Oh wow I just fixed it. Just spammed the update a few times. :lol

Navigating through directories every time can be a bit annoying, no? I like to keep my desktop tidy. Anyway, it is no longer a problem thankfully.

Now to play on normal.

And find out that even with the patch I have to change it back to easy again.:lol

Heh, I thought the same thing, but in the end, it was back to easy. :(

Where can i find Arcane Warrior specialisation? Also, do i have to start giving Morrigan STR points, or is it that unnecessary?
If you go through the Dalish Elves questline you should find it. Explore the lower ruins. In some little room you'll find a gem that starts a cutscene. And I think strength is unnecessary for arcane warriors.

As soon as I learned about injuries, I obsessively bought every injury kit I ever saw in a shop and I'm pleased to say I never had this problem.

Better yet, have one of your mages specialized as Spirit Healer and you get an aura that cures wounds for everybody in the party except the spirit healer itself so you only need a few kits for the healer.

I just finished the game. Played all the way through on normal with a rogue/assassin/duelist, ended up level 23. The last act was fairly easy, seemed like the scaling of levels was broken for everything except the leadership. The grunts were all 1-2 hit cannon fodder.

I'm so pissed at Morrigan.
I said no to creating our own little Damien at the end and she hit the road. Not only was she the only decent herbalist on my team, she took all of her equipment with her too, including my suit of dragon scale plate.

I'm glad I'm taking my time with this one. Since I don't plan to get anything else cept for L4D2 this year, I have plenty of time to finish until ME2.

Where do i get shale, the wiki says honnleath but i don't see that anywhere on my map.

There's a merchant that you have to talk to before the Honnleath town will open, he's somewhere on the northwestern part of the map. Check your quest log under "Premium Quests"

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
So, can someone tell me why Liliana won't bunk with my female human even though i've maxed her affinity out, and even did her character specific quest in Denerim.

There isn't even an option in the dialogue tree's in the team camp. Meanwhile that stupid elf guy is ready to go at it all the time and Alister is never freaking ready. She did sing a song for me one night, kinda off, but still that's not what i'm after >_>

halp plz ? Do i need to pass a certain point in the story before that happens ?

edit : does it make a difference if sometimes characters think me and that elf guy are a couple ?

I don't have it as a quest, the only quest under premium is wardens keep. And yes, i have the stone prisoner dlc activated.

Playing Hard on the 360 and just got my first full party and I'm in the Wilds now. This game is fantastic. It really feels like Baldur's Gate all over again. It's so damn awesome. I can't believe it's been almost a decade since we've last had something like this from Bioware.

One bad thing though is that the game does a very poor job of explaining the mechanics to you. You're basically left to figure out a lot of things yourself. I have already triggered a few traps in the field and I still have no idea how to detect them using my rogue. I've tried going stealth and walking up to the traps but I still can't seem to detect them. Anyone?

Also, does anyone have any tips for an Elf Mage? What level can I expect to be by the end of the game? And knowing that, what spells should I get and what should I avoid? And what about attributes distribution? I'm basically pumping Willpower, Magic and Cunning for now and leaving all the other attributes untouched.

Put my rogue game on hold and started a mage run. Holy crap at how much easier the game is. It's actually kind of ridiculous how powerful some of the spells are, you can just disable half the enemy team in the first few seconds.

Force Field is probably the most useful, not one non-boss enemy has resisted it yet and it disables one enemy for like 20-30 seconds. Another great use for it is sending Alistair to aggro the enemy and using it on him.

Crushing Prison is similar, disables one enemy and DoTs it.

Cone of Cold is another very strong one. Hits multiple enemies and puts most of them out of the combat for ~10 seconds.

Next I'm trying the sleep line and probably take some nuke spells. Anyone tested different elemental spells? Which does the most damage?

Has anyone gotten the Earthen Jug Puzzle in the
Werewolf Ruins
?

I looked up the solution online and I'm taking the right steps but whenever I attempt to interact with the altar it just gives me the dialogue box and doesn't do anything with the jug. Did I miss a story related event or something?

You're probably missing a codex entry in which all the steps are described. You get it from an item, can't remember if it's a book or a note, but it's definately somewhere in the dungeon.

Starting a warrior, and i 'm wondering if playing as a tank is viable? Anyone tried it?
I haven't heard great things for 2hander spec and i'm done with dual-wield since i have a rogue at lvl19.

Also a question about my rogue, if someone is willing to give me a status check.

Assasin + Duelist + Rogue talents.
Passive Dual Weapons talents only.
Daggers only (going for backstabs) (Tier 7 dragonbone daggers, fancy ones)

With bonuses..
STR 24
DEX 66
CUN 34
Damage: 23.5/23.5

It was fine untill lvl 16 but now i feel like i'm under performing.
Were daggers a bad choice? How are swords in comparison?
Should i have invested in more active dual wield skills?
I figured i'd go for backstabs only and garanteed crit so skipped all else. Big mistake no. 2?

How do I tell my Rogue to concentrate on backstabs? Will he do it automatically. Mine is lvl 10 and is death-fodder atm.

Honestly i dont know. You are much further along than me. Thats the problem with a new game system.. such a pain to try and figure out what works, what doesnt. im so hesitant to spend my level up points because of this.

edit: also, you can do backstabs with swords (dont know about axes and maces). The damage upgrade might be worth the difference in crit from the dagger.

