The plot thickens. OT8 going out with a bang my friends. I'll get popcorn. Not knowing what happened I can't really add anything to this but assuming that's what happened it was either very uncool or just not properly communicated.
Okay, so after a day of crap drops, I managed to scrap together 23 motes by 4:15 am (45 min to Xur despawning) and grabbed the engram. I got No Backup Plans. I see them mentioned a lot, but I'm wondering if there's something I'm missing, besides being sweet looking and working nicely with my melee build. I've currently got the Armamentarium and the Helm of Saint-14 ahead of No Backup Plans on my exotic leveling schedule. Should I bump them up?
I hope you used the in game reporting function! I always make a point of doing it, positive or negative. Not sure how it helps but it makes me feel better at least.
I wouldn't. I got them early on and ran with them only until I got my hands on an Armamentarium. The extra Force Barrier effect is nice, but an extra grenade is nicer

So for those whose clocks went back last night it looks like Destiny didn't care and the new daily reset time is now 9am UK time, not 10?
haha, I did the same thing and I didn' t even really want it, it's atheon's epilogue I really, really want, instead I keep receiving dupe gear and other raid weapons.

They look cool but it's hard to imagine a build that really benefits more from this item than an Exotic chest or helm. I think it's just a shortcut to L30 for people who don't have Raid Gauntlets. I have my Armamentarium and No Backup Plans at +30. That way I don't have to wait on Raid Gauntlets AND Chest; one or the other will be enough for me to reach level 30.
Also, they look badass.

Why would a coin help?
I really wish Atheon cheese will be fixed soon, people are starting to act like rabid dogs. I did it about 8 times for other groups this week and always do it solo but every time i try to help a player on my friendslist there is someone random in a group knowing a better method even though they were stuck on it for almost 2h, ignorance is a bliss. If i encounter those situations i do not bother getting in to discussions and move on. The moment i needed some help wth the cheese with my fresh 28 lvl titan i asked people if they can help with their warlocks, they turn up as a different class and still have the audacity to ask me why do i not use my warlock? Are you for real? End result i was forced to cheese completly on my own with my titan, and for the people repeating to me that you can not manouver around him while being solo - i did it via remote play.
You need to buy something from Xur for one Coin as part of that bounty.

All I can guess is some exotic bounties have a step where you have to buy something off xur for about a coin to progress. Like with bad juju.

It's alright I guess. It has nothing on double-grenades though. I just love the way it looks on my Titan using the Thunderdevil dark grey shader.

If someone accused me of that and it wasn't true, it would be the epitome of "worth starting something over." Besides, it was already started when he posted about it. Either defend yourself (as is your right, of course) or apologize.
This is the correct response to these situations.
Matchmaking should account for number of raid clears as well. Simple way to get experienced raiders together and avoid high level players being frustrated by inexperienced players.

As for what happened: We decided to use my atheon checkpoint and cheese him after struggling on the gatekeepers. When i joined i think they'd already been at it for hrs. We were close but it wasn't working. You claimed to be able to do it, then admitted you didn't, then switched back to claiming to have done it on normal. Two of the fire team had played with you before and agreed with that assessment and the decision was made.
Now that said you still have the atheon checkpoint and seemingly toms of ppl to run it with you. Again I feel bad about it and won't attempt to justify it further and will also not go into any alleged behavior or actions (I'm assuming due to sleep dep). No hard feelings.

Gunslinger is for killing ppl right after a weapon switch I believe. Strength of the wolf is ten kills for your team with no one dying.

Cheesing Atheon is extremely easy and just requires some cooperation/luck on behalf of his AI. It's not some magic strat that requires lots of experience. If there was seriously no one in the group who knew the intended technique, then people should have just looked online real quick to learn and actually help the cause. Normal vs. hard doesn't matter.
That's what I hate about cheesing, it's the ultimate "please carry me to free loot." Not surprising if that type of team couldn't beat GKeepers since it's the only legit challenging phase currently.
I don't need loot but I can help do it if you need people, I have a 29 Warlock, done it many times by now. PSN is DrDrizzay101.

After playing it yesterday a number of times and being on the Alpha side, I have seen the light. Must have been on the Bravo side too many times. It (B's spawn point) definitely should be spaced out further.

what's the deal with people farming the beginning of the devil's lair now? one level 30 in my group is sitting still at the spawn and the other is still there running around in circles.

One of the better guides to farming spin metal is in that area, and the youtube guide suggests starting the Devils Strike to reach that area quickly rather than the patrol option.
Unfortunately, that means people are incredibly stupid and just select the strike rather than choosing private fireteam,s so you end up with idiots in your group who have no intention on doing the strike.
(Or they are doing a bounty which requires you to complete a strike without dying, and that's a really lazy way of getting it).

Makes you wish for a kick option.
There IS a youtube video out there for farming spinmetal and he says to start at the Devil's Lair strike, which is a douchy thing to do even if it's the normal strike. Just start at patrol and take 30 seconds to drive your sparrow to the rocketyard.

So, guys Ive got a checkpoint at the templar oracles spot in hard. Looking for help a bit later this morning after the lady and I get back from breakfast. Im a level 30 warlock and would like to at least take out the templar for a chance at Fatebringer. If anyone can help or wants to start Hard raid at that point, add Greenymac on psn...
I hate those bounties, not only does it require a few variables outside of your control, but it comes to a point where it stops being a goal to achieve or a thing that happens over time, and is just taking up a bounty space, Bungie need to either up the bounty limit or seperate the bounty slots between vanguard and crucible (either way, I'm calling for the limit to be raised to 10.)
- Vault of Glass normal suggested 26 for entry, Atheon is 28.
- Vault of Glass hard suggested is 30, door is 28 and rest 30.
This makes me think that for Crota it will be suggested for entry 28 [according leak] so Crota will be 30 boss on normal.
Hard more than likely will be suggested 32.
