Got a friend who will do one run.
Need 2 more.

Noomi, Ocean I can't see you guys online.

I have normal gate keeper checkpoint too.

I'll be online in about 5 min, just finishing up some stuff around the house really quickly before we get started and while the group fills up.

Raise glimmer cap to 50k, at least (vs 25k)
Allow ammo stacks to stack to 100 each, at least (vs 20)
Allow destination mats to stack w/ no cap (like raid mats)
Decrease mission items inventory and add to consumables or materials inventory
Add 2nd page to vault
Allow us to pick up and turn in bounties via B.net and the app
Allow us to buy items from Xur via B.net and the app
Create vendor whose sole purpose is to allow for trades/conversions of all items

BOOM. VAULT FIXED. GAME FIXED.

Let me know who I need to send my paypal information to. Will also accept cash.

Take your logic and get out.

Allow factions to accept both Crucible and Vanguard marks
Share marks across characters like glimmer

Your ideas would make it so you never have to go to the tower which...I am okay with but Bungie is probably not. :lol

Well the tower is a menu as of now. Not really a "social space" as they intended in my experience.

It would need some incentive to go there, at minimum:

-Gambling mini-games/casino (Pazaak?)
-Player run shops (not weapons or armors, this is one is a bit iffy)
-Firing test range
-Player apartments (Forge-mode style decorations using gear that you've won)
-Grimoire area, with NPCs with branching dialogue (like mass effect citadel)
-Gunsmith overhaul for customization and upgrade of weapons and transmogrification, etc.
-Spectator mode for Crucible matches - with gambling (like Smash bros 4)
-Raid LFG bounty board

Did you guys end up grouping up to raid?

I did not, I feel asleep for a few hours, wound up waking up later and running the nightfalls/weekly with my normal crew for those. If any one wants to get a group together for Crota / Aethon kills tonight I would be up for it (literally this time).

That's any town in any RPG, though, which is sort of how I think of Destiny. Head to town for quests and gear. I do agree they need to get the "social" injected into the social hub. The Tower is a sterile, non-interactive space where there's no story incorporation nor much human interaction.

Edit: went back and found it, wasn't what I remembered. Nevermind!

Having a vendor that allows for trade-ins/conversions (like eris) would be enough reason ALONE to make me still go there.

But they should absolutely improve some of the other vendors, particularly the gunsmith and cryptarch. Gunsmith's inventory is complete crap and cryptarch, for some reason, STILL only sells white and green engrams. Improve the inventory for both and, in addition to the trade vendor/eris, you'd still have reason to go to the tower... amongst the other "social" aspects, which could also be vastly improved (LFG etc).

- Gunsmith should have "sales" during random times for weapons, ammo and engrams. Weapon skins should be sold here. You should be able to re-roll weapon upgrades here. And all purchases should have multiple purchase options (not always just glimmer).
- Cryptarch should sell rare engrams occasionally and legendary engrams on rare occasions, with limits (ie can only buy up to 3 blues and 1 purple while in stock).
- You'd also still use the tower for emblem and class item purchases.
- A grimoire showcase of some kind in the tower would also be very useful as would the LFG board I've seen mentioned here plenty of times.

The tower is a complete waste of time right now and we only go there because we have to. They've already made item transfers much easier which has reduced my time in the tower significantly, so they're headed in the right direction, but keeping the tower a necessary pit stop with the current offerings/features just because sucks.

Destiny 2, etc etc etc

(My original post showed a few VERY easy solutions to very real problems that would not require most of the stuff I'm talking about here.)

Forgot I grabbed this shot last night. I think it's captscience but not sure, just thought it was cool looking.

I've wondered about the Cryptarch for a while. The description in the UI says we need to reach higher ranks to unlock better engrams for sale. But...that's not how it works. But it totally should be.

Move exotic bounties to missions sections. I think eris and any other future dlc character that gives us stuff too do should go to the mission section as well. That's how the queens stuff was.

Have vendor weapons reroll every Tuesday. And what others have said, allow factions to accept vanguard marks.

I remember one day when b.net showed the cryptarch had a legendary engram for sale. Everyone freaked out and ran to the tower and, of course, it wasn't there. Thought it was odd b.net had it listed though.

With this, they would have to change the way weekly marks work since they're capped at 100 and weapons cost 150. Sharing mats across characters could work, but they should just reduce the price of weapons if they were to reset the perks this often. I'd be ok with once or twice a month. Certainly better than what it is right now.

That's good to know. I had looked it over and missed the perk that improves stability.

I do tend to stick to Mida, but I also keep my NITC with firefly on hand for when I swap to an exotic, though it's usually a special purpose situation. The Templar fight is a good example; I'm usually on anti-sniper duty and run out of ammo with some frequency.

I actually prefer the NITC to the Mida in terms of feel and feedback - blowing dudes up with headshots comes in handy and feels so good - but the speed perks on Mida are addicting. I feel slow now when I'm not using it. It sure makes soloing the Abyss easier.
Ooh, Firefly. Such a great perk, I've got a Badger CCL with Firefly and it's great to use. I know you have rotten luck with weapon drops, but I highly recommend trying for Vision of Confluence in the Vault of Glass before House of Wolves comes along and makes the weapon damage useless (or maybe it won't, wishful thinking). I may like VoC better than MIDA, and that's saying a lot.

