DRIVECLUB |OT2| You Can't Rush Evolution

decided to leave the club I was in they had 6 and I was way ahead decided to grind my own club and play with the owner designs I had no access to but starting at level 1 again when I was level 15 kinda sucks but I guess leaving a club does not take Fame away from the old club to give to the new one
This reminds me of two questions about clubs:

1. If you join a club, do you automatically unlock everything that club has already unlocked?
2. If you leave a club, do you lose the club stuff that you unlocked?

Yes and yes. But afaik they think about changing that...for now you gain and lose everything with joining/leaving clubs.

This thread is so full of posts so I will just ask here.

I grabbed this today after getting tired of waiting for the ps+ version. Is there an advantage to joining a large club vs just making one for yourself? Are special cars or liveries unlocked with larger clubs?

Any GAF clubs want an old slow driver who will throw more quantity of races, rather than quality of races:) if so send me an invite HercRaato

Yes, there is. The club max-size is 6.
The more you have in your club the faster you unlock cars/ paintjobs. All club members contribute to the same club XP.

Clubs cap at 6 members so none are huge. Unlocks are gated by XP so activity is more important than size, 2 people playing a lot will unlock more faster than 6 players who only play for an hour a week.

More people in clubs should mean they will level up faster.
If you join an existing club, you inherit of all of its unlocked cars (and lose them when you'll leave it).
This may also be true with designs and other perks, I'd have to check.
Two people are required in a club to make it active, by the way, you can't be alone.

Wow only 6 members. Thanks for the quick reply. I just finished the intro race and the game is visually stunning.

Intro race is quite poor in comparison to some of the Chile and Norway tracks so you'll be in for some more delights!

It's about 5-6 tour events in that my jaw dropped the first time. I understand they picked an India track for the first thing because India is free for PS+, but it's a weak opening when it should have been one of the Chile or Scotland tracks. That Chile point to point where it gets progressively darker and it's a hill climb that culminates in fireworks at the finish line... incredible feeling.

Frustrating how leaderboard are still not updating correctly. I bested some GAF times last night... only to find out my connection to the server was dropped during the race, which resulted in my time not being recorded on the network.

Will it ever add back in to the leaderboards or is it just on your system?

yup lost all the unlock cars leaving the club

nice cars too but I think I can grind it all back in a few days

did not know about american cars coming lol or the Venom

No idea. I don't think it does, as my times from day to day do not update in the ladder.

It stays in the system. There was a moment they opened up the challenge section, you can scroll through the events you've completed, and choose one to challenge a group of friend or a club challenge.

It's not limited to tour events but single events (time trials, drifts, races times). It only goes back to 24 hours (a day) though

Well I hope that's not true. I thought one of mine poped in the next day. But there is also a few track times drone day 1 that never showed. Time will tell I guess.

I rarely have anything posted and I've done some absolute belters. This is my only main gripe that stops me fully appreciating the game.

Hyperbole at its best.

To believe for one second that a multi billion dollar car manufacturer who tests and tunes the aural outputs of their cars to perfection during development using equipment that costs an eyewatering amount of money would actually be even remotely impressed by the recordings of 2 or 3 guys from a game development studio is laughable.

http://m-power.com/_open/b/closedroom.jsp?lang=en&x=3165

Just read the lengths M Power sound designers go to to tune thier cars. More likely someone from BMW marketing thought it might be handy to have a copy of some of DCs mp3's incase they need to hurridly slap some audio over their next mobile marketing game

It's not hyperbole.

Unless you think Evolution Studios lying.

With the proper equipment one can easily accurately record audio from a car using a dynamometer at various RPM levels, and speeds up to 200mph in the right environment.

Fact number 38 and 41 in the list might you want to read for yourself.

Unless you honestly believe audio recordings from real life cars can't be accurately captured. Guess what, you will be surprised to know you don't need to be a billion dollar company to do this.

To me #40 is the most important for the realism, and why those crying about the cockpit sound should hush themselves :p

Most external engine noise wouldn't be heard inside a car usually because of sound dampening materials built around the chassis.

Hearing a car from inside of it is a lot different then external sounds. Things like the rattling on the cylinders, or the "pssht" when shifting one gear to the next.

However open cockpit cars like Formula vehicles or things like the BAC Mono or Ariel Atom don't have these luxuries.

Good post. But I have driven many of the cars that are listed in Driveclub and most of them whilst accurate in the bottom half of the rev range, start to sound synthetic and digital once you reach the higher part of the power band. Similar issue GT games have had since GT1.

Most of the issue is sound mixing as well. I have to turn up my receiver at ridiculous levels just to hear the cars.

The Ferrari 458 is pretty accurate and so the SLS mercedes but most of the cars are inconsistent.

not saying they sound bad, its a major improvement compared to GT5 but its far from perfect.

Pfff...
I just improved one of my time from 2:41 to 2:24.
Take a guess which time is still on the Leaderboards!

4:15 to 3:46, replaying the same track every day for 5 days now to see if its fixed and still MIA.

Yup, was hoping that it was just slow and maybe sync itself overnight or something like that but... Nothing.

And the worst part...

I LOVE THIS GAME. Nothing working beside Single player hurts me!

Yeah, me too. All those issues suck, but I'll stick with this game until its finally sorted out out, since the driving and track design is just so damn good.

Just did my first Hyper championship in Tour with the Pagani, that is some crazy shit. You always feel like you are on the brink of losing control holding on for dear life. Cockpit view in the hyper cars is awesome. Bac Mono cockpit view is also great.

Does anyone remember what camera angle the game defaults to the very very first time you booted it up? I think that would be an easy way to determine what evolution felt the most confident in.

Someone needs a chillpill!

I never said the in game sounds weren't accurate, i think they are quite good and the comment was directed at the dev quote not your analasys.

It is definitely dev Hyperbole "that BMW and Mercedes-Benz AMG requested copies to replace their existing library" miscontruing a fact to make it sound more important than it really is.....as i said, its probably spun out of a simple email request from some low level marketeer and Evo then made it out to be as if these companies had never heard recordings of their own cars like it and couldn't wait to throw away years of sceintific study and analasys into how their cars sound by replacing their own libraries

Unless you think Evolution Studios lying.

Lying...no, bullshitting...definitely!!

Next you'll be telling me that you really believe Evolutions facebook posts about Online working for the 'Majority', even though most people can't even get a time to update on a leaderboard!

Have attempted to get into a multiplayer match afew times now since picking this up sunday. disconnect every time.. for a game that was pushed hard from the get go as revolving around online connectivity, this is piss poor delivery.. can you imagine if they had released this at launch in this state ?, sony's lucky they delayed it or the shit storm this would of kicked up at launch would of been big.

Looking at the leaderboards on Holmastad Reverse to compare my time against the best and there is a Volkswagen Golf at 1:49. I did it in a Zonda and my best time is 2:32 and I never messed up, hit almost every apex perfectly and did the first section flat out. Gave it a go in the Golf and my time was 3:30, I need to see it because that has to be some bullshit. I doubt you could do that course in under 2 mins if you hit everything perfectly with the fastest car.

OOC have you driven a bac mono or the Ariel atom? Can you speak to their accuracy?

Or any cars if you have the time to post em. Would like to hear the comparison.

You do know what hyperbole is right? If evolution said the above, it would be a flat out lie if it hadn't occurred.
