Production design seem really different from traditional Dune look. I'm hoping it'll all make sense in the final product, but right now I don't dig the new worm at all.

Trailer was too boring to watch the whole thing...
I've never seen the original Dune. Was it also about kids ?

This is the movie I've been waiting for since word got out that Denis Villeneuve is making a Dune movie. Just pump that spice directly into my veins, baby!

The gender swapped Paul? How dare they!? /s Looks good. The book deserves LOTOR levels of treatment when it comes to the film adaptation.

Didn't care for the music. The singing is a mismatch with the visuals imho. :messenger_neutral: Visually its looks good but also somewhat tame. Was expecting more to be honest.

Excellent apart from that dog shit cover of Eclipse. Cinematography looks next level. Makes me wanna buy the book and binge it.

I think it looks ok I watched with sound off, but I'm not super interested in another look at Dune. I want Foundation, something we haven't seen before.

Would have enjoyed more colors and a more massive scale. An overall bigger and crazier vision, something closer to Jodorowsky's Dune. But I'm still curious and ready to be surprised.
And I love the logo.

I haven't read the books or seen the original but visually I'm interested and I thought Villeneuve did a good fucking job with Blade Runner.
I'm in. Give me the spice.

When they are fighting are those shields that are flashing?

lord commander EviLore EviLore 's book club 002 is dune this month!

Do we know how faithful an adaptation this movie is supposed to be? If I read the book won't it kind of spoil the movie? I'm game for reading it but wonder if it'd be wiser to wait until I've seen this.

I like that cover of Eclipse.

I read the book ~12 years ago, and I only remember parts and pieces, so it'll be interesting remembering it through this new adaptation.

Visually it looks stunning, but hopefully Villeneuve is able to maximize usage of all the A-list actors in this film and weave a cohesive storyline in a 2 hour movie.

Looks very dry visually. I miss the alien other-worldly flavour of the Lynch film, particularly the House Atreides scenes. Hmm.. the lead role looks a little uninspiring as well, lacks screen charisma.

Do we kow the runtime of the movie yet ? Or at least what they are aiming for, i know that the trailer is supposed to get pumped up but i hope we get some breathing room in there as the trailer was mostly action.

other than that, most of the teams seems to have done a decent job with the universe and the fidelity to the book from what i can see seems to be quite high

Lacks screen presence and about 50 pounds for me to take him seriously as a savior and leader of men.

I bet the movie will be fine but 3min is too much for a trailer... and it starts dragging

I meant more the kids comment, I barely saw any kids in it at all aside from the young adult main character whom I wouldn't call a kid really.

Looks a bit sterile and green screeny. Dont like the way the worms look as well.
This is one of my most wanted films, but i doubt i will like it as good as the orig film.

Welp, the worm looks like a demon's anus.

This is my main takeaway from this.

Expect much, much complaining from the woke crowd about how racist this story is.

Looks okay, I'm one of the few people who loved the original film so to me this adaptation has big shoes to fill.
Denis hasn't let me down yet so I'm hopeful
