What you guys mean by DPS?

Also, seems people have hound as a party member in Tower of Ishal battle. How did you guys get him? I gave flower to that guy in the camp and he said come back after battle.

DPS is Damage Per Second.

Basically someone who can dish out alot of damage.

You should run into the dog on your way to lothering.

Also,
Blood Mage
is amazing.

I say, im an master archer and archery feels like shit compared to blades

No joke. Wish I could bring Leliana along for some lockpicking, but her DPS is just abhorrent. Right now I'm mostly passing up chests till I can get Zev's lockpicking skill and cunning up to an acceptable level.

How did people build up their rogue specializations? Bard looks to have about the most utility and will probably be the first one ill go for with my rogue.

some but not much. This really feels like a massive intro to the universe. I expect at least one sequel, or want at least one.
i guess thats what they mean by Origins :lol Bioware has said that they intend to support DA for at least 2 years with DLC including expansion packs. The xpacs will probably build up to DA2.

So console versions are no go, right? :(

Having played both, I would say that the console versions are still very good. If you have the choice, get the PC version; if not, then the console versions are absolutely fine.

But the cool down time on them make them pretty meh
DPS is put to shame even by my shield tank

Wish I could respec for dual weapons
Hmm, dunno. Rapid Shot really is pretty sweet. Do you have Lethality?

So uh... about the end of Stone Prisoner... with your special friend...

Is there any way to fuck her up without her totally possessing Amalia? I managed to end the conflict non-violently and got Wilhelm's shitty staff out of it but I would much rather kill the desire demon and have the girl intact.

Yoshichan

And they made him a Lord of Cinder. Not for virtue, but for might. Such is a lord, I suppose. But here I ask. Do we have a sodding chance?
A lot of friends requested that I recorded how to beat the Dragon in Brecilian Forest without barely using any potions (yes they're as potion-hateful as me) so I did.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFl_U3K29iQ

Note that I haven't put stat points or spell/skill points in a couple of levels so I'm pretty much three or four levels below the actual requirement here, I'd guess :)

she didnt posses the girl for me. I completed the puzzle and spoke to them again, the girl got a bit freaked out by the cat who decided to posses the girl anyway but I selected the last dialogue option (i think) which basically has you telling the demon she cant have the girl. The girl then bolts and you fight the desire demon.

might be different for different characters

Yeah, that worked. I tried it in another scenario where I didn't do the puzzle first and it didn't work so I didn't bother retrying it. Thanks.

I'm kinda freaked out about how you have to be logged in to Bioware's site to actually use the DLC, not only to install it. Far too restrictive.

So why did people get very pessimistic about the game before towards release saying "Horrible awkward dialogue" and how the game is going to suck? The game has great dialogue and great scenes and music and gameplay. People were Actually convinced the game was going to be horrible wow

Anyone have trouble downloading the stone prisoner DLC? I was able to download and install all the bonus items ok but after I download this the install always fails. Anyone else experience this?

So quick question guys...

I was just given the quest to kill Flemeth. Should I tackle it? I've heard it's quite hard

The videos that Bioware released beforehand were horrible. The dialogue in them was pretty awful since all that we saw was the most "extreme" actions and stuff like "GRAB A WHORE AND HAVE A GOOD TIME MWAHAHAHAHA!" It wasnt very hard for me to get down on the game especially since Bioware was touting a game along the lines of Baldurs Gate.

There were mentions in this tread about your party members getting XP even when you're not using them. Thats not the case for me ... I'm playing hard on pc ... whats up with that?

I'm 20 hours in and just finished my first major quest, the Circle of Magi. Damn, that quest became way too tedius when I reached
The Fade
. But the rewards from that section were well worth it.

I found an item there that unlocked Morrigan's personal quest.
Maker's breath, Flemmeth the dragon wrecked my team with a quickness!
I'll have to try this quest later on :lol . Off to Red Cliff I go...

I entered the ruins where the werewolves are and they barred the door, if you go deeper in the ruin you meet a dragon who seems to just utterly rape my entire party. I haven't had too much trouble up to this point but this mother fucker is strong. Do I have to beat him to keep going on the quest? I have just left Lothering.

Was the
Dragon
behind the metal door with the water fountain? I did that and was looking for where to put the jug but after running through that dungeon tons of times I can't the altar anywhere.

Real talk, how is the console port? I know it's probably not as pretty as the PC version, but is it functional?

I am enjoying it a lot. Everything works. Yes, it's definitely a game geared for PC gaming, but the did an excellent job with the UI

Yeah man, that
dragon
wrecked my shit, which was surprising since I did a pretty good job with the one
on the mountaintop
. The Drake Scale Armor you can make helps a little bit, but it's still gonna be a while before I give that another go.

It's great. The combat plays pretty much exactly like mass effect. Only thing is seeing all these bugs that the PC version makes me wonder how skeevy the console is, and when in a blue moon it'll get an update.

Its in the same room as the fountain. on the left side of the wall as you come in. the room beyond that puzzle is optional. But i thought it was worthwhile.

I did it at level 14 without losing a single character in combat. PC version on easy.

Keep in mind, I'm early in my first real playthrough but Moorigan just gained a boost in magic from me talking to her. Kind of cool. :D

So is there a preferred order I should go about completing the main quest locations in? Or am I pretty safe going about it in any order?

Is it just me, or was there a Dwarf with Wrex's voice?
He popped up in one of the random map encounters. Maybe we're thinking of the same guy and what I think sounds like Wrex actually sounds like Sully, but still, it would be crazy if there were 3 Uncharted voice actors in DA.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
So is the whole of Denerim ever going to open up as a Human ?

because i've done SO much story stuff already, but i can still only visit 2 of the 8 or so sectors on the city map, the rest are always greyed out.

A Chanter's Board quest opens up the back alleys I think (might be a quest from the sergeant)

The Landsmeet is plot-related, as is (i assume) the castle and fortress

Not sure how to get in to the Alienage- probably opens up after a certain quest or a set plot point.

I believe there is a codex entry related to his introduction. It's a good read and has a fairly pertinent detail.

I'm pretty sure that fight is optional.

wait never mind me I'm thinking of something a little different maybe.

My 2H warrior is doing OK. I kind of get the feeling he's 1/2 crappy tank and 1/2 crappy DPS though.
vvvI guess I have to buy Warden's Keep :[

Holy shit, the Superman Meteor Stone 2-hander greatsword is a beast of a weapon. (when you see that scene, you'll know what I'm talking about)

Goddamn, I'm probably just shitty but this game can be incredibly hard. Just finished the (Morrigan spoiler!)
Flemeth quest, and I had to drop down to Easy to be able to get past her.
Even on Easy it was a complete bitch.

Does answering all of the riddles in the gauntlet correctly get you anything special? If not, I'd rather take the exp for defeating all the flame demons.

If you play the Dwarf nobility intro, the guy who voices Sully in Uncharted voices the King in this. It's a decent sized role.

Warnen

Don't pass gaas, it is your Destiny!
Got up at 4am and started to play just got done nearly 12 hours later and I finished it (about 45hrs total for me, played on easy and didn't do some of the side quests).

Morrigan had my "old god" baby"

Gonna play again and change the way I got the treaties fullfilled. Great game!

PS are there any other dragons besides
The end boss, High Dragon (ash one) and Flemith?
?

You can come back later, I advise doing so.

His name will still be orange but you'll have better gear/skills. No hurry on killing the revenants except for one you have to kill in Redhill.

Anyways, the keys to beating these guys are 1) only having your tank in melee range, 2) dedicated healer, 3) mana potions, 4) flame/+dam to undead weapon on tank, 5) bows/crossbows for everybody else, 6) patience.

You need to drop Leliana for Morrigan. Debuffs and stuns are absolutely necessary for Revenant fights and you already have a rogue in your party.

I tackled him with my Main (Mage: Stunning, Misdirection Hex [So gooood!], Healing), Wynne (Healing, Just spamming Heal and Group Heal constantly), Alistair (Taunting, Threaten, Tanking, dealing a little bit of damage) and Sten (Walloping for massive damage from behind).

This was on Hard mode, and I went through about 4 Lesser Lyrium potions and 3 Health Poultices (When my mages' heals were cooling down).

Also, if you can get Force Field on Morrigan, it makes these fights so much easier. Throwing up a Force Field gives you thirty seconds to heal up, recharge your cooldowns and get everyone back in position.

Is having the three or foursome with the chick in The Pearl in Denirem only a one time thing or can it be done any time later as well ?
