Rushy if you reading, rally added pleeeaassee.

The tracks already in the game are perfect, add more wet mud and some classic rally cars = winning.

The AI are a bit frustrating by design. They seem to have been programmed with a banger race mentality rather than a race mentality. The constantly bump each other and me off of the track which combined with the extremely sticky off road track surface keeps pushing you to the back. They also seem to be unaware of you being alongside them and will not leave you space and just crash into you. I have to say first every racing game I've played where playing online is less crashy than the single player!

Apart from those though, awesome game!

Hmm I don't think you've played online enough, at least the AI doesn't swerve across the track on a straight with the sole aim to put you in the wall / barrier / tree!

The AI is tough and aggressive but it gives it much more personality than say GT where all the cars go through every bend in a line and the faster cars always win. I remember reading about Motorstorm that they wanted people to feel like there were real drivers in the other cars, with their own traits etc.

If nothing else, racing against the AI does prepare you for online and make you think a bit more about choosing the overtaking manoeuvre that puts you at least risk.

Gah at some of the challenges. I am getting really annoyed with myself, I was doing one last night for what seemed like hours and I could go about 1s faster than the top time if I strung my sectors together but could I get one clean lap? nope so I am a tenth down and it irritates me.

That is my problem, I can go pretty fast but I am not at all consistent. I have tried driving a fraction slower to ease up to my ultimate pace but I end up losing concentration and crashing anyway.

Still, practice, practice, practice and I will get there eventually.

On the bright side I am really loving the game and I had no idea I could get so addicted to time trials. It hits especially hard when I know I have the time in me to compete towards the top and I can sit there and do dozens of laps just trying to nail that perfect lap. I think I will go away and try a slightly different approach so I can get some consistency as that would help a lot.

Getting a new Home Hub 5 for free within the next few days. Hope that resolves my connection issues. Will try the ports suggested later today. Going to be a long 8 hours in work

Yeah to be fair maybe i've got lucky but the few online races I have been in have been very civilised!

AI is a tricky thing to get right and I don't think any game has it exactly right. I do prefer DC to GT (which as you say is awful), TBH if they could just be aware that I am inside them as we go into a bend that would probably be enough for me (along with a reduction in the you will stop if you put one wheel off the track punishment!).

Also do you have one of the old style filters?
Might be worth trying the newer clip on ones if so (hope this makes sense?)

If it's having rally I want course notes read out.

98 Scooby, Escorts MkII, Audi quattro, etc.

Would really love to see rally though.

Yeah that slow down for going off track does seem to have got more severe in the latest update I think to counteract people riding the barriers on tight corners. It must be very tricky to get the balance just right, and you can never please everyone. You can be quite aggressive back to the AI cars with side to side impacts so hurling it up the inside and leaning on them works quite well - it tends to be bumper to bumper collisions that give you penalties.

Playing in a club definitely adds to my enjoyment of this game. I've gone from really enjoying it to absolutely hooked. I do like that the AI at least do semi-human things like fuck up and actually overtake each other but man, it's annoying when they smash into you and deduct your points.

Hi everyone, need a quick answer; I'm about to buy Driveclub for 30€, but is the game fixed now ? (And worth the money ?)
Thank you.

Thank you.

Game is great, servers still aren't 100%. There's plenty of single player content though, and I got "face offs" just fine mid races. Not sure how club or multiplayer is working yet, havent' gotten to that yet. But I noticed sometimes the leaderboards still show the loading icon instead of popping up.

It's not always online (ahem like other things) so the network stuff hasnt' messed me up at all, might want some other people's impressions of multiplayer though. I don't know if the network stuff is just leaderboards or everything or what.

Thanks you, if you say the game is great, that's all I need :D

[edit] Sorry for the double post.

I think you have to have a connection for leaderboards, clubs, challenges, and multiplayer, but the single player is good and will keep you busy until Evo irons everything out in 2018.

Oh, thanks for all the club invites everyone, but I am going super casual with some different guys.

