How do I activate it

Go to the left statue closest to the CoO and see if it asks you to Present a Rune. The first statue accepts Reciprocal runes, the second are Stolen Runes IIRC.

You have to be the one to actually start the event by using a rune. Anyone can play, but only the person that used the rune at the start gets the engrams from the chest.

My game has been crashing a LOT in strikes when I use the FWC Handcannon with firefly. Now that I think about it, it crashed during explosions when a lot of shit was going down at least a couple of those times.

We find the Cabal in the ship sending a signal deep into space, without knowing what was receiving it, and Zavala intones we will probably find out soon. It was very similar in feel to the Shrine of Oryx mission, that foretold the arrival of Oryx.

I've seen a few potential hooks left in TTK, but one really jumped out.

Nope, they are the only person guaranteed to get loot. I've gotten engrams from the chest without using a rune, but it doesn't happen very often.
