Doctor Who 50th Anniversary |OT| Splendid Chap, All Of Them

Been listening to the soundtracks a lot these past few weeks and figured I'd post my eleven songs from them.

These are in no order mind, just my favourite eleven.

1. The Majestic Tale (Of a Madman In a Box)
2. The Wedding of River Song
3. Doctor Who XI
4. I Am the Doctor
5. Whose Enigma
6. A Secret He Will Take to His Grave
7. All the Strange, Strange Creatures
8. The Doctor Forever
9. The Greatest Story Never Told
10. Song for Ten (Reprise)
11. This is Gallifrey: Our Childhood, Our Home

Some of them really get to me at times, Whose Enigma, A Secret He Will Take to His Grave, The Wedding of River Song and Song for Ten (Reprise) can cause me to get a lump in my throat at times. Honourable mention to Vale Decem which seems to get to me no matter how I'm feeling. Such a fantastic piece of music.

I love Murray Gold and Ben Foster and hope they continue for a while yet.
I know people would like a change, but there's something about Gold that if it was someone else, it just wouldnt feel right.

I'm hoping for some old themes to come back for the 60th episode, not full on themes, but I expect bits here and there from Tens Theme and maybe Roses depending on the situation.

Anyone else got a set of songs they like a lot?

oh my god
Hurt has a classic style TARDIS with the coral in it to bridge the gap
FUUUUUCK

Also
Billie with glowing eyes! Bad Wolf, then.

Holy shit :O

Hurts TARDIS with Coral type columns
Ten and Eleven!
Millions of Dalek Ships!
The moment seems to be a diamond!

So much to process right now!

Meanwhile, some salt from Colin Baker in a new interview:

If I told you my lips were sealed, you’d know that I was in it, but my lips are not sealed and I’m not in it.”

I can say that Peter isn’t because I’ve seen him recently. And I can tell you that Sylvester isn’t, and neither is Paul. So none of us have been deemed worthy of inclusion in a programme that celebrates 50 years of a British television programme, of which I was in it for three. But no, we are surplus baggage.

Meanwhile, some salt from Colin Baker in a new interview:
Oh Colin. Do yourself a favour and suck it up.

You know, Who's been good to him. It's provided steady employment for most of the past thirty years. He got to be in the Big Finish 50th special. Legions of new fans are now familiar with his work. If he doesn't want to acknowledge the realities of stuffing himself into a costume he wore 30 years ago that's his lookout, but let's not pretend that Doctor Who owes him anything.

I just watched it 3 times and I still have no clue what's going on.

I love it.

edit: Not even mad at Colin Baker. I mean - I wouldn't have said any of that to anyone with a microphone or a tape recorder. But I understand why he'd think it.

edit part II: And of course, turns out he was just being a smartass.

What the what. That's quite a trailer.

High quality now, please. Like, now.

Biggest surprise? Didn't expect seeing Rose again would evoke so many feels.

This is tomorrow's trailer. The one they showed at Comic Con and some trade shows is supposedly gonna release on Sunday, and is between a minute and 90 seconds.
Other way round, I think. This one's very similar to the descriptions of the Comic Con trailer, only with finished CGI and effects and without the comparing sonics scene.

A trailer cut for BBC One's less likely to be on the BBC Latin America page than one already cut for international conventions.

Incidentally, did anyone notice the goddamn
spider Dalek ships? They may not actually be spider Daleks, but it's the closest we've ever got,
and as a fan from the 90's it brought a smile.

The official announcement said that one trailer is one "they've already shown at various trade shows" while one is new. That'd indicate it's probably identical when they do show it, sonic scene and all.

Well, it's gonna be
Jack or River. They're the only characters with one.
There's a third possibility, too, though fringe -
Dorium. Let's face it, though, it's going to be the first, mentioned in passing in dialogue. Torchwood deserves a nod as part of the show's history, even if only in one line.

Oh. Oh my. I was NOT prepared for that. It all went by really fast, but I'm hyped as hell now. D:

River or Jack. I know you all hate River, but I don't, so bring it wooo!

I don't mind her, but we haven't heard anything of Jack in far too long darn it. I'm not expecting either of them to show up though.

Yeah, I am the same way. I love River, but good god would I freak out if Jack showed up.

And to really make this a special weekend we’re also releasing a second trailer on Sunday. Versions of this trailer have been seen at industry events but this is the first time it’s been released in its finished form, complete with the kind of special effects that help make The Day of the Doctor so epic.
Seems to sum up this trailer to a T, for my money. There's not a single moment in this trailer that wasn't in the Comic Con trailer, which makes the whole enterprise a bit pointless, really.

So close.

It's strange to think that I'm going to have an Xbox One and PS4 before this even airs and it's still only two weeks away.

So many feels.

SO MANY FEELS!

I actually really got into the series on the night of the 40th anniversary. BBC Kids in Canada was running a marathon. I had watched episodes of the show earlier but rarely did I sit down for a complete story. That night I watched City of Death and have been hooked ever since. Something about that cliffhanger when the Doctor goes back to visit da Vinci and runs into Scaroth stuck with me. I loved that the Doctor was old buddies with da Vinci and the Scaroth surprise genuinely through me for a loop. It showed me just how epic and awesome Doctor Who could be.

Oh my god. Oh my dear lord. Oh these two weeks are superfluous rubbish in my life, 23RD EMBRACE ME. I just smiled so wide

And this is without a doubt the Comic-Con trailer. The one we're getting tomorrow night should be brand new.

Ahh, right. Yeah, you're right. I wonder if the shot
of Hurt inside his rather different TARDIS
was in it, as I'm astonished nobody reported that.

Predictions for the 50th

10 and 11 stop Hurt from killing all the Dalek's and Time lords. Badwolf rose is trying to ensure it happens.

Guys, my hype it's unbearable.

Hopefully, we get to see War Tardis vs Dalek Saucer fights even if only a little.

Spider daleks seem cool, here's hoping for heavy weapons dalek's.

I'm done making predictions. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy this. It's going to be insaaaane.

I ought to know good ol' Timey Wimey Moffatt would do something less straightforward than just bringing Rose back
