Elden Ring Nightreign launches with 313,593 CCU on Steam

Now imagine if it had duos. Long time fan but heard that solo is really unbalanced and we dont have a third person so we're waiting for duos. At least two full priced sales lost right from me and my brother.

You got all of this from a stream? Without playing? Boy...we are full blown analysts now, we dont even need to try games. Could not be further from the truth, the gameplay loop is phenomenal.
You have reviewers who've spent 60h+ in the game telling the same thing, and you're gonna tell me that i must buy the game to acknowlege the obvious?

Is this cross play between ps5 and Xbox? And if so can you from a party and chat? I don't play much console multi-player and my boys are on Xbox. I guess I could get it on pc if it works better that way.

Wonder if they can fix some of the problems later like pacing or variety. Game needs to be slowed down a bit, need duo modes, better balance for duo and solo, lot more variety between runs.

Great question, I would be tempted to pick this up if I can co op across all platforms.

Reviewers with from soft games should not be trusted, they are all casual gamers. I mean, game is def not a 7. Maybe streamers can tell you a little bit more

The question is rather how many of those have expected a good solo experience and run completely into the wall and how high the refund figures will be.

No crossplay and no in game voice chat.

You can only mark things on the map and do emotes.

I think most of the issues stem from the fact that the multiplayer experience is barebones at best, no solo-queue or duo options and no voice chat either.

Is there even a ping system at least?
I don't think there's a ping system for items and stuff unfortunately. But there is for locations. Which is probably more useful.

Beat the first nightlord with two randos last night that were pinging all the locations to run to and kill mini bosses for more souls and upgrades. It was really helpful, I know folks have talked about wishing it had comms, but it really isn't necessary.

you can play solo in the game
You keep saying this, we know, but the point is it's not designed to be played this way, and from what we can gather it's not a good experience solo. It's still not for the vast majority of From fans who are disappointed in the direction they've taken with this, and nothing will change that.

only fair-weather fans disappointed, true From Soft fans support this game no matter what

Elden Ring in the name, gaf shocked its pulling those numbers as if that means QUALITY. Lmao game is at mixed and dropping. At this point they can make a turd add Elden Ring to its name and it would still get sales and players because most people are sheep who flock to anything popular. At least it was priced decently, they could've been major asshle and milked the brainless even more.

What the fuck does this even mean?

From Soft gave us 7 great games plus tons of DLC in the last 15 years, redefined dark fantasy RPG, resurrected action RPG genre, they've done a lot for the industry.......and one time they made multiplayer focus game, and you all bailed like whining spoiled babies, that's what fair-weathered fans mean

What? They can make whatever they want but I don't HAVE TO like it or appreciate it.

This game looks like a quick cash grab forced by Namco.

Assuming there is no "end game"

Like you just endlessly fight bosses with no end ever?

Day 1 fight scrubs for 20 mins
Day 2 fight scrubs for 20 mins
Day 3 fight boss

rinse and repeat with no end goal?

Wouldnt say that, it's people like myself who launched FromSoft into super stars

I am NOT a multiplayer fan, no need for me to give them more money if they start making games that I do not like.

A majority of fans are new anyhow, they was not supporting from in 2009 or 2011 when they made their first Souls games. I am the OG and I should not be obligated to toss them $40 for a game that does not suit me

Their next single player game, I will buy day one. Simple.

So if "us all" fair weathered fans are bailing, does that imply fromsoft is doing bad?

I'm still on the fence about this one btw, might still buy it somewhere in the future. I just don't get this blind "support" for a company. It's just a fucking company. They didn't give us anything. We paid for it. Nor do I get this blind hatred for anything you don't like. Is having an extreme opinion about everything just the result of how the internet works and revolves around attention?

I also read if you are not some Elden Ring hardcore who has put hundreds if not more hours into it, you will get wrecked in this one.

Can't imagine someone who has never tried a souls game and due to hype buys it, they will be in for not a good time. This game expects you to know everything there is to know on Elden Ring it seems. Also even if 1 of your trio sucks, that basically will end a run. Also forget Solo

I think that this game is not for players who want to try Souls games… Is pretty obvious.

You and I know that, but someone who always wanted to try Elden Ring, or Souls, see's this at a good price and pops in and throws them off entirely from the whole genre.
There's plenty of reviews around, if someone buys the game without any information, i think is his fault if the game doesn't like it.

Pretty much. There's no meta progression. New bosses and characters will be added as DLC. 🤷

Brand recognition and prior game reception effect. If the last game was a hit, people will buy the sequel even if it's shit, they need to personally get burned to learn their lesson. Conversely we see if the previous game was shit, even an excellent sequel will under perform.

And that takes what, few hours at most?
Am not playing the game, so not best person to answer this.

But each character has progression, you level them up so each consecutive run becomes easier. Which means average player will finish at higher levels.

Doesn't feel like a small game one can finish in a weekend.

lol no.. its a survival rogue like. you have to be careful and build up your player by surviving the day until you are strong enough to take on a boss. There are many mini bosses. It should take along time unless you get really good.
