Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen PC |OT| Wolves hunt in 4K

So thankful for that character editor trainer. Thought my character looked fine then when put in motion just looked so derpy to me lol.

That reddit thread title makes me a bit sad. I made the conversion to work for console to PC, but most people are now seeing it as "pirated copy to retail savegame converter," even though that's just an accidental unintended feature of the tool.

the silver lining is their transferring it to a copy they bought I guess.

Alright was finally able to convert the old save to the new one correctly. I'll post the steps here so that people don't have to go searching reddit/steam forums to find it.

1. Download the save file editor Sectus made and follow his instructions on how to get that to work.

2. Start the steam version long enough so that it creates a new save for that version. Navigate to the folder where it is saved (should be \userdata\49657277\367500\remote) and rename that save so that it is easier to differentiate between the two

3. Make sure that you have copied the old save from (\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Steam\CODEX\367500\remote) to the place that you installed the editor to.

4. Copy the steam save over to the same place and then unpack it so that it is a xml/txt file by following Sectus' instructions on how to do so. Then navigate to the bottom of the file (or ctrl+f to search for your steam id) and copy your steam id.

5. Unpack the old save the same way you did the steam save, and then go to the bottom of the file and paste your steam id over the one in the old file.

6. Delete the copy of the steam save and its txt file (you don't have to delete if you don't want to, I did it just to be sure) and then repack the old save with your steam id by running this command. DDsavetool.exe -r DDDA.sav.txt (if you changed the name of the old save then ddda.sav will be whatever you changed it to but that is the default)

7. Copy the repacked .sav file over to where the steam save was originally located. If you renamed the original steam save then you will have to delete it in order for it to replace it.

8. Launch the game and it should load up your old save correctly.

Also SLI bits 0x02402005 and 0x02432005 work but don't scale very well. You'd probably get around 65%-75% on each card before getting clapped with negative scaling but no adverse rendering issues of note that I saw.
They don't work for me. Extreme slowdown with both bits. In fact, none of the MT Framework bits work for me.

Hey, where do I put these into inspector to get the SLi benefits?
Just asking so I'm ready to go when I get home.

Looking for some good GeDoSaTo / SweetFX shading presets too so I can make this game even better.

If you follow the instructions in the OT as how to make a custom profile look right near the top where it says 'SLI compatibility bits' (the last one not the (DX1x) box) and then scroll down to the SLI headed section and amened the Number of GPUs to FOUR and the Predefined Mode to AFR2 and then click Apply Changes at the top right.

They don't work for me. Extreme slowdown with both bits. In fact, none of the MT Framework bits work for me.

Well as I said I got upto ~75% scaling before I got into negative scaling at about 40% per card. Started to go through the DX9 bits one by one but they all have issues or don't work so far.

What you can do with just a 5 button mouse (which is pretty much the minimum now for every mouse in over the last decade) is remap the middle button to the Use/E key and the forward and back buttons to Primary and Secondary Skills Sets respectively and you have all the combat buttons under your mouse hand in piss easy reach. You can then have your keyboard hand focused solely on movement and your mouse hand committed to attack which flows really, really well.
Does sound swell. I'll admit I've not messed around with the bindings just yet but the defaults are nice.

That's a problem with every character creator, instant regret after you finalize and see your character in motion. Though DD is good in that you can change your look and your pawn's look anytime by paying RC or in post game where you can buy the item to change infinite times.

do you get rid of Rook anytime soon? I want to make a mage pawn but not hang around with 2

Does this version fix the problem of the exact same mobs being in the exact same place every time you travel from A to B?

Spend 45 minutes creating a character just to have him look goofy as fuck in game lol. This game at 60 fps just feels all sorts of weird especially when playing the sub 20 fps versions on PS3 and Xbox.

Anyone know how to get the PS4 controller to work, or do I need DS4Windows?

So, is it recommended to use a gamepad to play this? I would prefer a M+KB setup, and see some positive thoughts about it in this thread, but I'm just curious if this is similar to Dark Souls where it's mostly essential to own one despite having K+MB controls.

Guys don't forget to pick up the Eternal Ferrystone from an Inn's storage.

It will let you return to Gran Soren or your home town at any time in an instant. It will also let you teleport between points you set up. It has infinite uses.

It's not like Dark Souls 1 at all (where the mouse controls were simply broken, unmodded at least). It's more like Dark Souls 2: KB/M work well, and obviously better than a controller for camera control, but still with some niggles due to the console heritage.

IN.

Not quite the look I had on my 360 save, but close enough. Face is less angular. Can't decide whether I want to run with him again or try being a female Arisen this time, either. We'll see!
Game feels freakin' great to play at 60fps. Fighting the Chimera was awesome.

Rain looked a bit funky though.

