Everybody's Golf: Hot Shots |OT| Par Deux

I had only played the US version of World Invitational/Everybody's Golf 6 on PS3/Vita, because I didn't think I had a reason to import a Japanese version.

Today I learned this isn't the first time Pac-man has appeared in the series. He was in World Invitational, but only in Japan! 😥 not only that, but they also got Kiryu from Like a Dragon! :pie_anguish:

Hearing that some of performance is shaky on PS5, makes me a little worried about how the Switch version is gonna perform. Just need it to have good timing on the hits.

Otherwise, it looks great. It's that return of minna no golf I've been waiting for since the 6th entry on ps3/vita.

This guy complaining in the review about all the unlocking you gotta do, meh. That's one of the things I just enjoy doing in these games. I'm not trying to burn through it all fast. It gives me something to keep going back to for a long time.
Yep... that gives me hope. A lot of these reviewers only played the ps4 entry, which I thought was crap. As someone who played the psp , ps2 and ps3/vita games I: was disapponted with the mmo nature of eg ps4. It felt very barebones. I gave up on it. I love unlocking stuff, without having to pay coins or money. Can't wait.

PSP versions are my favorites.

Looks decent but still overpriced at $40 for what it is. I'll probably pick it up on sale sometime. Golf games are strangly fun, especially in VR on the Meta 3, too bad this isn't in VR as it stands no chance now. It'll be fun for when I can't be bothered to go into VR.

Is the ps5 frame rate/pacing bad on ps5 as push square and other reviewers seem to indicate

A game all about timing not having steady/solid fps seems really bad

Dad also said Clap Hanz developed every previous entry which is incorrect and where I tuned out.

I hear you but, come on. It was *almost* all of them. At this point, CH is this franchise.

But - one of my favorites of all time. I grew to love Everybody's Golf. I like the frame work but agree the characters really suffered and the courses. But I also loved hanging out in the online hub with friends.

But for this, I have very little faith. The change in developer worries me, and an unproven one at that. I think the characters look almost as generic as the last game which makes no sense given the renewed single player focus. I've read multiple reviews today that talk about generative AI for a lot of the assets and course design.

Idk - I'm buying because it's EG. But I've never been less hyped for a new entry.

It just shows it was a lazy video from a sloppy creator and not worth watching.

I'm in the same boat, I'll buy it because I love the franchise and because it's is somewhat inexpensive. I'm not expecting much. I did the same thing with Clap Hanz post-Everybody's Golf efforts, but those titles were really disappointing.

Watching the Kinda Funny (barf) stream from today. Everything just looks so cheap. The animations are so floaty, zero punch. The courses are insanely bland. Visually it just looks like a Switch 1 title (which I know it is) running on PS5. No polish at all. It really does just look like AI generated a new HSG game.

Looks like a return to form for the series. Happy that it's back and multiplatform. Pre-ordered weeks ago.
Multi-platform but without Xbox. Developed by HYDE and published by Bandai Namco. To paraphrase Phil Spencer, whom did it help by not having this on xbox?

Just pre-ordered on PC through Loaded.com (Formerly CDKeys.com) - no key until tomorrow though.

I loved this on Playstation. WISH there was an iOS version for playing on a plane. I refuse to give Nintendo money at the moment.

These games always had a 'shooting-UX' flow completely separate from the rest of the game (sometimes even at double framerate of the rest of the game) - I doubt frame-pacing in regular gameplay has an impact on the hit-meter timings at all.

Have they made the entire game 60fps now ? I didn't like the PS4 game so can't remember if that was still like the PS3 games. 60fps whilst taking your shot, and then it switches to 30 for the ball following.

PS4 version ran at 60fps. Might have only been on PS4 Pro though. I don't remember.

This doesn't look great to be honest. I would have paid full price to have the PS3 version upgraded to 60fps and 4k.

Switch performance

Seems fine until the fog rolls in near the end of the video. It was near 30 at most times during actual golfing. Sure it dropped in some fancy animation dance and during a loading screen, but who cares, that doesn't impact gameplay and you probably wouldn't even notice, unless you count pixels. For a handheld this is fine.

The switch 2 also should get a bump. I wonder what the difference is with turning on and off dynamic resolution. What is the base resolution if you turn it off? The switch 2 should be better with either setting.

I want if for portable play for switch 2 but the £44.99 price compared to the £26.19 pc version from loaded.com is making me cry. I think it may be steam play for me now.

I wonder how long before we see Jin or Kazuya characters. Has to be a given, surely.

Clap Hanz Golf released on IOS a few years back. Same core gameplay, but I wouldn't be surprised if it has a lot of micro-transaction bollocks seeing as it is a mobile offering.

Failing that. PSP emulation maybe ?

There aren't any micro-transactions for the title on iOS, but it was an apple arcade game so that subscription is needed to play.

Easy come easy golf is also on the switch. They took out all the micros and you get new outfits, or character variations from match battles as well as new characters for beating the bosses. There is like 12 courses and also a world invitational mode where people in Japan are always top of the leader boards (like how they getting that good? Probably hackers) .

Whelp apparently no iap on ios either " Easy Come Easy Golf on iOS has no In-App Purchases (IAPs) because it is a game available through Apple Arcade." I come from a Galaxy world far far away from the small Apple , so I didn't even know this arcade subscription existed. (bet they don't have older delisted mobile games on it though)

Easy come easy golf isn't the same as hotshots even though its from Claphandz. You form a team of golfers that level up as you play. You can't play the full 9 holes with the same golfer, you have a team of 9 (and more you flip in the roster and out). There is no custom balls, clubs , shoes, pants, etc... Only new full outfit or color swap, and new characters.

The game is fine but it seems very barebones, even in controls as it doesn't offer as many options. You can tell this is from the mobile games realm and its only $20 on the switch.
I enjoy it, but am ready for a real hot shots.

Just a few holes in, but it feels like old school Hot Shots Golf…in a good way.

I'm on PC and the characters looked low res in the menus (lot of jaggies), but it looks crisp in gameplay. No big deal. I was worried there for a minute 😅

Plays great!
