Ouch

Thats pretty much me as well. I think my dexterity right now is 9.:lol

I really wish there was some merchants or something mid-way through the quest because my character is a joke at this moment due to his injuries. And
the highest Spirit Mage spell heals only my party members injuries not my own

As soon as I learned about injuries, I obsessively bought every injury kit I ever saw in a shop and I'm pleased to say I never had this problem.

I heard if i buy this on PC i can get blood dragon armor on the 360 version? How exactly does this work.
Game logs you into EA server and you get an account that's same on pc, 360 and ps3. Don't all DA version have that armor anyway. Are you talking about how it relates to Mass Effect 2?

Yes. Your EA accounts says you have armor in DA no matter which platform so you'll have access to it on 360.

Just started playing this, rolled a city elf rogue. 3 hours in, really impressed so far. (
Up to the part where you are suppose to light the beacon
gameplay feels like the classic party-based w-rpg i've been wanting to play for ages. Writing / Story is fairly cliched so far, but it's entertaining, and a bit darker then most tolkien esque fantasys. It sorta feels like a cross between asoiaf and lotr.
The game has that same addictive feel, the witcher back in 2007 did for me.:D
It also surprisingly runs very well on my old geforce 7600, current settings are set to medium with a resolution of 1280x760.
One question though, have i missed out on getting the dog party member? i didn't get around to giving the guy the flower to heal the dog, and now the quest is gone.>_>

Once I actually played around with my characters tactics setup I was quite pleased with how well my party handled enemy encounters. I was really struggling in places before and except for really large battles with a lot of powerful NPC's I don't find myself having to swap between them nearly as much anymore.

Also, I managed to get blood mage on the first try (also glad I made a chick as a mage as guys look dumb with robes on). I was also shocked at
Morrigan's read-through of the black grimoire you get in the mage tower and how it turns out her "mother" has had many other "daughters" in the past and plans on taking over her body.

So far, loving the game. I just unlocked blood mage for my hero and once she levels up again I'll finally get to put some points into it. Now to continue on...

Yeah. No puppy for you. You could just reload to an earlier save if you really want it though. (And you have an earlier save!)

Its pretty easy to miss stuff in this game though, you get so many choices and stuff happens after you leave places that you can just miss party members and crap.

Anything really bad about the 360 version? I really want blood dragon armor for ME2

Edit: Reading through the thread. Im torn on what to get.
Get the PC version. You won't regret it.

Yes you missed it. You might have an auto-save to fall back on if you didnt manually save. Also you might want to check the Quartermaster again at night since his stock replenishes.

I'm enjoying the game so far. I admit I did the redcliff
where you kill the demon twice, because you know I had to get me some of that sweet sweet demon lovin'.

I run around with 3 mages in my party and Allistar. It's pretty awesome. Although I was sad to drop the War Dog because he was named after my own dog :( He was so cute. The only thing missing is a person to unlock all those chests I miss.

I'm kind of disappointed though in that the game reminds of Mass Effect where all the dialogue options essentially lead to the same outcome. Sure someone may die, or you choose to fight someone sooner rather than later, but it all leads to the same general outcome (at least as far as I have seen during my play time). Still really enjoying it though.

The biggest problem of the game for me is the tactics system. Please correct me if I'm wrong about anything maybe I haven't found the options for these. It is missing a NOT which really bugs me, I would like a Enemy NOT any status effect, use that ice spell that freezes them. Is there anyway to combine two ifs where they both have to occur? Like enemy health >=75 && self mana >=50 use this? If I put two to the same spell using those, will it use the spell if either is met, or if both are met?

I admit that the tactics definitely helps, as I do have it all set up for most of my characters so that I don't have to directly control them as often.

So. i just concluded my 1st playthrough as a Dalish Elven warrior.
Finished the game just under 40 hours and i was level 21. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Very solid experiance, only a few minor bugs that i ran into along the way. Combat never got boring and the dialogue and choices (especially towards the end game) were very very good and had me sitting there considering the outcomes seriously.

MY single grief about the game is that initially i thought you couldnt continue exploring, turns out you can (there is an epilogue save) but it closes out everything but your party camp and the DLC...which i did during my playthtough.

Question being, am i doing something wrong? or do i have to play on a save before the final encounter if i am to access the other areas of the world.
Thanks for the help. Hope u are all enjoying it as much as me!

It sucks but thats been Bioware since BG1. All choices lead to the same outcome for the most part. At least theyve gotten better with how those choices flow this time around.

Level 25. You can't get that high without cheating, but if you do, it's impossible to get to 26.

thats what I figured..

is it me or is there no grinding to be done? I am at lvl 8 but it seems at this point in the game there is no way to lvl my player higher than the game wants me to be.

Completely random event.

While I'm enjoying the game for the most part, I'm finding some of the story choices fairly disappointing. Apologies for the wall 'o text.

The biggest thing is that while there isn't a "Santa Claus" to keep track of all the naughty and nice things that you do in the game, your party members are so one track that they might as well serve as morality meters. If you want to play "good", you bring three certain NPCs with you. If you want to play "bad", you bring the other three NPCs.

Now, there's the thing where
you can make Leliana and Alistar bitter and cynical
which changes things up a bit, but the fact that you can't do the same for the other characters kind of makes it moot.

I'd have a few solutions:

Make the relationship meter invisible, like KoTOR2. That way, you don't know how you are doing with them through a number - you'd actually have to pay attention to how they treat you.

