that was a brilliant episode. but did it just retcon, like everything?

So Gallifrey is back in play
regeneration limit or whatever is gone.
whole new set of stories are to be made!
So guys uh I'm curious about somethingdoes this change the numbering?
Why would the regeneration limit be gone?
It only retconned the fact that the Doctor destroyed Gallifrey. Gallifrey still disappeared from the universe, and the Doctor (up until this point in his timeline) still THINKS he destroyed Gallifrey.
Why must you hate the franchise Eccleston. It could have been even better if you had showed up for half a day...
That was fucking great. Tom Baker, Capaldi, a reused Eccleston scene. It's all I could have hoped for. Christmas preview is looking good too.
...Wait I didn't want a reused Eccleston scene. Oh Chris.![]()
So they played a trailer at the end? It didn't air here in Aust..

Why not? Time Travel. It was in his past so he knew about it happening and to go to that point in time to help. Also, why wasthere? Just because Billie piper can see everything? That was odd too.peter capaldi
Yeah, and in a really dumb way.
I don't even mind the idea of the Time Lords coming back, but getting rid of all of the Doctor's guilt and revealing that he never even destroyed Gallifrey to begin with is just so...cheap.

When all is said and done that was probably the best thing about the episode. Especially since it's not something you get to see often at all!I also love the way the three Doctors interacted.
Pretty decent but they need to fire moffat. his stories are far too convoluted and confusing. They need to go back to being a little more simple or just easier to understand. Thats why I hated series 7. Its gonna take me a few more rewatches to comprehend the whole 50th anniversary special.
I think Moffat wanted to make it sohe'd use up that extra regeneration, but the official numbering wouldn't have to change.
That was a bloody brilliant special. However it saddens me more now that I no longer have the hope that Eccleston or Barrowman would have shown up. Someone really dropped the ball here to the point where they couldn't negotiate a 10 second clip of Hurt regenerating into Eccleston.