Yo guys how demanding is this thing? If my (pretty old) machine can run, let's say, Dark Souls 2 perfectly fine, will it be good with Dogma?

Gotcha. That's what I sort of meant by being pretty much essential for a smooth experience. I'll give the M+KB a shot, but most likely I'll use a gamepad. Thanks!

how do we know which pawns are player created? I dont to use those to help peeps out.

This Haldir fighter looks Capcom made, if not, props on whoever created him

edit: oh it says creator's name in one of the tabs, looks like a actual player.

When playing with a ds4 and using ds4windows I can't seem to get the 360 icons to stay, I just get keyboard icons, super annoying!

lol, this is exactly how I feel about this. Well, that and I don't have a choice. My only DD: DA file is on my PS3 and I barely made any progress on that version of the game. My real meaty character is on the 360 vanilla version.

I know it's probably been asked but is there a way to make the in-game button icons look like the DS4 button icons? Alls I get is 1,2,3,4 displays when I'm using my DS4.

Strange thing happened when I was using my really old logitech controller, a lot of the buttons were rearranged. Hold R2 to do skills instead of R1. Triangle for light attack, square for heavy instead of the other way around. Yikes, I thought I was way worse at this game than I remembered. Although, it was fun for how challenging it was.

Now I remember why I played offline on consoles... Resting at the inn still takes a minute with pawn syncing every time.

How are loading times for people running it "vanilla"? I'm only using ENB and I can't tell I'm playing it off an SSD.
And what the hell is a level infinite lol?
Infinite = max level (200)

Is anyone else not able to set the game to resolutions >1080p on a 4K display? Anything over 1080p including my native desktop resolution of 3840x2160p results in the game minimizing to the Windows 10 taskbar, where it gets stuck and needs to be forcibly shutdown. That happens with both fullscreen and borderless windowded (with 3rd party tool) modes. Toggling "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings" has no effect, and neither does setting the desktop resolution to 1080p. I've never had this happen before, and have no clue what to try next.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I choose a strider.

I enjoy killing those poor defenseless animals in this game. am I a monster?

Nope. It's recommend to kill critters/animals to farm Discipline Points since they give low Experience Points. That way you still get the DP required to level the Vocation you're using without actually leveling up your character.

Leveling up on a Vocation may give you stats you don't want or need on your desired endgame Vocation.

For example, leveling up as a Sorcerer gives you more INT, but less STR and other stats that a melee class such as Warrior would need.

There is one thing that I forgot to mention about the Hard mode for NG+ -stuff, which pretty much only concerns those who care about achievements.

Starting a game on Hard counts as a fresh start, no matter where you were before in the game and this includes the relation to NG+. If this is the same as on the consoles, you can only get the NG+ achievement by loading your completed save, which then starts the actual NG+ on the same difficulty you were on which you then need to complete again. If you care about the cheevo, just make a quick run through the story again and ignore the side stuff.

NG+ changes nothing in the game itself, save for one cosmetic detail.

If I equip an item to another players pawn I can take the item back right?

You can make them carry stuff, but if you actually equip anything on them, those items are going to the pawns owner (The console version had a warning about this, haven't tried it here yet). You *cannot* get them back unless the other guy hires your pawn and repeats the process.

i assume there is NO reason not to always have a full posse of 3 pawns with you?

also, when you return to you game, will all your pawns be with you, or just your main one?

I picked the assassin type character because I thought I wanted to be a magic archer, but after climbing up a Hydra's neck to chop it's head off, I'm thinking I might wanna just crawl on dudes forever.

What vocation should I aim for to be a "mount beasts and slay them" type?

There are those who seem to think Durante can fix the aspect ratio issues...

That's not usually your area, is it?

Though I do wonder if GeDoSaTo can support texture replacement like it did for Dark Souls. That'd be something.

I reached out on that issue and it would take a sizable amount of work to get working on DX9 games it currently doesn't. With PC gaming already moving on to DX12, doesn't seem worth the effort. Especially when there are already options for texture mods on MY Framework games, tho less elegant.

Okay, help please. For the life of me I cannot remember how to add a game to GeDoSaTo.

I added the DDDA name to my whitelist, started the game up, but cannot get the status overlay to appear with +. It is supposed to look like this, right?

DDDA || Dragon's Dogma

Update GeDoSaTo. There was a bug that made key presses not get read, but Durante fixed it.

Your pawns will stay with you always unless you dismiss them in the Rift.

There's a passive skill you can learn later on that gives you increased stats if you choose to go at it alone.

Assassin type is actually the best at doing that. You can mount monsters and slay them AND use Magick Arrows as a Magick Archer later on.

Ok this is weird, I am still getting a disk write error from steam after re-downloading the game. I have enough space on my ssd and hdd, and I am installing this on my hdd, so space is not an issue on either drive. I have verified that there is no errors on my drives too. This is really strange.
