It's pretty flattened. His hair throughout his run hasn't been completely consistent.

Just another style to add to the 10th Doctor.

There it is.

That photo of Ten pointing is the first time it's properly hit me- new stuff for the Tenth Doctor! A new David Tennant performance to enjoy! Aww, I'm all excited.

I haven't been posting in any Doctor Who related threads since the Capaldi announcement, but I'm getting pretty hyped for the 50th now. I just wish there were any cinema screenings here. :(

Torn on hearing the Doctor say he likes hashtags. He can't decide whether he likes or hates Twitter.

Someone is probably having a genuine breakdown over this at this very moment

If they wanted to go down the route of Doctor-obsessed UNIT scientist, why not use Malcolm from Planet of the Dead?

He was one of the only salvageable things from that episode, along with THAT TRAILER GODDAMN.

Wow. The old addage of good trailer=bad episode and vice versa still stands.
Science of Doctor Who trailer. Features Brian Cox and the Doctor sexual tension. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qFT5YJfrmCQ

One of the many things I'll miss about Matt Smith: his inappropriate touching of people, particularly their lips

OH MY GOD.
A four CD set encompassing music from all eleven Doctors' shows, including many pieces that have never before been released, is an incredible journey through the 5 decades of Doctor Who, with tracks from composers such as Ron Grainer, Delia Derbyshire, Dudley Simpson, Paddy Kingsland and Mark Ayres right through to Murray Gold. The tracklisting and release date will be announced shortly.

In addition, this year marks such a momentous anniversary for the series, Silva Screen will be releasing an 11 CD set, one for each Doctor, all presented in a specially created Tardis. This highly collectable box set is completely unique and strictly limited.

Actually yes the Rose question is a good one, in the whole interview pack that came out, nothing from her. Or I've missed it. But not in the pictures, she's been a surprisingly small element in promo so far... the little of it we've had. How big is the role? I'm suspecting quite small.

I'm fairly sure she's going to be John Hurt's companion as (well as) Bad Wolf.

Is that the case? Ruh-roh. Manic depressive Ten then? I suppose him being so upset in End of Time would make sense if he'd just seen his younger, older self... prancing around.

I'm just guessing. Even if it was the case I doubt he'll be depressing, Moffat keeps going on about how good a comedy double act they are.

Massive spoiler if true, don't read if you want to be surprised:
Spoiler hound on GB gave a massive hint (Catherine Tate dialogue) at Donna being in the special .With another saying there'll be a possibly bigger shock than at the end of Partners in Crime.

Christ.
Gotta admit, I love that twist. In retrospect, hated Rose returning, but I was a big fan of hers way back then, and it was pretty awesome. As was the moment when Donna says "Bad Wolf" and shit goes to hell. I really need to remember my GB account details so I can visit there

Yeah, they were both amazing moments.

I wish I never read it tbh, I would've been properly shocked, well I still will be if it happens, just less so haha. I will be if Eccleston appears, though. I just can't help reading spoilers.

Apparently the Children in Need clip is
Ten and Eleven meeting for the first time.
I kind of don't want to spoil that but I know I'll watch anyway.

I'm a bastard for reading spoilers. But to be honest that sounds like complete shit from any other source, so there's that.

That's weird, haven't they always done exclusive clips for CiN before? I remember it was the post- Eccleston regeneration scene with Tennant in 2005.

Not always, but often. Pudsey Cutaway, Time Crash and The Great Detective were specially written for Children in Need, but they also had trailers for The Next Doctor, A Christmas Carol and The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe along with specially shot onset charity bits.

Regarding how much filming piper did - spoilered as it may be regarded as one by some
She was on holiday abroad for three weeks of an eight week shoot, so certainly not as big a role as the other three 'named' actors. She was also never seen on set at all, though she was spotted around Cardiff, so it's probably all studio-bound, or at least 'sealed' locations.

Speculation--
Given what's on the poster, if she is indeed 'Bad Wolf' Rose leaking through during that brief moment in Series 1 to try to stop a calamity in some way, when she can see everything and is everywhere at once, a lot of her work may well be studio/post production stuff. I sort of expect her to be present throughout the story, though perhaps not fully. Like, in the interview with Tennant, it's notable, I think -- he's asked about what it's like to be back with Billie, and he doesn't talk about playing with her, he talks about "standing on set with her" or whatever, where with Matt he talked about playing with/off him. So perhaps she's not all there. Regardless of how big her role is, I sort of expect that maybe she hasn't been in the promotion because learning too much about her might unravel the solution to the plot. The BBC even shit a brick when her (very interesting) costume got out via her stunt double posting a pic of herself on twitter.

Adding on to what Exterminieren said, the first exclusive CIN clip began at the 30th anniversary with the non-canon abortion of Satan of an Eastenders crossover that is Dimensions in Time.

Interesting quotes from Moffat from this SFX interview.

John Hurt’s costume is quite striking. Is it meant to be a patchwork of previous Doctor costumes?

“Not particularly. I can see why people say that. Looking at it face to face it didn’t occur to me as a patchwork of previous Doctors at all. It’s a rougher, tougher Doctor. It looks like somehow he’s been through it a bit. We are saying ‘This isn’t a Doctor who’s just appeared, he’s been around, he’s been in this form for a while.’ So one of the notes was make it look as though he’s been knocking around in this incarnation for a bit.

...And it’s another indicator that he’s not a fresh-born Doctor. We didn’t want to imply that he’d just been around for a little while. There’s a whole lot of stuff you missed!"

LOL. what bullshit. "We just accidentally came up with a coat that looks exactly like Nine's and a waistcoat that looks exactly like Eight's. You know, because leather jacket & paisley vest SCREAMS "rough & tumble."

To be fair, the cross section between 'has to look Doctory' and 'has to look rough and tumble' and 'has to not make Hurt look like an ass' is pretty much limited to what he's dressed in.

I mean, I've always seen 8's costume as being the stereotypical Doctor costume, and a leather jacket is movie-shorthand for badass.

Early listings for Freeview channels in the UK state the BBC "Red Button" feature will include some Doctor Who content from Nov 16. It is not known exactly what the nature of this content is, but it is most likely to be a special mini Doctor Who episode. The upcoming The Day of the Doctor DVD/bluray features a "mini episode" called The Night of the Doctor and additional material called The Last Day (check the details HERE), so it's possible it could be one of those.

Was rumored, but good to get it confirmed.
