Elden Ring early hype check

This has been easier since COVID dropped since I don't do many vacations lately, but I scheduled a few days off of work when this drops to just enjoy it.

The Souls formula is a known quantity. I'm expecting almost no surprises, so I'm not hyped at all. But it'll be a high quality game worth playing for sure.

I think I'll probably end up pre-ordering it soon.
 
I'm trying to decide between PC (3080) and my PS5. I have bloodborne and demons souls on PlayStation, but the DS and sekiro series on PC.

I would imagine locking the resolution will be the only real benefit on PC, but part of me wants all of them on the PlayStation ecosystem.

Network test ran between 45 and 60 fps on the PS5. If you aren't going PC, make sure to wait for a performance analysis.
 
Not really hyped. Will play it Day One, but I see no reason to be hyped for it.

I mean, it's basically Dark Souls 4, everyone knows what to expect of it.
 
Hype is low because I've mostly avoided looking at anything for this game or even thinking about it. I saw probably less than 5 minutes of the gameplay that dropped awhile back. I will still be there day 1 and I know it's going to be incredible.
 
Yup, Elden Ring and GT7 will be my day 1 games for the year so far.

Will pre-order 1 week before release cuz pre-orders here are cheaper 15% compared to launch day price.

Day 1 PC. No pre-order cuz...well I just don't do that anymore. But still, very excited. I brought myself a handicap. A friend who I dragged through Dark Souls 3. Proud of the lil guy for sticking with it though he wanted to quit anytime there was a section he had to do alone. We'll be playing this through blind together. Should be a hair-tearing-out experience.

I bought Sekiro during a Christmas sale and have been playing it in anticipation of Elden Ring. I hope the boss fights are easier than Sekiro.

It is not even hype at this point. Whenever I see Elden Ring, hear people talk about Elden Ring, or think about Elden Ring, I get harder than a shounen protagonist's plot armor. Taking work off for this. Turning my phone off. Hoping on discord with the boys to charge our j-crystals while we watch the opening cinematic together. I am not any of those normie-sexuals. I am a Miyazaki-sexual.

Already payed for it on pc, last week i started bashing my balls with a mace and some light nipples electrocution to get used for when the game is gonna release.

Just Platinum'd Sekiro - one of the greatest games seriously

From Software are just kings in Story telling
 
Already got my preorder from CDKeys for 30 bucks and change.
Especially after the "network test" this is one of these purchases I can go in with full confidence I will spend an unhealthy amount of hours on.

Going by past FromSoftware releases, it'll probably capped at 60 FPS and not support ultrawide so I may wait on it. I don't think I care about it enough to buy it on PS5.

Dude i'm almost sure that majority of people never even noticed the "crazy spin" in bloodborne, story was the usual obscure stuff and passing from werewolves and monsters to japanese tentacle porn was just miyazaki going crazy with the monster design for the majority of people...

I had to watch the usual vatyvidya recap to even understand what the fucking spin even was :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

Well, even if I kinda catched that spin, I still missed like 80% of what the fuck was going on, so I know the feel. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

I wonder if Elden Ring will go the batshit crazy route, or settle for something a bit more comprehensible.
 
Preorder already. I usually don't play Day one game but Fromsoft are the only one that can make me preorder and play Day one.

I am now rediscovering Sekiro after a disappointment on release. I am now fully enjoying it and it gets me even more hyped for Elden Ring.
 
February was already going to be a good month for me with Lost Ark releasing but now I'm gonna have to make time for Elden Ring too. Can't wait!
