It was actually very enjoyable and the CG was surprisingly good for the most part, but they kind of screwed the final act.

They opted to scrap all of the practical effects for CGI, which didn't go over well with fans of the original and failed to impress newcomers, so the effects studio made their own "The Thing" movie using the practical effects that were scrapped.

My curiosity is piqued for this one.

But fuck, the atmosphere in that game. It's so oppressive and dark. It really feels like you're alone in a deserted Martian research facility while literal demons are on the loose. I love it.
