Hahaha back_speed is a true maverick, it isn't a raid without himI hate players who keep on swearing and cursing, especially at other players if someone makes a mistake. It's a game ffs.
I know a few players who get angry at back_speed cause he doesn't listen

It all depends on the perspective. yes it's a single event probability, but it's that for every possible reward from a drop/chest. It would be remarkable to go 100 raids without getting boots. so you can say with great certainty that if someone did 100 raids they would get boots at least once. I've done 6 raids, gotten boots 3 time, and 2 mythoclasts. 0 helmets, 0 chest pieces, 2 gauntlets (i think 2, may only be 1).

Question, what do u guys run with your vex mythoclast for pvp and pve? Increased mag (56 shots!) or increased distance? I keep switching between the 2... Still cant decide the one i like more...

Xyor is easy cheese solo. use the backroom, despawn adds, Xyor comes to you, just takes time. also i play as sunsinger so that could be why it's easy.

What he said was correct... Every role is another chance and with enough chance the probability that one of those chances comes good rises until it is improbable that he doesn't get what he wants. He never said that each singular chance increases in probability.
Striker Titans with the first grenade perk will work too.

Not really. That's not how single-event probability works. It's the same probability for your 1st raid to your 100th. The game doesn't care how many raids you've done or that it will eventually reward you in the future for all your past shortcomings.
I've been 29 since the week after the game released... It was frustrating for a while seeing people that played less/completed the raid fewer times get 30 before me but honestly it really doesn't matter. Hard raid can still be done quickly at level 29 and that's the only level 30 activity in the game.
Plus the first expansion is supposed to increase the level cap anyway....
I got almost all of the exotic guns I want which is the more important thing to me

I don't think it's in my dna any more to stay up until the am hours. That 5am alarm clock has taken my soul and told me that I have to get sleepy by 10, lights out by 11 :/ Me and Jdirty24 have been watching a good bit of youtube videos of the raid (ones by datto, etc) but I can't help but feel like wtf are they doing what is going on in there! I figured it would make more sense once you're in it. I'm more than willing to listen to any vets and will comply the best I can.
^To the people above that don't like taking raid newbies, that is completely understandable. But, not everyone is looking to be carried by some knight in shining armor to the land of mad loots and shards. I feel like I'm absolutely able to hold my own at anything I've done in the game thus far. I just haven't done the raid yet. I'm sure there are other people in here lurking and posting that haven't done it yet either that feel intimidated by it but really want to give it a whirl. Not talking about people just wanting to cheese the last boss on hard mode. Some of us want to do it legit and understand what to do and be good at it.

OK, dumb question, but how do you join a clan? I thought I was doing that when I joined a random DestinyGAF group on Bungie.net. I tried doing it another way, and now I'm part of two GAF groups, but I don't have a clan tag while playing, nor does it say that I belong to one on the site.

I think it's a good idea for people who've never done the Raid to go with people who've got at least a little experience. But if you've watched videos and know what to do, I suppose you could go in with 5 other new people. The Raid is easily the best piece of content in Destiny so I hope you get to play it one way or another.
No disrespect to you or anyone for liking this, but seeing this flying around just doesn't work for me.
Here's the thing, a minor irritant for me, there are lots of ships with colour swaps and the design of the ships are similar. It's like the ships were all designed from the same design school, there's little or no regional, national, cultural of aesthetic distinction in the design of the ships - little variety, or at least so far.
I like this game but I hate it at the same time. It's really weird. I'll try to compile my thoughts in a later post.

Thanks Golgo! I definitely do not know what to do. I know what people that are playing the raid on youtube do, but that is way different than doing it yourself. It's like watching a porn or something. Just because they can last more than 2 minutes doesn't mean I can!

That's the thing - I don't go in to work until 9:30/10, so I don't have to get up until 8:30 or so. If I had to get up at 5 am, I'd be in bed by 10/11 too.
Tbh,even after I watched the raid videos, I still didn't know wtf was going on really until I actually did the raid. Whenever I go with newbies, I usually just give a 10 second fight overview and then say "experience is the best teacher, let's go". Even if we wipe that first time, you'll understand better.

Ok, imagine you flip a coin and want (nay, deserve!) heads to come up. With one flip you have a 50% chance of getting what you want. I love going through it with Noobs. Makes me feel like I can make more mistakes without getting ribbed for it. Also, it's fun to hear people go on about "this is great, if only the rest of the game was like this". That said, sometimes you only have a couple of hours and want to bang it out quick with a group of high leveled experienced folks.
