EARWOLF |OT| Podcasts for Daddy

Not the best CBB ever. I'm not sure what Lauren was going for, but it really didn't get funny until the toilet stuff near the end of the second segment. Her mom/daughter stuff at the end was hilarious too. She's sooo damn good at this, but I worry Scott is not giving her enough room to breathe between episodes. I wonder if she just records her shows on the same day as CBB which is why she always gets called in....on top of her being incredible of course.

Glad to hear Weird Al is taking over on the TV show. I still haven't seen a Kid Cudi episode, but I imagine the first ten of those will be up on Netflix soon. I kind of can't think of a better bandleader for that show, unless they could have somehow gotten Paul Schaffer, but no one has that kind of money.

There's going to be a Mike Hanford AMA over on the Earwolf reddit next wednesday the 4th February at 4pm PST. Mike Hanford is of course a member of The Birthday Boys, he also writes on Comedy Bang Bang! The TV show and played one of my favourite characters ever on CBB! The podcast, Ducky Powell, the snowboarder who sang "What a thrashable Slope". He also played John Lennon on CBB. So get your questions ready if you have any https://www.reddit.com/r/Earwolf/comments/41ks1d/mike_hanford_ama_scheduled_for_wednesday_february/

Also, just thought I'd take this opportunity to open up the plug bag and say that the Earwolf subreddit is really good. It's a pretty small community of 7000 fans but it's very friendly, has good discussion threads for each podcast every week, and constantly has updates on anyone and everyone even vaguely associated with Earwolf. It's really more of an alt-comedy subreddit, the rules aren't too strict about it being just Earwolf stuff. They've also been getting these celebrity AMA's recently, With Matt Besser, Matt Gourley, Engineer Brett and more. It's a pretty rad place to talk about comedy on the internet, and there really isn't a lot of good places to do that.

r/earwolf already paying off by pointing me to this excellent HH soundboard

very big of Gethard to come clean about everything he—I mean Josh Franklin—did during the filming of Big Lake. hope Hayes used that emergency contact info
Yes. Listened via Pocket Casts on Android.

so I'm not alone! maybe it was a problem with the dl early in the day that was fixed soon after, I grabbed it pretty early in the morning

I was wondering why the Staind Glass of UTU2TM popped up on the front page of Earwolf, This American Life included in their latest episode. It was weird listening Ira Glass describing the (supposed) premise of the podcast and hearing Scott fucking with Todd Glass right after a story about how a teacher was having a nervous breakdown about how she felt like she mistreated a student of hers.

I haven't listened yet and the description looks funny...I'm still itching for Hayes to get done with whatever hbo thing he's doing in NYC. as great as some of these episodes apart have been nothing beats the two of them being in the same room

CBB yesterday was good, Tarver and Gaul were funny (loved the "Johntrain" stuff and the idea that they make things up and just hope they're exist and are popular), Bee was enjoyable. Though, while it normally doesn't bother me when guests don't promote or explain their shows much, I kinda wanted to get an idea of what Full Frontal will be and this only made me more confused haha.

He's working on the new Danny McBride Vice Principals show. Should be amazing.

You should listen to HH. :)

Whats up with the Howl premium Jemaine Clement Shows? Seems like it may be canned?

I was thinking of finally doing my month trial because I have some heavy travel this week, but the doesn't seem to be much added to premium that I have any interest in. Maybe Lauren Lapkus' sow about the supernatural?

I don't know what's going on with Howl. New shows have slowed down dramatically, and all the archives are still free for everyone, they haven't even edited out the ads on the Howl versions. It's a bit weird.

If you're looking for suggestions, I heard that the Superego Howl podcast is really good. They pick a novel none of them have read, read the first and last line and the character list, and then try and improvise the entire plot to the novel. The Wild Horses podcasts are meant to be good too, and they have the live CBB! episodes.

Yeah I have no idea what's going on with that. Lauren's show is not very good. Love her but I'm not sure what we were supposed to get out of that.

The Complete Woman is the best thing on Howl I've listened to.

Today's CBB was hilarious. Gillie is always so much fun and Rust continues to be one of my favorites.

Last week's i4h was god tier. So many unbelievably good bits. I was dying.

Great CBB. great Handbook so far too. fascinating hypothetical question about what if you're interested in something between you and your co-worker at the sort-of-job you work where you don't get payed but other people get payed for the same thing you do, but making a move might invoke the wrath of someone who knows about the Matrix and is preparing to fight an opponent who just goes wild and spins a lot

harris died a year ago today. farts and pro marathon today wooo

Hard to believe it's been a year. It surprises me just how often I'll think of something Harris said in my day to day life. I still miss him.

On another note, Kulap did an ama on the Earwolf reddit. There's some really nice answers about her relationship with Scott, her new comedy show, and of course some Who Charted questions for the folks who listen to that! https://www.reddit.com/r/Earwolf/comments/46gt27/iam_kulap_here_at_4pmpt_to_hear_questions_about/

it surprises me just how much his death affected me. i'd heard him on a few podcasts but wasn't too familiar with him but after his death i really delved into his stuff and listened to the YMIW episode he did and it just hurt, man.

After being a big GiantBomb fan and having to deal with the loss of Ryan Davis after listening to him for 3+ hours every week for a few years sorta prepared me for what it feels like when a "celebrity" that you follow so closely passes. There's something so intimate about having people talk as themselves into your headphones on a podcast too, you form a real connection with them. It helps that Harris was such an open, warm person as well. I'd been a big fan of his podcast appearances before he died, I was actually watching the video podcast of him on Who Charted the night before it happened, and had just got done binging Analyse Phish. It really hurt when he died, and it's only afterwards that you look back on all the insanely funny stuff he's said throughout the years, or watch Master of None and pick out the bits that were so obviously Harris, that you truly appreciate everything that he gave us.

Bajillion Dollar Propertie$ first episode is on Seeso. It's okay...

But I had no idea Drew Tarver was so adorable. Omg <3

EDIT: Also a ton of Comedy Bang Bang / UCB people are on Love on Netflix. Basically all of Paul Rust's friends on the show are from UCB. Also made me sad to see Neil Campbell (briefly) in the show because I know Harris would have been in it too. :(

yea, Rust+Cassady jamming without Harris there is somber.

Good show 5 eps in though. Any fans of Claudia O'Doherty on CBB who aren't watching should get on it, she has a sizable and hilarious role.

When Mickey is looking through Gus' Instagram, there is a picture of him and Harris :(

Yeah, I noticed Mike Hanford and Armen Weitzman in the background with Paul's friends. There's a whole bunch of comedians who pop up in guest spots too, like Ian Roberts and Will Sasso in episode 5.

I really enjoyed Love. I expected to because I love a lot of the people on it but I certainly didn't expect to binge it like I did.

Finally listened to Solo Bolo Trolo and it was everything I wanted it to be. Ben and Scott need their own podcast, I could listen to them do dumb bits for hours.
