You are still acting like its a conspiracy and PS4 could have ran it better easily but they decided against it.You are still not making sense. They have shared engines (abstracted from the hardware), shared assets, etc. Then they optimize for performance, there is no single build for two different consoles. They are obviously spending more time getting the XB1 to 1080P, something the PS4 probably did no sweat. So with finite resources they spend a disproportionate amount of time on the smaller of two platforms to achieve parity. If they spent equal man-hours on both, the PS4 would perform better. Has the PS4 version even changed from alpha to release? I guess it was so easy they just shit it out and left it.

People don't buy a lot of things for a lot of reasons.
But if people are upset about parity (alleged parity, final game will reveal if both versions are identical), we can discuss why parity is bullshit.

This exactly how people feel. At least put sprinkles on the ice cream.People don't buy a lot of things for a lot of reasons.

Achieving parity has certainly give me doubts about my purchase.
I worked damn hard to get money to pay for my games, if a dev can't do the same then fuck em.
More like embarrassingIts funny though.
Maybe Bungie at an initial stage of development set a target for how they wanted the game to look. They got the PS4 to that stage and then have used their remaining resources to try and push the X1 up to that level. Which it appears they may have done.
Is this something people are against?

I don't think people are against it, but when there's a power difference there it gives Bungie extra to work with and I think people are annoyed that it's not being taken advantage of.
I don't think there's a conspiracy here. Bungie didn't even max out 360. Their Halo games didn't look that good on the system compared to other games.
Are you really going to imply that the devs of Destiny are not working as hard as you did?
X1 version looks darker for the most part.
Gamespot put up a video comparison.

Not many differences. X1 version looks darker for the most part.

I started playing the XB1 beta today after having played the PS4 version for the last week. The framerate is very smooth, just like the latest PS4 build. I did feel that loading took longer when going to the tower for the first time, but I have a hybrid drive in my PS4 so that comparison may not be fair. It definitely seems to be darker overall, which made some sets of stairs harder to see. What's funny is that I see more pop-in on the XB1, but in some areas it's better than on PS4. I guess I'd call that one a wash.
I don't think anyone will be disappointed on either console.
I don't think it's a case of Bungie not bothering to take advantage of the extra power. I think it's more likely that the PS4 has achieved their target. So they are now focusing their remaining resources on bringing the other platforms as close to that target as possible.
I almost wonder if Bungie has some back door deal with their buddies at Microsoft, that's the only reason I can think there'd be parity between the two games. Old partnerships die hard, I bet Activision doesn't even know about it. Shady...Achieving parity has certainly give me doubts about my purchase.

Oh there is a loading difference. The load times are longer on the xbone without a doubt. That's the first thing I noticed and my PS4 is a stock PS4. So that's another area that the PS4 version is ahead of the Xbone. Not surprising really either. I fully expected it to be honest.

I Am using an external drive on my xbone and it loads much faster.
parity exists because the sheer amount of resources need to split assets across 4 platforms is needlessly great.

So Bungie aims low.
Is that really so much better than being lazy?

I don't understand where this expectation has come from, that a game on a given platform MUST use all available power, or the developer is lazy.
How many games last gen used every bit of power each console had to give? For the first year of their lives, were people saying "this is shitty because there is resources for it to look better?"
How does that factor into titles that do not use top tier graphical features? Does no one buy them then? Never played any indie games?
This is a childish attitude of "mine isn't better than yours, and it should be because X is bigger than Y"
I get that it is possible for them to make the PS4 version look better, but why should they? Why is there an expectation that can should be must?
People need to remember that they are making one game, not four. This position is petty.
What's your opinion on the 360 version looking better than the PS3 version?I get that it is possible for them to make the PS4 version look better, but why should they? Why is there an expectation that can should be must?
You are still acting like its a conspiracy and PS4 could have ran it better easily but they decided against it.
or your expectation of the ps4's power is way too high.
What's your opinion on the 360 version looking better than the PS3 version?
It's no conspiracy, should be pretty clear since the ps4 is around 50% more powerful..
Could you elaborate without alluding to what "some people may be thinking"?even if it was 50 .. specs don't scale linearly to output performance. There is no way to benchmark these consoles correctly.
not saying its not more powerful than the xbone. I am saying it might not be as powerful as some people may be thinking.
Could you elaborate without alluding to what "some people may be thinking"?
I don't know what some people may be thinking. I only know what I think. But I don't know what you think some people may think.
Your first post certainly implies something, but I would rather you explain it than have me make up what I think you think. ;-)

What I don't get is how do these games look so alike? The ps4 being 50% more powerful and all. If they switched the labels in the videos I would believe it. Maybe my eyes are so used to 720p idk.

50% more powerful? Where did you hear that? PS4 also has a slower CPU (everyone loves to forget that) which is a typical bottleneck, no?
I'm confused by the DF statements. At first the Kinect reserve is not enough to bridge the gap, yet in the bottom of the post, it says the Xbox One's version will be corrected at release with no apparent sacrifices made to the visuals for 1080p?????
I think what he means is that the performance delta between the two platforms is not as great as the raw numbers lead the average person to think. That there are things about MS's system architecture not fully understood, and there are things about Sony's as well, that bring the two systems into balance. That's right, Pixelexic?
I don't know if I call myself a complainer. Given the hypothetical that was brought forth in the discussion where they are absolutely equal, then I would think that was quite odd. I'd expect one to use a more expensive AA implementation, given the relative ease with which you can change post-processing implementations. Was just thinking about the "parity" topic. I've seen it a lot. So I am wondering how much MORE do the people complaining think the ps4 can really do?
I find it hard to believe the 10% bump would be enough to cover the cost of upgrading to 1080p without any comprimises. but if that is the case, then it's likely that the game isn't that optimised for the PS4's extra GPU power.
And with 4 platforms to develop for, I can understand why they would just leave it as it is. Destiny 2 being current gen only should help get around that.
