Disney doesn’t want you to see this infomercial for their $5000 Star Wars hotel

Disney is trying to scrub this from the internet after originally posting it and then being blasted over how terrible it is.

It’ll cost 2 people nearly $5000 for the “two night experience”. A family will need to sell one of their kids to afford the rest of the group to do it.

I get that the nature of it means that it’s an exclusive thing that can only have relatively few people at a time. But it’s a pity how few people will get to experience this.

Also, not sure I’d have included an extended singing section in the advert if I was making it. Feeling like you’re in Star Wars seems to be the selling point, sitting around watching someone sing isn’t what most people would be looking for from that.

I mean, definetely not for my wallet, but between this and a 15 minute pseudo space trip for 250K, this looks way better.

the trailer is trash but if you can really "be in star wars" like it suggests then i'm sure plenty of people will go for it. yeah it's expensive but it might not be aimed at everyone except the hardcore fans.

i mean if i could pay £5,000 to spend time in Hogwarts i'll fucking do it. i want to live in the castle. i'm a big HP fan. if i were a big Star Wars fan i'd love the chance to live in that world.

There was a preview for this before Encanto on the Disney cruise I just went on, it featured…well, a stand-in for me, a mid 30s white dude with disposable income who might be tempted to splurge on a memberberries overdose like this.

Instead I’m going to buy a bigger camper and take my kids outside

What kind of pathetic manchild would spend all that money for this bullshit? The original movies were good but not 5000 dollar hotel good and ever since the franchise has been shit. Jesus Christ, calm the fuck down with this fucking franchise.

Yeah…no thanks. I think the manlet presenter is from that sitcom where he plays a school kid despite clearly being in his 30s. Goldbergs? Yeah that’s him. Sean Giambrone (thanks Google!)

Your point? This is obviously targeted at rich people having the means to give themselves and their kids an unforgettable Star Wars experience. If you're poor - sucks to be you, but then again you probably cannot afford to go to Disneyland anyway (I have two kids, a single trip costs us 250-300€, in what universe is this acceptable?).

Nah for the price of 2 nights at Starcruiser a family of 4 could get a WEEK at a much better resort hotel at WDW.

The people that make this in an hour and happen to like Star Wars.

No, an advertisement for rich people, end of discussion. Why is any of this shit surprising to people, especially if they live (as majority here) in the US?

5k for a week-end stay at a theme hotel is not for rich people :messenger_tears_of_joy:
It is for childish middle-class fanboys and franchise zealots who saved up a couple of bucks in order to blow it on trip to Disney.

Rich people can afford better and sane people get higher quality holidays for less.

Yes. Spend $5000 for a commercial with just a bunch of artist concepts. This doesn't scream to me to visit Star Wars. You can spend a week on a Disney ship for that much.

$5000 for 2 nights.

So if Disney maxes it out they'll get about 180 check ins if it's sold out all year. So $900,000 of revenue + all the bullshit meals and merch they try to sell you too. Probably end up at $1M.

Sounds crazy, but a lot of people have money. Finding 180 check ins per year doesnt sound like a lot considering how many star wars fans there are.

Every player in the resort and entertainment industry is increasingly catering to whales looking for luxury experiences. A few years ago, platinum badges for music festivals were not that bad. Now they’re $5k each. The gap between the wealthy and everyone else continues to expand, and the money is in making a small percentage of customers feel special.

FYI if you didn’t know there has been a huge management change over this year and the management doesn’t give a shit except for the bottom line.

at least bob iger and his crew has some of walts ideals ..the new ceo and his people are going to bring the Parks way down before they learn any lessons.