Did you spend any skill points in trap-making for your rogue? Manual says that the 2nd and 4th rank increases the range at which the rogue can detect enemy traps.

Does anyone have the link to where to find the trainers for the specializations? It seems kinda shitty that you can get level 7 and never get a specialization until you actually find the trainer which could be level 9 or 10.

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
Good morning GAF! Time to continue with this sometimes-oh-so-awesome-game!

Daggers are supposed to count damage from DEX + STR but currently it's bugged so they only count STR. So yeah, no wonder you aren't doing the damage you should be.

Wow, some of those isometric shots look stunning for a 3D engine.

And I can't believe how much authenticity a simple feature like persistent gore adds.

I haven't found a way sadly. I have to position him my self. I spent most of the time actively playing my rogue in TP camera for quick and easy positioning.

The hell? has this been patched with the recent patch? >_< (haven't updated yet).

For backstabs I manually move them into position.

Sometimes I'm just lazy since I just get my tank and a half + rogue & pet all up in it and do one enemy at the tine while Mage sits back and supports.

I'm getting really lazy with the side quests in Orz. so I ended up finishing the story elements instead. I couldn't find anyone use for the gems while I was there so I guess I'll sell them.

For the whole fountain thing, there's a codex entry inside a sarcophagus in a side room a few halls down before the fountain.

I've dropped Morrigan for Wynne; made life easier, don't have to worry about HP.

Edit - thanks for the backstab fix

Well I would assume you would get a sense for what a tank is like if you are level 19 with any character. Unless you never take control of them yourself.

Tank spec is my favorite so far after trying all the other specs with different characters. Start with some of the offensive talents like Shield Pummel, Overpower, and Assault and save the rest of the tree for later. You can still do quite a bit of damage if you load up on strength.

I've kept my party exactly the same since I got Leilani, I think I have the 4 most developed characters, the others seem a little hollow.

I'm pretty much set with Morrigan, Alistar, and Zevran. It gives me variety, plus I think they're the 3 best characters when it comes to their dialogue during conversations. They're not necessarily the best party for the tougher combat scenarios, but I like to keep my favorite characters with me so I don't miss out on anything story wise. But then again, I just unlocked Shale so I might want to get him into the rotation.

Wait for official patch or d/l??? Hmmm....

Well its like a mod that fixes the issue. It goes into your Override folder and should be easy to replace once a patch that addresses the issue hits. The console version can be patched too right? (i dont have any consoles with hard drives so i honestly dont know and am genuinely curious)

Yeh, he's a bit good. Oh and his scene when you leave that village had me fucking pissing myself.

Not fixed in the latest patch, but an unoffical fix can be downloaded here.

Ty for this. Tool tip damage spiked 5 points, backstabs are stronger :)

Party members that i allways keep with me no matter what.
Alister - full tank spec, Templar and going for Champion talents for extra mass knockbacks.
Morrigan - Walking Nightmare, full Electric, 3 in cold.
Wynne - Full Mage/Spirit Healer, Heroic defense

Morrigan and Wynne both have crusshing prison/forcefield, excelent CC.

It has been working great so far.

Not yet since I just got him. But I was literally just standing beside the trap and I didn't see anything. I was in stealth mode though.

Shale's terrific, he's a staple in my party along with Alistair and Morrigan. He's frequently amusing, and sometimes hilarious. Great tank counterpart to my mage in combat as well.

Once I get Zevran I will likely replace Morrigan with him, not because I don't like her, but because my shapeshifting mage basically makes her redundant in combat (at least until lvl 14) and Zevran would make my party a lot more balanced. I'll miss her banter with Alistair, but oh well. There's always next playthrough, when I likely won't be rolling a mage.

I see.
I'm playing as a human warrior, I've pumped a shitload of points into strength so I do all the heavy lifting, all I really need for the rest of my party is a mage and rogue. Unfortunately, Zevran came with skills more focused on poison and assassin type stuff, so he hasn't been much of a help with traps and lockpicking, but I'd rather retrain them than have Leilana (or whatever) in my party. She's too boring of a character, I much prefer Zevran's funny responses to situations. It's the same case with Morrigan vs. Wynne, Wynne would be way better for my party but she's boring as hell. I'll probably swap Shale in for Alistar, I like Alistars character but I made a mistake in building him almost identical to my character, we're both trained in shield & sword.

Like many others I have Morrigan, Zevran and Alistar as my party. My character is a blood mage atm (only unlocked 1 so far) and I may have her go arcane warrior next. Alistar has a full massive armor set (the one from the woods that gives all the resistances) and has a pretty pimp 1h axe...so he's a beast. I can't wait to hit lvl 14 (currently lvl 13) to get the next blood mage trait (the aoe one). Should be a blast.

Yeah, I've kept some characters in my party mostly to hear them talk.

I would benefit more overall from having a rogue or pure healer in my party to replace Morrigan, but I've kept her in my main 4 because her back-and-forth with Alistair is entertaining and happens surprisingly frequently, probably moreso than the combo of any other two characters (those two voice actors probably have a lot more overall lines in the game than anybody).

Wouldn't feel so bad replacing her with a guy like Zevran, though, who I've wanted in my party since the start.

So, this has probably been beaten to death, but do I get the Stone Prisoner DLC when buying the regular edition from Steam? I did not preorder.

Everything I'm reading says I should have it, but I entered the only code I have at the redeem site and it apparently did nothing.
