Mangos are pretty underwhelming as far as difficult-to-eat fruit go.

If I'm going to struggle to eat a fruit, it's going to be an entire pineapple.

can you also talk about dota please in the dota thread.

I need to practice my Invoker more. I don't play that hero very much at all because I'm just not confident in it.

do it tonight and stream it.

I might actually, the muscle memory will still remain the same in the new patch, so not too much has changed as far as learning the basics of the hero goes.

invoker trainer is there for you.

I wasn't clear, I can do Invoker Trainer, however it's just managing that AND everything else in a normal Dota game at the same time. That's the aspect of it I need to practice.

Yeah I knew it

Bulldog was waiting for the patch to come back so his heroes would actually be good and the meta would be more in his favour. He never made it a secret that he was rooting for Alliance even when he left.

I'll look stupid if he's not coming back.

Bulldog likes money as much as he likes winning.

He'll be back like a boss, and they'll be picking him all his favorite heroes. He's still among the very best in the world at Lone Druid and NP. His other heroes are a little shaky but those are not.

all jokes aside, he seemed sincerely happy about those druid and furion buffs

with his best heroes coming back into relevancy, there's no reason for him not to be.

Guys I'm in New York and my hotel is in Chinatown

Anyone know of something cool to do? Not food, but like an arcade or something?

Yeah he seemed happy and I'm happy for him, his furion was my favorite hero to watch, he's a god on him.

He used to be mediocre on any hero that wasn't named Furion, Lone Druid or Bounty Hunter, but the nerfs to those heroes improved his game a lot. He's now actually decent at a bunch of other offlaners, not to mention he always had a brood(but it wasn't in cm back then).

And btw I thought Niqua did very well for Alliance in the time he was there, never really disappointed imo. Obviously though a Bulldog at the top of his game is worth more to Alliance.
How hard is Lone Druid to pick up compared to Naga

Carry Naga? In my experience Druid is harder to pick up, don't know about mastering(probably still Druid though). Mis-microing with Druid is gamelosing, it means nothing on Naga.

eh. he's certainly serviceable and can get by in a pinch on a few other heroes at that level of play, but nobody will mistake him for Universe or iceiceice on that offlane as far as diverse pools go. If Alliance is picking him back up, it's to play Lone Druid and Nature's Prophet, with Clock and Batrider as alternate picks if necessary.

Alliance isnt getting that invite I guess. I hope they only invite like 6 teams and have everyone else play for their spot, if they stretch it to 11 there are going to be a ton of medicore undeserving choices

Poor Niqua. Hopefully he finds another team soon.

I'm not that surprised; 6.84 seems like a Bulldog patch and Alliance probably had to make a decision before playing through TI qualifiers. Other than the first game today, they didn't play very well against NIP.

Oh I'm not implying he's a versatile player, he's definitely not, but he's more versatile than he used to be. He's not useless anymore whenever he doesn't get one of his two heroes, that's all I'm saying. And opponents spending their bans on heroes like Furion and LD gives Alliance a big advantage in their draft, which is always the case when you have a specialist on your team.

They are both fairly difficult heroes for new players. I would not recommend unless you have experience with micro games (sc2 and the like). But if you don't, LD is the easier one imo, because you're only controlling 2 units. With naga, you need to be constantly splitting up your illusions to maximize farm and minimize the aoe damage they take.

Wow @ the troll double nerf. I hate it when he nerfs heroes in addition to changing major parts of the game, usually ends up over nerfing the hero because they aren't any good in the new meta regardless. Also his ult is now the most boring shit in the world now, 5 seconds happens so quick, it just doesn't have the impact. Maybe he should rework the hero eventually.

Lots of aghanims look real cool, lone druids is disappointing. Huskar never gunna be on top.

Looks like there was a lot more items in the works that didnt make it into patch release.

From Matts twitter (obviously)

'blinders' and 'whip' are probably for the upcoming christmas game mode where one hero on each team becomes that teams santa and the rest become reindeers and its actually payload race in dota

Oddly enough, I'd say Naga is a really good hero to learn dota, though. She has a little bit of everything from Micro to CC to a very dynamic teamfight ult. Interesting hero.

Well, having to concentrate on micro, which might not be as important on most other heroes, could distract you from learning other aspects of the game.

She is definitely not a good hero to learn Dota with. Do you really think new players should have an ultimate that screws you teammates over if you panic and press it in a team fight?

Yeah, he got nerfed really really hard. Like TI2 morphling hard. I didn't think so at first, but losing pretty much all his extra vision, 15 base damage (effectively), AND getting his ulti cut down to 5s. The base damage nerf alone is pretty hard hitting.

Did they give TI5 ticket buyers free compendiums last year?

I hope we do get them for free, but I probably will still buy points for it.

GUYS THIS IS A DOTA THREAD NOT A FRUIT THREAD.

I was a VIP last year. The only thing we got in-game was a litlte badge that you can see on my Dota profile, and every TI4 attendee got that, VIP and regular pleb. No free compendium, nothing like that.

Yeah, this too.

I was thinking more support Naga, to be honest. Core Naga isn't as interesting or multifaceted, I think.

Learning not to panic in the middle of a team fight and smash your keyboard is definitely something you need to learn. You'll learn it fast with a giant ult that everyone notices. Additionally, it's not like these people who are totally new to dota are in ranked so why does it matter?
