Druckmann: New Project in work since 2020, up to Sony when to announce it.

Yes, we know that one of the multiple single player games that ND has under development start just after releasing TLOU2.

And yes, we know Sony gives them creative freedom.

The video doesn't provide new info.

P.S.: Even if not mentioned in that video, we also know ND started a second SP game around early 2023. We also know that none of these two games are TLOU3, meaning pretty likely are an Uncharted title, a new IP or a Marvel IP. Late 2023, after cancelling TLOU Online, they might have started a third SP game, TLOU3.

Where Are You Waiting GIF by This GIF Is Haunted

AAA nowadays take on average around 5-9 years. Sony in recent times prefers to announce the games very close to release, specially after what happened with TLOU Online.

Meaning, pretty likely will wait a year or two (or more) before announcing the next new ND game.

Nah. If he was close to completion they'd be showing it and promoting it.

This game is likely 9 years away with concord levels of failure so it'll explode in their faces again. Hence the waiting.

Bet it's an amazingly looking game that plays very safe with simple mechanics and a heavy focus on story.

Not my cup of tea so I'm hope I'm wrong tho.

My bet is that this ND game started in 2020 is the Uncharted spinoff mentioned by Bloomberg where Bend did work around 2021 after supporting TLOU Online and before moving to the new Bend IP.

Up to him to finish games in 4 years.

If it was close to being done Sony wouldve revealed it.
I was just about to @ you! lol.

From our conversation the other day, I'm guessing a lot of these games are probably a year or 2 out from release. Sony just hasn't seemed to be interested in announcing things too far out.

This will be another Ghost of Yotei situation.
Sony is really serious about showing games when they're almost done (the idea of Naughty Dog spoiling the biggest setpieces of their games years in advance to impress at an E3 conference now belongs to another era) and they have stated that starting from next year the floodgates will open on new big projects.

Will feature a strong female character and deal with themes that reflects our current social moment. You can skip to gameplay trailer now.

Well, maybe not new info, but I think at least we can suppose that this games is in late stage of development.

Just release factions. It'll be a million times better than Concord and Bungie can go fuck itself given how much they're under performing.
They already told why they droped factions. They dont want to leave some of the studio tied to supporting a GAAS for years. They rather have all staff woking on single player games. It just sucks that nowadays the simple idea of making a solid multiplayer game without turning into a GAAS is not viable anymore.

I hope whoever wrote that stupid fucking Lev subplot in TLoU2 was rolled down a cliff in a burning dumpster before this project started. I still cannot believe they couldn't find a less harebrained way to shoehorn in a trans character. At least TRY to make that painfully checkbox-y character make any sense.

I'm dreading the moment this is announced because of the Middle East conflict.

Radical liberals are going to be very suspicious of everything Druckmann makes going forward. The wokehamas crowd is salivating at the prospect of analysing with a magnifying glass whatever he makes and will be cancelling Druckman at first sight. You read it here first.

Druckmann to be the new Rowling whenever we have a first glimpse of his new project.

I think it is going to be medieval dark fantasy theme setting like Game of Throne. More grounded, nothing like the Witcher or any other games nowadays that involve magic.

They already got the melee combat system with stellar animation down, there is no point of switching to anything else entirely.

Of course it will share some similarity interm of hand to hand combat but that end there. With sword, Axe, Hammer and much more that they could expand. I think it will be a brutal and visceral combat game that set in a dark medieval fantasy world.

Remember when Jason Rubin was their director and they put out a groundbreaking game that moved the medium forward every year?

Remember when Amy Henning took over and they released a masterpiece Uncharted game every two years?

Remember when Druckman took over, 12 years ago now, and they've only managed to release three new games since then?

The excuse that "HD" games are harder to make doesn't cut it. The excuse that "budgets have gone up" doesn't make sense either.

This has been going on for a while already. I have read stuff like that on this board.

Remember when Druckmann was there for all of that including co-directing and writing with Amy Henning?
What is Jason Rubin doing now? '
What has Amy been doing for the last 14 years?

People are tired that Sony announce games far years before release... (The Last Guardian, TLOUp2, Days Gone)
Now since Sony don't reveal anything, people get still mad...
