"It's not fair to compare these two handhelds that came out three years apart"

"Instead lets wait 3 years for something new to come out and then compare those"

Switch 2 haters moving the goalposts list:

-Is going to be a Switch Pro less powerful than the PS4
-Is going to be less powerful than the Steamdeck
-Steamdeck is a 2022 handheld and the Switch 2 is $450 Great achievement.
-Is going to be less powerful than the PS4 Pro lol keep dreaming
-Of course is going to be better than consoles from 2013
-120hz screen for a Nintendo Handheld lolol Hopium
-No way is going to be close to the Series S 0% chance

-Lol… is Running PS5/Series 60fps games at 30fps … Not surprised at all<- We are here.

Bought the game last week and started playing on Friday. Five or six hours in, I ordered the switch 2 version to play at work and with kid 2 on the way in early October, it will give me more possibilities to play at home, too.
PS Portal doesn't work as reliably at work as I wish it would, so back to mostly playing on the Switch 2 it is.
The Portal will be used on the couch when the wife has the TV.
The game is a lot of fun. Yeah, the main character looks weird and isn't very likable. The writing could be better. Disjointed missions and tasks as far as I can tell after couple of hours. But man, it's just dumb fun. Actually the best Star Wars game I've played so far just for the fact that I am an open world fan and they somehow captured the Star Wars atmosphere to my liking. I can inhabit a little place in this world for a time. Of course it could be better, denser... But for me it's enough to enjoy my time with it immensely.
Jedi Fallen Order I finished, it was alright, just not my kind of game. Survivor I started, but put down after ten hours or so. I remember back in the day games on N64 I enjoyed, one SNES if I remember right? The one on 360/PS3 I can't remember the name, where you play as Vader's disciple or something. It was alright.
So yeah, I'm gushing how good this game is, just not on Reddit. And maybe it's still honeymoon period and I'll bounce off it. But I still want to experience it on switch 2 to see how good of a port it is and what this neat little device is capable of. Looking forward to it, it complements the PoE2 sessions atm nicely 👍🏻 call me 'the problem' for paying for a key card and putting money in Ubisofts Pocket (can't even remember the last game from them I played, maybe unity or division 🤫)
Yeah I was on the fence about this too. I just picked it up a few days ago after a number of people who bashed the game were now saying it got fixed up with being able to shoot if you get caught and then the switch 2 performance.

I had written the game off as total Disney woke slop, due to the main character, but I wrote a thread to get some opinions on if there was any woke content (similar to vielgaurd, avowed, etc..) or if it was a mary sue similar to the sequel trilogy and they said outside of the main character's look and some female storm troopers it was not woke and had good atmosphere from the OG era star wars and good gameplay.

As someone who loves stealth , open world games, and OG Star Wars, plus that this was only a 20gb install size for switch 1 price, I bit the bullet and bought it. So far I am pleasantly surprised.
I never had a problem with the hair cut. I actually like 70s and 80s feathered looks, but i am GenX and was alive back then, it doesn't seem odd to me. The face is weird, but really it's not that bad. She could of been made to look like a dude (the new fable character, the now cancelled perfect dark game mc, mass effect andromeda, outer worlds, etc...) Compared to those games she is fine, and feminine. She doesn't sound like Brienne of Tarth or the Returnal lady.

Outside of that it seems good. I am not far in but the gameplay is solid. The framerate hasn't dipped once and It looks great. Switch 2 hopefully gets more ports like this to go with original games. So far all my switch 2 games have been great, Dk Bonanza, cyberpunk, braverly default, RMX fusion, Hogwarts, Shadow Labyrinth.

Probably the first Ubisoft game I bought since AC Valhalla rubbed me the wrong way (Far cry 5 before that was kind of piss easy too)

That sounds like a good first impression.
My Switch 2 version should arrive end of the week, early next week at the latest. Looking forward to it. Will sell the PS5 version and stick to the switch as I have a lot more opportunities to play on there anyway.
Yeah the main character looks weird, but not bad per se. The haircut is fine to me. Still, it is odd that western studios often cannot seem to replicate the actor... Or don't want to. Maybe they just want to stylize a bit. I don't know. Don't want to read much into it as this game does not seem to bash me over the head with political bullshit anyway, so it's fine.
She is written in a way that I don't like (not admitting when making mistakes but just 'play-acting along as if what she did was what she meant anyway, can't describe it better), but I'm hoping it will get better or at least not worse.
Rest of the game up until now is just fun and the setting is awesome. Music/sound design is fitting. I really enjoy it for the first about 10 hours or so

Good to hear. You are much further than me. I am only in the first heist area after having to escape the city, and meet the so called "crew" that just drop you off at the mansion. I haven't heard anything snarky, and definitely no "bigot sandwiches" type lines (tlou2 reference). She was even willing to come back and help her caretaker (the guy who was giving her room and board and a job), she also was concerned about his leg being shot. If she was truly selfish and self-centered that wouldn't of happened. Granted she was an orphan abandoned, and brought up in the all for yourself underbelly of the city, so any attitude would be expected. Hopefully the parts like you describe are part of character building and she improves later on.

Game seems fun so far. I see where this could of been so much better ( star wars rpg, choose your race, class, starting location different ships etc...) but that isn't what they were going for. I see elements of splinter cell, uncharted so far. I am sure it will open up to far cry/AC like open world later on. So far it was worth the buy. Will see if it holds up.

I took some pictures of Star Wars Outlaws. This game looks so frigging good on the Switch 2. Best graphics by far when it comes to third party ports. Ubisoft really knocked it out of the park with this one. The game is really good too. I´ve had a blast so far playing it.

gotta say, harry potter looks much better than this and it has more of a dense open world. her hair is shimmering all the time, and the gameplay itself is very convoluted. I dunno who decided you interact with the joystick press.

The game has improved a lot with the latest updates compared to the release code.

ANd the demo is not the latest update. Honestly the demo is probably the worst looking environment, and without the latest improvements.; I don't think it promotes the game as well as it could.
Why on earth would the demo not have the latest updates?! It's dumb!

yeah, I read they fixed her hair shimmer. But the demo is really bad visually. But mainly I don't think I'll enjoy the gameplay, the button layout is unappealing.

Admittedly, I kinda don't care about Star Wars anymore since Episode VIII, so I don't actually care about the series, but I am curious enough for someone to make a final update version video on Switch 2 just to see how hard they could push the graphics.

Compared to other handhelds, or the PS5 Pro? Because it more than holds it's own against other handhelds.
It's literally as good as a series S; better in some areas like sharpness and rtgi, worst on others like geometry and pop in.

Someone saying it looks bad is obviously being hyperbolic on purpose.
