That's good. While I think a new Pikmin game would be more exciting, an Animal Crossing sequel is more likely.
I'd welcome a Wii U Animal Crossing. Never played a game in the series before and it looks fun.
I'm hoping we'll see more of Devil's Third as well, including a release date. I was rewatching the E3 2014 trailer and was reminded how awesome it looks. Rough around the edges for sure, but it just looks like cheesy, mindless fun.

One of my firends just picked up a Metal Slime PS4 and I can attest they are gorgeous.
I'm debating selling off my launch PS4 to pick one up myself. Only thing that has kept me from doing so so far is because I think the Metal Gear console looks even more amazing so I'm waiting to snag that.

And while it wasn't as popular as Street Fighter II which had cumulative sales (factoring in various iterations) of 14+ million, Street Fighter IV (again, factoring in iterations) still has 8+ million sales, which is what most gaming companies would consider big.
Yeah, being on PC was a big part of it. But also the reason there wasn't as much outrage was because SFV was always revealed as a ps4 console exclusive and Sony's message on the matter was clear. Unlike Tomb Raider, which had no mention of exclusivity when first revealed at E3, preorders opened up at retailers for the ps4 version, then a few months later at gamescom it was announced that it is an exclusive to Xbox platforms with very unclear messaging from microsoft dodging the question as to whether it was permanent or timed.
Also, unlike SF V where the devs had kept on mentioning for years that they were waiting on funding to start development, Tomb Raider was already in development, and the way the exclusivity announcement came, it seemed like a late moneyhat from microsoft to keep the game off of other platforms rather than help with the development of the game.

Will Sony have a replacement for the holiday season now that Uncharted and Ratchet are delayed?
They won't have a major first party release, but there will be the Uncharted Collection and plenty of smaller games like Rime, Tearaway Unfolded and No Man's Sky. I think pushing third party games like Battlefront and MGS5 will be Sony's focus this winter.
What will the big show closers be?
MS - maybe a Gears 4 teaser.
Ubisoft - some bullshot nonsense
EA - probably a Mass Effect 4 teaser or gameplay trailer
Nintendo - new 2D Metroid for the 3DS
Sony - Horizon
Will Microsoft have another 3rd Party AAA moneyhat?

I would have thought it would be out in March to fill that Q1 gap. 2 years of development seems reasonable to me for this kind of game.

Depends on whether or not Atlus (Japan) gives a shit about E3 to reveal new info before their Persona 4 DAN Bluray special.
I'm sure Atlus USA would love having new P5 info to share, but they're probably under information control by the Japanese branch. As far as Atlus USA is concerned, they're still at Teaser Trailer #2, instead of having the #PV1 that Japan already shared months back.

HA! So true. Every year, will be better than last year.
- English version of PV01 uploaded to Atlus USA's channel and played at their booth = Very likely (meaning ESRB intro, English site/text outro).
- 2015 or 2016 release information = Definitely. If Atlus reconfirms 2015, it means P5 releases in Q4. If not, P5 releases in 2016.
- New footage/trailer = Unknown. It could go either way at this point. I don't think the P5 Blu-ray that comes out a week after E3 matters, but it depends on whether Atlus Japan wants to reveal anything at E3.

No but announcing a game with no platform just means getting asked repeatedly what platform it's coming for. If they're saving those games for NX, they should at least tell us what the NX is before showing us the games.

You raise a good point, but I feel Nintendo is stupid enough to do exactly like I predicted.
Paper Mario will certainly be a Wii U game (but hopefully it'll be more in line with the first 2 & not the later 2). The next 3D Mario could definitely be saved for the next console.
As for what the NX could be, based on Iwata's comments, it's probably an OS that will cover both the new console & portable.

I can see cross-platform releases (WiiU + NX), but skipping WiiU? I doubt it.
New 3DS exclusives are a bad idea, like DSi exclusives.
Again, not Paper Mario. If that's coming, it's most likely just for the Wii U. The next 3D Mario is probably gonna be one or the other, not both.
A Pikmin game (given that the n3DS can handle it from a technical standpoint) with its own line of Amiibos, perhaps? Pikmin 3's Stylus Mode proved that the n3DS could be a great place for a Pikmin game.

I for one, don't expect any NX-related announcements. I expect Nintendo to continue having a great wealth of first-party content for WiiU well till NX launch.
Paper Mario Wii U, Next Mario proper is NX title at launch.
A Pikmin style Dungeon crawler for the N3DS I could get behind.
Neither do I, hence why I don't think we'll hear about the next 3D Mario this year. They won't talk about the NX until next year. And given their patterns with releasing consoles, the NX likely won't be out until the year after its reveal (2017).
