Dragon Age: Inquisition |OT2| Leave the damn Hinterlands!

No way. Iron Bull is worthless unless you control him yourself. He dies constantly. You want a warrior with a shield in your party to build guard. Cassandra is a beast with her upgraded skills.

--

I started the 'Wicked Eyes' mission last night. Gawd damn. What to do...
Give him the same guard building abilities as the other warriors and a weapon that generates guard (plenty of those for a 2h warrior) and he's got just as much survivability as the others. Just don't give him Dragon Rage...

Still have to do the Winter Palace quest on my second playthrough. I'm not a fan so I keep putting it off.

I killed a fucking dragon in the hinterlands. Level 11 now thanks to it.
Ally AI was probably my biggest hurdle. Solas and Verric kept getting blasted when they insisted on standing in the AoEs when it sucked them in or right infront of its face.

In the end I took over Cassandra ended up soloing the last like 10% alone. Fucking sword and shield is OP as shit jesus fuck.

The was one of the more difficult ones because of the big fire AOE and the other smaller dragons. The higher level dragons are a bit easier.

Cassandra is my tank too. She's saved my ass plenty of times. I take her with me pretty much 100% of the time.

That doesn't matter. S&S Warriors are built for drawing in agro and taking hits, both of which can be accomplished with the basic skill trees.

Why when both Blackwall and Cassandra's specialisations put them over the top making them great tanks? They have access to the same basic skill trees too.

Unless you really want Bull in your crew.

Have you looked at the Champion tree?

Cassandra's a tank commander, but Blackwall is a literal god.

You answered your own question. People want Iron Bull in their party for the banter.

When do you get these specialized skill trees or whatever?
After Act One. They're on the War Table in Skyhold.

Started playing this a couple days ago and completed the tutorial area. Thing is when I was talking to Varric the things he was saying about Hawk (Carver alive) didn't match what my DA: Keep had set. Anyone else encounter this? Wondering if I should restart before I get further; wish the game let you examine the world state before you pull it in.

I would restart if I were you. The default world state is a lot less interesting imo.

You need to look at the time stamp when it asks you to confirm the world state in the character creation page.

I've been playing as a Legionnarie this past week and I think I found my new favorite class. It's hard to die as one, even on Perilous and the ability to draw in agro has helped my teammates, especially on 5/5.

My gear makes me so hard to kill that I think I might start on Threatening right away once I promote it for a third time.

Happy Holidays to everyone from #MyInquisition

The Deft Hands requirement + locked doors are pissing me off. They are just there to make your open quests list look longer and force you to revisit areas much later in the game.

I enjoyed the Chateau D'Onterre quest though.

I was just reading the "why I play Destiny thread" and wondered why there doesn't seem to be a GAF group or thread that plays DAMP. I found a faster way to get full parties started regularly now but it still random and GAF threads like Marvel Heroes, Capcom Fighters, and other MP games spoiled me a bit on gaf + mp games. I've been lucky online with a lot of nice loot. Now I play to get the rest of the things I dont have yet, prestige, and for fun.

I restarted the single player with my main save just after getting Skyhold still. Playing so much MP really makes SP gameplay a lot more interesting. Though the souped up mp abilities make the sp's version feel underwhelming. Maybe after a few patches I'll be confident enough to play with FF on like I usually do.

Dude, go to threatening hah. Perilous is the only one you should second guess entering. Legionnaire is invincible.

Edit: oh, it sounds like you might mean as a level 1, not that you have been sticking to routine all this time. I knew that sounded too strange.

If you are in a pug on Threatening when you hit 20 they are usually ok with you prestiging to get abilities back quick.

I already gave up on the multiplayer until they fix the bugs, they just bother me so much. Hopefully they do get it fixed. Doesn't seem to be a lot of people in here that play the multi compared to ME3 where we had our own thread too. I was a part of a group elsewhere that made it pretty easy to get into groups but like myself they already gave up on it.

Either way, Mage vs Templar plot started in DA2. And there's a lot more going on than just that

At level 20, you don't need to worry about the CD on your abilities, your passives alone make you nearly invincible on Threatening.

