

Still got one more NF to do and then all the VoG drops. But I can finally hit 32 once I get a few more shards or the long grind to 4 with Eris.

I'm down for hitting the Roc train some time this week and trying to see how fast we can do each strike, I know a few other gaffers who enjoy that as well. Really easy way to max Vanguard marks on all characters and lots of fun to boot.

It's hard to do when that weapon is touted as THE weapon, and for a good reason.
I think Bungie has a hard choice coming for them: for quite a long time now getting a überhorn was a reason for a lot of people to keep on playing, but one can only do that for so long without success. I see more and more people starting to get tired about this, and seeing how EVERYONE is nearly only talking about this weapon at reset, and Bungie themselves when talking about their holidays gift, I can understand them.
They will have to act on this at one point, either by nerfing the weapon, or by finally selling the damn thing at Xur.
Of course, this is Bungie we are talking about, so I don't really expect them to understand the players frustration...

It's not really a difficult game, but for a game with so many repetition and sponge bosses, a weapon helping considerably speed things up is understandably very desirable.
Ice breaker is the cheese / ease your life up weapon, Gjallarhorn is the speed up one.

I understand but the Gjallarhorn frenzy is out of control. It's kind of dumb really that in places like LFG people look for players with Gjallarhorns for Crota when it's still easy without one

Me too. I tried to quit, but can't stop. I'm like a gambling addict hitting the casino on payday every time there is a reset, hoping if I put it all down I will hit the big one.

Instead it's just a parade of lurkers coming out of the woodwork to proclaim their catch and other lucky assholes complaining about their 5th drop and dismantling it.

I feel ya bro. No luck with ghorn either.

Yeah, I'm slowing down for a bit. I'll pop on to check Xur and try the CE chest but I need a bit of a break before I drive myself crazy about it. Maybe take my time to level my hunter alt over the weekend.

Got the Red Hand IX I need some info on. Perks are Clown Cartridge, and bonus damage after a kill. The selection is stability, or faster aim which is meh. But it has explosive rounds.

Did I win the jackpot with the explosive rounds or is that perk standard?

Shout out to milfhouse, I finally got the Ghorn with his luck on first crota chest.

FINALLY, the horn is mine.

On a side note all 3 nightfall's were absolutely poor for me this week but I am not complaining due to getting the horn.

Hunter - Crappy Legendary,
Titan - 9 strange coins (not too bad, although I have like 120 of them now).

If it's just a random drop then there are no standard perks. Personally I'm not huge on explosive rounds but I know a lot of people dig them.

Nightfall rewards were pretty crappy this week. Got my 4th The Cure, Badger CCL scout rifle and another legendary weapon I can't even remember. Might have been another The Cure...

Crota saved the week, though. Finally got a raid helmet!
Now I can hit 32 on two characters with the third one only missing chest or helmet but already at 31. (All 3 are Warlocks... Don't judge me!)
I also got a second Hunger of Crota. I'm now at the point where I only need two more Ice Breakers to never have to swap gear or weapons again.

Explosive rounds give noticeably less damage output, but it staggers the hell out of people in PvP, such a nasty perk.
