I can cap at 25,000 glimmer in just over an hour. Spend all of it at the cryptarc for around +500 exp. Then decode the crap you found during the hour farm. Things go pretty quick from there.

He levels by decrypting found engrams or decrypting engrams you buy from him.

I don't have much free time to play, so I'm only a Level 14 right now. Always struggling with what little glimmer I can scrounge up.

Dunno if that's actually the specific condition, but it's true that if you're out of ammo you'll be given a resupply after some time. Discovered this in the beta against the walker in Devil's Lair lol.

That would've been helpful to know last night in the weekly level 26 strike. Was constantly running out of sniper ammo.

Farming mobs on a moon mission with glimmer boost active and having the Grimoir leveled up from doing it for hours. Here is a link and youtube video for the farm.

Tried a bit of Nexus farming last night and it's nowhere near as good as just doing the chest farming on Earth, never got any Legendary engrams in any chests (plenty of rare though) but one dropped from just killing the enemies around me. You have the chance of public events that way too.

The fastest way to rank up in the crucible is turning in spinmetal while chest farming.
TONS more loot, chance to do public events which get you rare ascendant materials and you can get 150 of the things per hour to exchange for rep+marks.

This is the best way to get legendary engram's in the game right now. So if you really want them... do this. I found it extremely boring though and only lasted about 15 minutes.

You're right...but they've also designed it so that better loot is literally the only form of progression post-20. So for goal oriented people who purely thrive off a sense of progression, the game does become really boring really quickly.

I'm awful, I mostly play fighting games and decided to check this out. The only way I can get any kills is either by assists or vehicle kills on Mars maps. Will give it another try tonight.

I've been there man. You have to learn the maps. Its the footsies game in shooters. Once you learn the flow of a map, you can be more prepped for encounters.

Yup. I see all this farming talk and I just can't relate. I love getting that next big loot score as much as anyone else, but I want to have fun in the process. If you enjoy farming then more power to you, but if you don't enjoy it, I'd definitely encourage you to just play the game for fun and be patient.

I really think it's truly random, but I think it makes people feel better if they're doing absolutely nothing? In like a protest to randomness?

I saw several people mention that Bungie is pretty no tolerance to AFK stuff so at some point they'll probably get banned or progress wiped or something.

Holy moly, can you imagine getting progress wiped in this game??
