Hi.

Anyone knows if the japanese retail version of Devil May Cry 4: Awesomeness Edition has english subtitles? (scenes, menú, etc.)

I looked at the tweets. He's mostly talking about the Concentration gauge. Nothing new except apparently Vergil's Million Cuts move has three stages, and it finishes with a Issen-type maneuver. Dunno if this is determined by Concentration or if its the duration you hold the button.

Edit: Looks like I was mistaken. It was referring to Yamato's combos, which has three variants, which we already knew. Looks like Vergil's Million Cuts is still without an official name, unless it's just called Yamato Combo III.

It should, going by the original DMC4 release.

Plus, it'd be kind of odd for Capcom to have the Japanese retail and special editions as prizes for the DmC:DE true style tournament they're running, otherwise...

I sure hope so. It make sense but we are talking about Capcom so...

Thanks a lot Trelll!

It'll have subtitles? I wasn't sure if the original DMC4 release actually had subtitles/English menus or just English VAs.

But you're right. It would definitely make sense since they're giving the Japanese release as rewards.

Actually, I feel like that's something Gregaman might be able to confirm.

From DMC official japanese Twitter account (some tweets are from Itsuno).

They looked fairly bad in previous shots we've seen as well, but Vergil's offensive, bright snakeskin-ish pants are really apparent there. A weird choice, specially since everything else is so close to his DMC3 design.

The previous versions had a similar, but far more subtle pattern; as well as a better choice of colour. Perhaps this was intended to be a reference to his DmC costume?

Vergil has a very serpent-like motif going on doesn't he? Snake on his coat, snake pattern on the bottom of his boots, two snakes on Yamato's tsuba and his snakeskin trousers. He's even described as having a cold blooded personality. It's very cool.

Yeah, i love How everything is well designed around His personality.
Dante the demon hunter and Vergil the demon Snake.

Odd and a bit trollish tbh.

So far Vergil seems like the best of both worlds. The sheer amount of moves per weapon that Nero has, but with multiple weapons like Dante.

Yeah, but air Version of normal moves makes me think more about Bayonetta imo. I'd like Dante to get air stinger Too.

Nero did it first. Then Bayonetta blew the lid open by adding 360 inputs and more and having everything be performable mid-air. Frankly every character should have a full set of mid-air attacks, and ideally the mid-air versions should be different from the ground ones.

Yah when we saw that aerial lunar phase I think we all assumed that would be the case. All he needs is some kind of cool just frame timing dodge and we're golden. Though he has teleports so I doubt that will happen. What other moves do you guys think might have varying properties based on timing? I recall judgement cut might have some just frame timing...

The just frame timing on Judgment Cut was something from DmC. I don't think it will happen here, Judgment Cut works differently for OG Vergil and they want the motivation factor to buff up Judgment Cuts.

Just Frame teleport dodges in DMC3 rewarded with Style meter, even if there was no visual indication, flair, or other utility. At the very least, that'll probably be a thing. It might also increase his Concentration faster.
