Disclaimer before I start; I think this game is awesome and I'm having a blast playing it but I need to vent about a few things.
- The disgusting addition of gymkhana, I seriously cannot stand this bullshit
- "Stick that sick clip on youtoob, yo!"
- Bland announcers
- The pushing of meagre additional content, it goes too fair when the announcer says "Hey I heard a rumour there's a new car pack available for download...dood!"
I know it's mostly superficial stuff but it really grinds my gears. I'm sure I'll get yelled at and disagreed with but Gymkhana is an awful and ridiculous addition. I wish it wasn't in the DiRT Tour at all so I could just ignore it completely, I want to race not fanny around doing donuts and spins. Not to mention that shit is hard and trying to get platinum (or even gold in some cases) is tantamount to torture repeating an event over and over and over until it's burned into your brain.
The announcers need to shove off, or at least be replaced by people who don't sound utterly fake. The woman drones on about dumb stuff and the guy is irritating with his constant "that was off the hook, man!" platitudes. When they start shilling the lamest additional content Codemasters could cook up it gets too much. A £4 pack of 5 cars and the guy sounds like he could pop from excitement.
Everything that was in DiRT 2 I love and getting rid of the campervan was a good choice, but the additions to DiRT 3 just get to me. I know I'm probably alone in my hatred for a lot of this stuff, especially the gymkhana, but like I said I just wanted to vent about it.

Edgefusion I agree with you 110%. They said they were going to tone that bro stuff down, instead they made it worse somehow.
Thankfully now that I've unlocked all the cars and liveries, I just stick to single races now. The rally stuff is actually really good although there aren't nearly as many tracks as I would like.

That is the part I am really starting to notice. The more I play the more it seems there isn't nearly the varied track selection of Dirt 1/2. Once I beat the game I am never going to touch the Gymkhana stuff ever again. It will just be Rally and Trailblazer all day.
You know what this game needs? Pikes Peak. I may have mentioned that before, but I am not sure...

Someone on the official forums a while back posted maps of the all the rally races. You can see how much Codies reused segments to have so many tracks. It's kind of sad when you think back to Dirt 1 and how many rally tracks it had, and how long they were.

So, let me get this straight. Every time I run Dirt 3, I receive the advice that "The Power and Glory" DLC pack is available for purchase. They say that it will include the BMW M3, the Lancia Delta, the Ford Focus ST, Scion tC and Chevrolet Camaro SSX.
Let me explain that I have nothing agains DLCs, ok? But when I enter in a Race, there's the BMW M3 on the starting line. There's the Camaro SSX in front of my car. So, basicaly, Codemasters is trying to make me pay again for something that it's already in the game? Is this some kind of joke? Do I look like an ass face? That's outrageous!

I bought the game before it's release, but I could only play it this week due problems with my old VGA. So, these cars weren't there before the release of the DLC? Does it mean that I'll have to download every single car pack they release, even if I do not buy them?FyreWulff said:

when you select the track under time trials it takes you to a select ghost screen. here you can chose an empty slot and add a friend or leaderboard ghost. sadly, you cant turn off the WR ghost from this screen and have to do it in the in race options.

Sorry but I can't imagine there are a whole lot of people here who didn't use theirs. You should throw the devs some love and just buy it. Despite my complaints it's still a great game.DieselRainbow said:

we should do some classic car trials. they are so fun to drive.

I can't beat the Kenya time anymore! Oh and no way we'd ever get close to the WR, that guy's ghost is ridiculously fast, he probably has a custom vehicle setup that works for him.
How are you guys handling the last section of the snow track? I seriously skid from side to side and lose control of my car by the last part before the road curves to the left for the finish line.

wait, you cant change weather conditions in time trials? odd... i guess its to simplify the leaderboards a bit, but it would be nice for some variety in our TT.

I honestly don't think we will, there is a lot of stuff still in the game data for this upcoming dlc like the menu images and track layout overhead maps, if more were made it would have to be worked on more and might be harder to insert, dunno, but I think codies only planned to sell this one area which imo needed to be in from day 1, game lacks locations as it is.op_ivy said:
