IX is the shortest of the 3 he listed, but you can spend a long time on optional stuff. My husband spent hundreds of hours on it (he's also a crazy DQ fan like I am).
Yeah I think I played that like 300-400 hours myself lol. So much alchemy.

Thanks.Standard advice is to just use them all on MC/avatar.
Thanks.
Another question, grinding isn't necessary correct? As long as I'm not avoiding fights frequently I should be on the right difficulty curve?
So should I just use seeds as I find them, not worrying if a characters leave? Or should I just use them all in the avatar.
I'm in the first dungeon. I've only played maybe 10 hours of dragon quest iv before this and never used seeds due to analysis paralysis.
Nearing the end of the game and I'm not sure who I'm meant to talk to to proceed.
Apparently they're having a feast for me in Pilchard Bay but I can't seem to trigger any event.
Have youspoken to the chef inside the ship?
Haha oh god. I really hate this game sometimes
A nothing character says a load of nothing followed by "Well the festival will be starting soon, shouldn't you be getting on your way?" and that's the one trigger in the whole village you need.
Alright, sitting around 65 hours, just gotAishe in the party. She's totally a descendant of Keifer, which is a plot point I did not have spoiled for me prior lol. Cool.
However, I'm still salty about Maribel leaving the party. I know she returns, but in the meantime, I've lost my main healer/mage I've been building for a while now. She was two stars away from maxing out Luminary, and she was setup for Sage as well on the path to Summoner. Oh well. Aishe doesn't seem like a healer-type to me either, though I guess at this point everyone sort of has healing abilities. Should I groom her into Champion (i'm doing the same for Mervyn) while focusing on getting to Hero with the MC? I've got Ruff on Monster Masher and I'm perfectly happy with him currently.
Tbh. I just looked that one up. Guessed where it was sailing around the island right but...had no idea how to get to it. I glaze over a lot of dialogue these days though, even when I don't want to.So, during the Buccanham chapter, was there a hint on how to get to?the Rainbow Shore
A scholar tells you it's on your island, but when you go back there, your party simply treks you to go back to Buccanham and the fortune-teller in the castle is useless. Heck, the way they spoke of it made it seem like I should have been there before.

That explains a lot. This is one change that is worse in the remake becausein the original the path leading to the cove isn't blocked off on the world map like it is in the remake. The only way to get there is through the blue teleportal in the shrine, it's a really odd change.
Dang, it's weird because then how was Pike able to get there at the beginning? I wish they would not change your party all the time ....
I just lost my healer because I'm at the point in the story whereDon't really feel like grinding a job for someone else to be a sage : /Maribel's father is sick or something .
What should I do ? My main character is currently a priest because I want to get the paladin class (already got Gladiator maxed and martial artist)
Also it's funny because I was so expecting to see aAishe is a decent dmg dealer at leastto show updescendant of Kiefer
Yeah only reason I knew is because I tried that door earlier on. I don't know that there was any indication of it.
If you can get your hands on a healslime heart, that could help. Doesn't take all that long to master and will give you multiheal indefinitely.
Have in character inventory at Alltrades and then change vocation and the relevant monster vocation is available.I have not really messed around with the whole tablet and residents thing with the haven/monster meadow and I got a bunch of monster hearts.
But never really bothered to use them, well, actually how do we use them ? I tried to use one once and it did nothing .

Is it important to use vocations? U're stats appear to drop so much. I don't really get their purpose. Is it only for the extra skills? So if u never take a vocation u wont get any new skills?

How do he quick saves work? Normally quick saves in jrpgs mean it saves your state and shuts down, then when you load it it deletes that save.
But I recall reading in some preview threads that is not how dragon quest handles it. It saves and shut down, but when you load the save it isn't deleted and can be reloaded? Is that accurate?
I think you're supposed to share tablets of a particular monster that you want to level up. I haven't played much with it so far but that seems to be my impression. So I finally made my first table and shared it, what now?
Am I supposed to share the same table over and over or it's better to send different types?
Need help withnottagen, there is a monster in front of the mayor house that looks a rock bomb but it's asleep and won't fight me , I assume I need to kill it to continue buy can't figure it out. No one is giving hints either just. .....

Just make everyone champion
Good damage, multiheal, kabuff, oomph, insulate, magic barrier. Don't need anything else.
And also, you're taking your time! I'm speaking to every NPC, breaking every pot, checking every path etc etc and I got to that spot at least 10-15 hours quicker than you.
On the bottom floor?Thing I never figured out:
What do I do to get past thegreen plant monster blocking a door in the Cathedral of Blight?
I wish they would not change your party all the time ....
