I didn’t realize Radagon is immune to bleed… so now I barely tickle this fucking asshole.

Gotta find a high dex/arcane weapon to build up for him that isn’t bleed.

Can I just go to change my ash of war element as many times as I want? If so I will just swap the backhand blades to frost.
He's weak to fire if that helps you at all. Flaming strike ash of war would prob work good with backhand blades. But yeah you can change ash of wars freely.

Promised Consort Radahn is not weak to fire.
He is only weak to holy, but even that is only during the first phase.
He is strong against everything, except pierce damage, during both phases.

I stumbled upon a forge for the first time just wandering around after being stumped by the final boss for the 100th time.

Walked in, saw the enemies, fought a couple and though "yeah, no. I'm done". That dungeon was legit the moment I realized I was done with Elden Ring.

I almost fell for this too. Re-read who we are talking about.

Radagon, Radahn, Ranni, Renna, Rennala, Rellana, Rykard

Slowly working my way through the DLC. Take out a boss or two every day or so. Loving it with no rush to finish.

DLC inspired me to start a new character and go through without summons. Just wrapped up Starscourge Radahn and I'm off to Mt Gelmir.

Doing an arcane faith build, which is new to me. Trying to recapture the regal glory of the greatest FromSoft build ever, the DS2 hex caster.

Going through Siofra River and Nokron is straight up like playing DS2 2.

best weapon in base game and dlc
Tried Fire knight greatsword? you'll probably love it. I've been using it like half the time on my 2nd dlc playthrough and it's just great. Colossal sword just like zwei and same/similar R2 poke and faster R1.

edit : i just realized where you are so you likely don't have access to getting it just yet. but def recommend trying to get it.

I haven't tried any of the DLC weapons because there are just so many of them, and it's hard to know if they'll compete with my +10 Bloodhound's Fang without sinking a bunch of upgrade materials & time into them.

If I've been using Bloodhound's Fang for 100 hours, is there a weapon in SotE that I might like and can do comparable damage?

Can’t beat final boss?

Just succumb to respec, summon, or mimic. You can also learn to parry him with the new parry tear. Phase one becomes a joke if you parry it all.

I’m back to the final boss with my raduvia or backhand blade bleed build. One or the other weapon has carried me for certain encounters.

Sounds like Occult is the way you want to go. It's the straight physical arcane type.

You can switch as much as you like, no penalties or losses whatsoever. Experiment as much as you like

Occult did the trick. I never realized my first play through phase 2 you can use torrent for Elden beast… made the boss stupid easy.

Because they recently update that, you originally couldn't use Torrent in Elden Beast boss.

Ok haha. Good update. Having to chase him around is a nightmare without torrent.
Its update I can agree on. I never found Elden Beast all that hard, Radegon was much tougher in my opinion but I find it annoying chasing Elden Beast around on foot.

You should’ve seen me perfect my Radagon last night. Come into Elden beast with 13 flasks and only had to use one from Radagon.

He was a much more appropriate and fair fight akin to DS3 or Ringed City final boss.

Malenia I beat this go around due to an absolutely lucky run where she didn’t get to use even one dance.

I was tempted to do the dlc again but the idea of Consort solo again is ugh.

I’ll stick to playing WoW until the new expansion.

I'm impressed over the spirit ash buffs. Like no one notice they were basically garbage besides a very few ones, like mimic. Sometimes I used to summon some low tier ones and they couldn't even put a proper fight with low class enemies, let alone do something. I honestly don't trust much this new fix team as my base game still not fine as used to be.

sweet buff for overhead stance , the great katana needed that
They should've added stance damage increase also and not just added damage. As it stands, unsheathe with a normal katana somehow results in more stance damage than overhead stance with great katana. Not sure how that makes sense. Getting there though lol.

Getting double runes (thanks antwix) randomly for all enemies and bosses. I haven't used any items is this some sort of glitch? Or does this happen when you level up a certain amount? On NG+1 Just beat
finger boss in finger birthing grounds
and got 840000 exp or 800000 for

Strange. To be honest I not much into that area of the DLC because is annoying as fuck, but I can check if there is really some area like that.

If I would guess, maybe the same eye of sauron madness near at some tower, just like in the base game near to the madness town.

I don’t recall exactly where it is but there is a “hidden” tower just past a small village. It’s up a hill and past a bunch of madness enemies.

Took me forever to find it and put an end to the madness

I thought I explored all of that area, but you're saying there's somewhere that is like the base game where you suffer madness build up? I wasn't getting any madness while exploring, so I need to load that save again?

Where is this place? Could you post map location please?

He's talking about the tower near the Frenzied Flame Village in Liurnia. So, in the base game.

Sonic might be right that it’s in the base game.

I tried to google the location in Shadow of Erdtree but everything came back base game.

Base game I remember going up a hill with a bunch of madness rats until you got to the tower.

My memory of this encounter was from a bonfire, there is a small village with dogs and “shadow” enemies. There are roughly 6 total burned out homes. Make your way through the town then head up a hill that isn’t very wide. At the top of that hill there are three towers that you can’t get into but there are goodies on their walkways. The furthest tower has the madness guy.

I remember this place because I died several times before I found the madness tower way in the back.

I don’t remember where this is but now I must investigate.

Only place I can think of is the place in Liurnia. Where you get one of the madness cookbooks. There's a tower as well as a village with homes in it. No shadow enemies here though.

Speaking of towers, I wish that tall tower in the "center" of the DLC operated the same as the monument in Majula from Dark Souls 2 where it showed how many deaths worldwide there are currently. Useless information but cool nonetheless.

I must be wrong and I’m thinking of the base game. I searched google hard and nothing and everyone here says the same.

I’m going to check out the base game tower now and if I still think there is another one then I’ll find the bastard and post the location.

Finished a second playthrough of the expansion with my OG int-dex build from 2022. I can relate to the complaints about not enough new weapons with int scaling... BUT the Star-lined Sword and its AoW are awesome. The only thing that would have made it better is if it was light greatsword instead of a katana.

Bosses are still tough, but I enjoyed them much more this time around since I was already familiar with the movesets. I've thought about the controversy surrounding their difficulty a bit more, and I have a theory. They usually enforce a specific playstyle, so it can come across as actively discouraging build variety. The base game has this issue to an extent, but they really doubled-down on this approach to boss design in the expansion. I think the reason why I personally enjoyed them was because using the Deflect Hard-Tear turns it something reminiscent of Sekiro. Ironically, this also trivializes some encounters, which makes me think these bosses were tuned with this playstyle in mind.

I must be wrong and I’m thinking of the base game. I searched google hard and nothing and everyone here says the same.

I’m going to check out the base game tower now and if I still think there is another one then I’ll find the bastard and post the location.

Everyone was correct and I was mistaken.

I went to the madness tower in base game and that’s it. I think I entered the area from a different way than I’m used to and that must have confused me.