These are some spectacular ideas, seriously. The apartment idea is a little far-fetched, but the concept applied to a physical Vault would be something I could get behind.

The Cryptarch's Bane
Yes, but it's just soooooo good. From nailed the sound and impact.
Yeah, but I felt that was true about a number of the critical animations in previous games, some definitely more than the visceral attack.

The main advantage it actually brings is mechanical, in that you could really only backstab and riposte humanoid enemies, whereas so far as I can tell anything can be hit with a visceral attack including bosses, so that's a big deal.
How many such animations does DaS2 have?
I don't know, a bazillion.

Nat has VoC. I'm very, very jealous, it's awesome. I just got my first primary weapon with a burn (the CE pulse rifle), so naturally there are no burns this week. I only run VoG ~once per week, so odds are low I'll bag it. But it would be nice.

If you need bodies and good cheer (but not much else xD), my level 29 Warlock wouldn't mind a chance at some raid armor. Almost up to 30. Few more bounties, and I'm there.

Do you run the whole raid or just checkpoints? I love playing that whole raid, but if it comes down to it, I'll just run the Atheon checkpoint at the end of the week (or whenever people need another. I still want/need Fatebringer, so I'm always up for HM shenanigans.

Definitely love the idea of gambling/mini-games in a social space. Perfect for players who are just "shooting the breeze" at the Tower waiting for other players or just goofing off. Even URU (Myst Online) had a variant of roshambo that could be played by up to five players. Maybe even events like Sparrow racing that could only be formally accessed through the Tower (and possibly wagered on too).

Also really like the idea of the firing range. This was a great addition to Mass Effect 3 and it would be a wonderful addition to Destiny. In general, you're right in that I would love to see more Mass Effect pseudo-RPG elements come into play with the NPCs around the Tower.

Apartments... meh. Cool idea, but likely not feasible. Besides, aren't our jumpships essentially vehicles AND living quarters (regardless of how cramped they may be)?

Destiny 2 (maybe even Comet) has got to have custom Crucible matches no? Obviously they would have to be outside of rep/rewards, but that would extend the life of the game immensely. Anyone who's played Halo in the last 5-7 years would recognize this.

The Cryptarch's Bane
DS2 Seemed to cut down on them too. DS1 had the best. Club parry/crit was ridiculously satisfying.
True. But the DS2 changes to dual-wielding and powerstance made it my favorite for my playstyle overall. I thought it was a good compromise, there was still a wide variety.

The switch weapons in BB are possibly my favorite combat element in any of the games so far though, and I definitely like the notion that I can use visceral attacks on any enemy. It's interesting that it's independent of weapon damage too. I just wish there were a handful of different animations to go around depending on your equipped weapon or something.

Also, Destiny!
If you attempt to sign up for an activity and find it already full, but would like to be put on the list as an Alt if someone cannot make it, please send me a PM here on GAF or a PSN message (ID is Hawkian).

Thursday - 4/9 - 9:00PM EST - Vault of Glass Newbie Raid - Sign Up Here (4 spots left)

These are weekly raids available to all, but intended for newbies. Bring your highest leveled character, your best weapon, and your most patient self! All encounters will be explained (quickly, but still) as though it was a brand new group, so please be willing to listen. There is no pressure to understand anything before having it explained, and no pointing fingers when things break down. We will laugh at ourselves when we wipe, and then do better the next attempt.

Raids alternate each week between the Vault of Glass and Crota's End.

Minimum level for Vault of Glass Normal is 26.
Minimum level for Crota's End is 30.

Sunday- 4/12 - 9:00PM EST - Sunday Sword School - Sign Up Here (3 spots left)

Swordbearer practice and technique for taking down Crota, as well as tips and preparation for Hard Mode. Please be familiar with the basic mechanics of the encounter. Get your hands on the sword in a stress-free environment!
We'll establish an order and have a different person take up the sword each time, wiping before ogres. After everyone has had a shot, we'll maintain the rotation and go for the actual class kill.

No chalice! Come prepared with some method of healing yourself- preferably a helm with the "Infusion" perk. Other options include: Being a Titan (using your bubble heals you), Red Death/SUROS Regime, Life Steal on Voidwalker, Hungering Blade on Bladedancer.

Minimum level is 31.

VoC is terrific. I didn't get my first one until, literally, a month ago... but man, it's worth going through the vault to try and obtain it....
i got it after i got almost every other vault weapon, including the rare Praetorian Foil... figure that one out. i couldn't

Same here, got my first VoC only 2 months ago..it refused to drop for me over 100 Atheon kills.

For Destiny 2, Bungie really need to look at hiring a larger "non-shooty-bang team" for this kind of NPC stuff. It's an RPG shooter after all. There needs to be something deep for the down time, imo.

Nice shot!

I had several people ask me about my shader yesterday while hosting Gorgons. It seems people have forgotten about good ol' Chatterwhite.

Yep, Chatterwhite looks great on the Titan CE armor. I switch between it, Thunderdevil and Sunsetting.
