We are almost there GAF. Only 5 weeks that'll just fly by.

How are you holding up? Have you made any plans for release day? Maybe already taken some days off work like a good tarnished? Or maybe you are a filthy neet and just ready to dive in?

More importantly, have you decided how you'll play the game? What's your platform of choice? Will you do a blind/offline playthrough the first time, or fully embrace the online component from the get go? Do you have your build already planned? Or will you improvise along the way?

And if you don't care about this at all... Dude why?

Got the pre-order for like £35 on CDKeys. Will just finish work and start playing. PC, totally blind, come what may.

Might skip the Horizon 2 launch so I'm not trying to cram it into a week.

Not taking days off for games this year (even though it's the biggest year for games in a while), did that too much last year and got too much IRL stuff planned already.

Day one for me, and I'm not even a huge fan of the formula / genre

After sleeping on the souls games for years I've fallen in love with them. Recently completed ds1 remastered, ds3 and the dlc (tho I needed summons to get thru a few like dancer and nameless king), and now going back and forth between DS2 and sekiro. Just something about them that's really clicked.
I wish I could play demons souls remake and Bloodborne but I'm on Xbox right now.
I'm gonna buy elden ring but waiting for Microsoft rewards app to offer the points.
I'm gonna play it like I play the souls games-strength build with a greatsword. As close to guts as possible.

I don't care for the game.
Demon's Souls to me is one of the best games of all time. Masterpiece.
When i tried Dark Souls 1 and 2 i was disappointed. I did not feel the same feeling i had when i was playing Demon's Souls.
To me the best FROM game is always going to be Demon's Souls. I feel they are never going to create a masterpiece in the same level of it.

Day 1 with steelbook from Best Buy.

Playing through Soulsborne games day one with the community is its own experience.

For me, I'll be there day 1 same as with every From game I've been able to. No days taken off work, although that may change during the next few weeks.

I'll go blind, and probably do my first playthrough offline, since I don't like summoning/invasions and also prefer to not have tips. I'll probably go the "dude with sword and shield" build I've always enjoyed so much, although I don't know if I'll put my points into STR or DEX.

Can't fucking wait. I just hope the world feels like a world and not an Ubisoft theme park, but for the little I played of the network test it seems I'll be happy with the final product.

What did you missed? I think Dark Souls is fantastic, probably best world design in the series if you ask me.

Day one only cause I didn't get Sekiro for so long cause gameplay videos didn't look interesting. Eventually bought it and loved it. Same is going on for me with Elden Ring. Game looks boring af from what I've watched. Fool myself once shame on me.

I'm day 1. Just struggling with PC or either XSX or PS5. I know many say PC, but since I got my rig at a lofty price I've found many games to be exactly the same as especially the new consoles, or in some cases worse. It's definitely just an optimization thing, but nevertheless I may have to wait to see some comparisons.

First FROM game I won't buy at launch since Demon Souls.
Not because I'm not hyped, but because I don't want to play it on Ps4. Will probably hold off until I can get a next gen system.

So, I've been layed off because of lockdown so I might have to get this a bit later unfortunetly. But I'm insanely hyped. Finishing DS3. Then will take a break and play something else until I get Elden Ring. I think the exploration is going to be a lot of fun.

I hope it's not like every dark souls where you just put all points in end, life and str and proceed to stunlock everything with a big fucking great hammer or ultra greatsword

I'm not buying it day 1 because I always like to play games after they patch the innevitable bugs, but after 3 months...

Just not sure if I want ps5 or steam version yet
I'm was in the same boat (Series X version) until I saw the performance on consoles during the beta. We'll have to see if they ironed that out but PC seems like the best option.

How did it ran in the newest systems? Kinda worried about the PC optimization too, since From aren't specially tech wizards and this is their first open world.

Day 1. Got the launch edition pre-ordered. Elden Ring is going to be huge and probably the only thing I'll play for the next couple of years. It's already Game of the generation. Miyazaki and From can't fail.

Not as well as you would think, which surprised me. FROM isn't known for their technical ability but I expected much better from a cross gen title. Check out the DF video.

Aw shit, 45fps is bad. Hopefully they have had enough time to iron out those drops for the console buddies.

I'll go PC, hopefully my 3070 is enough for stable 60fps, which IMO it really should but yeah... with bad optimizations you just never know.

I'm not interested, not yet anyway. Looking forward to picking it up on whatever steam sale it lands afterwards. The Last few months especially have completely jaded me to hype, not specifically towards this game, but to pretty much every release.

I pre-ordered the CE but I'm not really hyped for it. I know how that sounds, but I already know my razor-thin patience won't allow me to keep playing past the first boss, and I'll put it away in rage never to play it again. Typical FromSoft experience.

This is probably the last game I buy from them.

Not getting it day 1, but will try it at some point. I'm not good at these games, but I keep getting pulled in for some reason.

Pre-ordered it like many others from CDkeys, it was a steal at 42% off.
I have seen few trailers and I avoid discussion on it. From the little I've seen, my only gripe is how much they trivialized vertical travel in the game. I really enjoy the climbing & exploring in BotW.

It was a beta, I'd expect both PS5 and series x to run better at launch. And shit, if you can't run it on a 3070 I shouldn't even try on my 2080ti lol

I played the first Dark Souls years ago and just couldn't get into it. The Elden Ring hype makes me want to give the From games another try though.

Let me take this opportunity to remind everyone about the thread I made explaining all key multiplayer / shared world mechanics for launch.

And also (tl:dr) why it's a fun idea for those of us who choose to play online to set up a shared group password.

Day one. Elden Ring and S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 are the only releases i plan on getting this year, and with S.T.A.L.K.E.R. delayed i'm betting on Elden Ring to keep me occupied for a while.

Any word on some type of strategy guide?

FuturePress has been completely silent and I can't find anything from any other publisher. It would be a real shame if it didn't have a nice, hardback guide to go with it on launch day.
