Question for entire DotaGAF: what's your current ratio on wins/losses? What's been your best?

I currently have just 3 wins more than losses after nearly 500 games played. I feel like before I used to be ahead by 20 or more and now it's like I win a game, instant 3-game losing streak follows.

I'm constantly getting matched up against guys with 500-1000 wins yet I'm barely cracking 230.

puppey is the best rubick in the world

wins and games played really don't matter past like 50 honestly.

if ur hitting a new skill barrier then thats a sign of improving. While not as concrete as something like a mmr, its noticeable when you start playing with/against better players. Just go at it like you've just gone up a skill tier and are now the worst player on the team. Learn from good plays from friendly players and be self-critical. Feel free to ask good questions and get good answers. Then you'll start owning.

I don't feel like amount of wins is a good indicator of a person's skill level honestly. I've played with and against people with 10x as many wins as me that were way worse than me, and I suck. Also I play in stacks a lot so my winrate is inflated(55% I think). I wouldn't worry about winrate honestly.

I've seen people with >5000 games that still don't understand fundamentals. Games played is not a good measuring stick.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
Lose two of the best mid players in the West, win TI6.

Looking at dotabuff my overall win-loss is 256-188.

Winrate and total wins isn't really meaningful in determining how good or bad a player is though. I probably have one of the best win/loss ratios on this forum but I'm one of the worst and least experienced players that posts here.

Winrate can reflect if you're improving as player or not though. I've gotten a lot better over recent months and it's shown in my winrate (66% this patch).

If you've been floating around 50% W/L for a while it means you're at the mmr you're supposed to be and you need to figure out what you need to work on to get higher.

so no issue on secret now not having top 5 players in their positions then?

Secrets most picked hero was Dazzle according to Dotabuff.

Puppey's the new bulldog.

so, you are ignoring any heroes puppey played well multiple time on his career and arguing that they picked one of the most picked heroes this meta?
ok dude. whatever.

I think its because there's essentially a transfer window after every major that we're seeing unconventional teams forming, so if it doesn't work out in the Fall major, just disband and reorganize.

I think EG still the best in the west, regardless of Fear playing position 4. I guess there's still a few doubts about other Western/CIS teams/players left to see how they all fit in.

Im curious to see if other organizations will come back into the fold/pickup teams like Dignitas, Team Liquid, C9, etc etc.

I actually expect a few more organisations coming into the fold.

i know a few people who played a butt-load of games and don't know the fundamentals

u can get good at dota relatively fast if you have good habits and play with somebody who knows what he's doing.

A stubborn mentality and bad habits will make it much longer to get good imo

50% overall
55% ranked (normal)
75% lycan/zeus/techies
90% inhouse
80% IHL2

But I'm garbage with garbage ping. Gimme an R hero with instawin and I can beat most normal skill trenchlords.

Ask me to out farm the other carry or make in-game decisions and you have already lost.

Think he played a decent bat rider and clockwork as well? Or am I confusing him with someone else

his clock was ok. he didnt really play bat in that team, s4 had that on lock I thought.

He played Doom as well

Edit: I think you're right actually, he did play bat as well for a bit.

Not meaning to bait, I am being facetious.

A lot of things have been said, people offered a lot of opinions, time will tell if they become true or not.

Just saw the Secret lineup and it is interesting. Has misery played offlane before? All I can remember is him playing support but I don't remember what he played in lgd.int or before that.

EE had said he wanted to play with Bone7 so I have to imagine they could have had him offlane but I wonder if Bone did not want to join or if EE was overruled and they went another way.

He played Offlane when he was originally in Secret (replaced Fly) before joining C9

He played offlane for Secret before Zai and RTZ joined.

Bulldog plays

Prophet
Druid
Clock
Bat(he got good with this after S4 left)
Dark Seer
Brood
Bounty(when it used to be good on the offlane)
Beast Master
Doom
I might be forgetting some

The fact that he didn't have a hero pool used to be true but he improved by a lot. He's still not a versatile offlaner by any stretch of the imagination, more of a specialist, which is still okay since he has given Alliance free picks ever since teams started banning his heroes in the first phase.