The only drawback to being a good Legionnarie is that you miss having a good tank on your team whenever you switch classes. I'm tired of seeing Kataris and Reavers trying to act like tanks by rushing ahead of everybody and dying. Or being an Archer and having no one to pull in agro for me thus I get surrounded by enemies.

Finally finished farming for my OP weapon. Will post a screenshot when done. It would be cool if people posted their creations and materials used for ideas on future playthroughs.

Anyone know the name of this dragon fight theme song?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FL9MnXXONcg

Spoiler, it's a dragon far in the game.

It also plays in MP I think, so the title is probably not dragon themed.

My little 8 year old nephew tried to get his father to give him this game for xmas. He would have had it too if it wasn't for me, the game was bought and nearly wrapped. Been trying to look for the back cover of the PS4 version on google to find out how the guy could have possible bought the game for the kid without seeing the ESRB details. I'm sure they mentioned gore, nudity, and such right?

I've started playing mp in the past week and its a great time, stupid key bug aside. I love that it lets me experiment with classes and builds so I can plan my next sp play through. I'm on ps4 though.

The end of a mission, even if it was a fun one, is not reinforced at all. They just pass by, like some check mark in a list. There is no reaction or commentary about the quest from your party members. Just Varric (or Sera) making some pithy comment about something completely unrelated.

So quick question, the recent PSN issues are preventing me from logging into the DA servers.

If I have already started a save file with a custom world state from the Keep, do I need a constant internet connection for that world state to take effect in my game? Or is that world state effectively loaded into my game since I have already played several hours with a successful online connection?

I'm basically wondering if it's safe for me to continue playing my save file with my game offline during this PSN outage.

Not a problem going offline. It's only the achievements/trophies that are affected.

What else to do? Every side mission done. All shards. Stupid pesky trouble with darkspawn quest still glitched.

Why after beating the game can't I romance my romance anymore? Cassandra calls me Inquisitor and not my love.

So I am in the part where you met
hawke
but still I have no idea how to upgrade Bianca, I made some of its pieces but still dont allow me to put the pieces

So, Only varric can modify her? Damm......

It shows weapons equipable by the character you currently have selected. Since Varric is the only character than can equip Bianca, you always have to select him to upgrade.

Yeah, I thought that was pretty strange. I get not being able to do some companion quests post-game but the fact that all the characters kind of... turn off afterwards is odd.

Just fought my first dragon (Crestwood) on Nghtmare.

I'm kind of mind blown how fast my Reaver tore it apart. Used a regeneration potion and shredded it in less than a minute. I was actually expecting a somewhat tough fight but it was an absolute massacre.

Question 2: Is there any way for me to tell the AI controlling my ranged characters to behave like the "Ranged" tactic from Origins? They seem to have issues getting away from melee enemies.

Best you can do is switch them to Defend themselves under Behaviors. It is a bandaid fix but it is better than the default.

So question to those who played through the Winter Palace.

Did you like it? I personally loved it, the whole setting, the political intrigue, the backstabbing and so on. It really made me want an entire game centered around it.

Well I've been wanting to make an RPG maker game all about choice and always imagined a large scale game with many locales but what if I made a smaller scale game that instead of focusing on combat, focused on the politics of a medieval society. So your character would go to and host balls, there would be rivalies and such, all of that fun stuff. Maybe even lift the whole Human vs Elf dynamic (though granted cliche) and even have your race make a difference in the stories between who you can romance, alliance with, or even who will approach you. It would also be more free form in that you arrive with nothing and climb to the top in various different ways. Even maybe choose which manor you subscribe to.

Would anyone be interested in something like that? Granted it would be not in anyway as graphically impressive as Dragon Age but still the general idea of the Winter Palace setting would be the same.

Hated it, but saw its potential. Would have been better if it focused on dialogue and choice as its primary gameplay device instead of tedious scavenger hunts. In my second playthrough it's a serious speedbump in my progression because I've been putting it off for as long as possible.

Still, I like your idea. Could be really cool so long as you keep the weaknesses of this quest in mind.