I've been getting face offs easily even when leaderboards are spotty, but I'm not sure if that's an offline fallback or what. It LOOKS like they're other players with real PSN names though. I also haven't played too much recently, I bought way too many games this holiday.

Still not much luck getting into games with the ports being forwarded.
What is the spinning circle next to each player supposed to indicate? Would be nice if it indicated latency (maybe it is)

Which ports should I forward on my router for Driveclub?
You don't need to forward any port to play MP in DriveClub.
I know I could play some MP with my router not having UPnP Port Forwarding enabled.

Make sure you're not broadcasting your game, though, it seems to break the multiplayer.

Spent a few hours today on some challenges and solo events.

Really a much bigger fan of time attack events then races. AI brake testing mid corner narks me right off.

Spent ages on 2 challenges. One solo where my best time had been beaten by 0.030 on a 1:20.7 sec lap, didn't manage to string a lap together despite knowing I can go about 0.3 sec faster.

On another one I managed to whittle down to 1 sec slower on a 1:46 sec lap in the rain which I'm quite pleased with.

Looking to get a few 'larger' challenges going. Friend up EvolutionStudios on PSN for an invite.

Done diddly un.

Hey its early, I've not tried yet!

Heh. I think that's pretty much the best I can do on that particular track, and under those weather conditions. No way I could ever reach 1:33. I imagine I'll be a lot more down on the list when more people have participated in the challenge.

That feel when someone beats your best best time by 6/10ths then you pile a few in and beat his by 5/10ths. Boom!

That feel when someone beats your time by 1/10ths then you pile a few in and consistently f**k up in the last corner while you know you're faster. Boom......there flies the controller (making a soft landing on the couch btw)

Also working with this fix:

I had a blast with bananafactory this last week continuously winning back 2-5 seconds on top of the 2-5 he had succeeded beating me by.
There is the victory lap, by the way.

It was awesome and really opened my eyes to what challenges are all about. Every time I thought I couldn't beat your score it made me push myself to improve.

Except for the last one where I really couldn't beat it haha. Very nicely done :)

Game is currently $40 at Best Buy, and I've been aching to play a good racing game ever since I sold my 360 with Forza Horizon. I won't be getting an Xbox One any time soon, so playing Forza is out of the question for now.

I've been reading up on the game for the past week or so, and from what I've seen, there are plenty of mixed reviews. I've noticed some reviewers have given it poor scores due to the multiplayer being down at launch.

From the looks of it, it seems like everything is in working order. Plus the weather update is live, which really does look phenomenal.

What I'm really looking for is a decent racing game that doesn't require a huge amount of time to progress. I'd like to be able to pick up the game after work, play a few races and feel fulfilled. That's not to say I won't sink in a good amount of time into the game during the weekend.

None of my friends currently own the game, but 1-2 may get it if I end up purchasing it. There seems to be a lot of GAF clubs and what not, so I doubt I'd find myself without people to play.

Worth the buy?

Looking for 2-3 players for a new club, Gridlink DC, which is just starting and invite only. This is a casual* club, and we prefer to have people just starting out or at level 9 or under. PM me if interested.

*Casual in the sense that we are not playing for hours every day, and also in the sense that we would like to avoid people who talk/send a lot of shit. We are just looking to have fun in a no-stress club. Hell, I will probably be the worst driver in the club, but if not no worries.

Great, so it gets easier. lol

You cannot just hit the handbrake and drift, right? It has to be a combination of pressing and/or releasing brake/handbrake/throttle at various times?

Level 40 here, and still not getting it (although I've watched tutorials, read shit and brought the effing Spyker at level 5).
It just won't click with me, it seems.

Car control is key. Get good speed, hit the ebrake (might need to hold it briefly vs tapping), and use the brake (not ebrake) to control your drift. I'm still working on it myself but a friend of mine who posts great drift scores assures me you can link drifting to speeding sections without resorting to crashing. I'm slowly getting it but it's really tough and takes practice. Dedicated practice...

Edit: smallish movements on the steering wheel. This is my big problem, I jerk it too far and oversteer.