They could also have bonuses that come from having the characters dislike you. As it stands, there's almost no reason NOT to please everyone in your party, especially since the game essentially gives you huge bonuses for being schizophrenic. One minute you're
sweet and hopeful with Leliana
and the next you're a
bitter, cynical asshole with Morrigan
.

They could also have all story quests effect your standing with all the characters, even if they are not in the party. It's so silly that you can do the
Crow missions
and have it negatively effect your standing with certain members of your party... but if you just take them out and leave them at camp, they don't mind. Now, that said, there are moments in the game where choosing the "wrong" action will make characters turn on you - usually related to the main quest line - but the fact that it doesn't carry over to the side quests is fairly disappointing.

And on an unrelated note, I also found the end of the City Elf origin disappointing. I mean, they market the hell out of the overindulgent violence (look, you're covered with blood!) and the R-rated sex scenes, but they don't want to even try to accurately represent sexual assault? I swear I didn't know that
Shianni was raped until you get to Ostragar and confront the King with it
because they didn't even try to show it in the game.
It's all heavily implied through speech at the end, but when you actually confront the Arl, the characters are just standing there normally as if nothing had happened. I'm not saying I need Law and Order SVU in my game, but if the moment was supposed to be tragic or illicit anger, it kind of fell flat on its face.

Welp, back to playing. :lol

There's a way to grind, but it's not worth doing since the game seems to scale with your level.

The scaling isn't absolute, the last few of the main quests I went on were noticeably easier than the first few. Maybe my party is just set up better, but even bosses/enemies that should have been much harder were not as difficult as their counterparts from earlier quests.

What difficulty were you playing on?

I think the last patch made easy and normal a bit easier.

Wynne question

I finished the mage story arc, and I told Wynne I'll recruit her later. However, I can't find her in the tower.

Did I screw up?

8 hours in. I do not think that this game is outstanding (yet), yet I admit it's one of the most addicting games I've played. The world is very engaging and has a lot of great backstory and cool characters. Some good music and art direction, too. The battle system is all right. I am finding the game very easy and the graphics to be just decent, as well. Is it just me? Is it something with the Xbox 360 version?
The game was really easy until I was midway through my first treaty quest and from then on I suddenly started to get wiped quite often.

Where can i find Arcane Warrior specialisation? Also, do i have to start giving Morrigan STR points, or is it that unnecessary?

Killed first ogre in tower of Ishal. He was tough to beat on hard. After trying for about half an hour, I changed difficulty to easy and fuck the shit out of him. :lol

Oh and story twist was nice surprise. Didn't see that coming.

Okay, so I'm going after the
werewolves in the forest and i got past the dragon. I've been making my way through the keep but there's this metal door I can't get past and a fountain in the middle of the room. I have to do something with this altar to get past it, I believe, but I can't seem to get past it no matter what combination of things I try. I figured out that just drinking the entire jug is bad since the wraiths came out and attacked me...but I have no clue how to actually get the door open.

Any tips?

It starts getting good later. With Master Archer, if I use Arrow of Slaying, it does 200+ damage. Also, I can shoot fast enough to interrupt any spells that take time to cast, and I'm now picking up some more debuff spells. It was weak as hell from the start though. Lethality is also pretty much a must. Level 11 btw.
It's less painful at the start if you rush cone of cold on morrigan and kill shot or w/e for a shatter combo. Definitely horrible though, I'm level 10 and still using a goddamn rank 1 darkspawn xbow. My main character is essentially background damage and a knockdown spell. Lilliana coming with better trap detection and stealing and full archery talents made me cry.

There is a tablet with directions that tell you exactly what to do, should be recorded in the codex when you find it, don't remember it of the top of my head.

But here goes
go to the fountain
take the pitcher
fill it up with water
leave the fountain
There is an altar off to the side that is hard to notice walk to it
place the pitcher on the on the altar
pray before the altar
take the pitcher and take a sip from it
leave the alter
poor the water back into the fountain

(you don't need to get in there to progress with the story)

You're probably right. I was getting my ass handed to me around my first dungeon that I had to switch it to easy(and even then I was having problems with the sub/main bosses). Now that I'm at my 2nd dungeon, I find the mobs much easier to take down. The sub and main bosses though are still pretty tough.

The difficulty is probably due to not having enough CC abilities and health pots at the beginning. The game became much easier once Morrigan got her frost cone spell, which is a godsend when fighting large groups.

The patch broke my game. I can't load the game from the launcher, fuck you bioware!

I have the same issue. The launcher doesn't get recognized and won't boot no matter how many times I click on it. Have to start the game manually through the .exe. Highly annoying. Also because I want to try normal after installing the patch. I am still playing on easy, because it gets annoying dying at simple random encounters. My free time is too precious and scarce to waste on dying over and over again.

Just noticed I lost all my achievement progress and screenshots on reinstall even though I clicked on save everything. Just fucking brilliant.

Has anyone gotten the Earthen Jug Puzzle in the
Werewolf Ruins
?

I looked up the solution online and I'm taking the right steps but whenever I attempt to interact with the altar it just gives me the dialogue box and doesn't do anything with the jug. Did I miss a story related event or something?

I'm curious why is starting game manually throught .exe is annoying.

Personally, I always create desktop shortcut for main game exe so that I don't have to go through the launcher. It is fast and convenient.

Oh wow I just fixed it. Just spammed the update a few times. :lol

Navigating through directories every time can be a bit annoying, no? I like to keep my desktop tidy. Anyway, it is no longer a problem thankfully.

Now to play on normal.

And find out that even with the patch I have to change it back to easy again.:lol

Windows 7? Just drag the launcher to your game explorer, the link there was broke but the launcher itself still works.
