Combat was bad in DA2 too. ANOTHER WAVE. There was a massive thread about all of the problems with DA2 recently. Combat was featured prominently.

I didn't mind the faster combat then (maybe I am alone in that), was far better than DA 1 in my opinion. The lack of landscapes is what drove me crazy. The waves of enemies can be fixed as well, but the combat was fine to me.
