Ghost Song is coming along well. Errbody seems to think it's coming together.

I have a lot of game ideas too. Being committed to one for a very long time is scary though so I'll be sure to choose very carefully next time.

Less hordes of enemies to mow down. More black knight equivalents.

but that would require someone programming non-bullet spongey actually intelligent enemy AI and I guess that is too hard.

and because of this I stay far away from the FPS genre as it is right now

FPS is also inferior gameplay-wise because a flat screen lacks the ability to represent peripheral vision and subtle eye movements. Ironically the third person perspective better represents a realistic sense of spatial awareness.

I've been meaning to play the co-op Don't Starve with a friend for awhile now.

That's a pretty good combo.

I'm also desperate for someone to design a really great competitive same screen puzzle game to fill the hole that puzzle fighter 2 left in my life.

might and magic clash of heroes filled that for a little while and then there is this game called Tumblestone that is slated to come out this year that is promising.

but still, nothing has really scratched that puzzle fighter 2 itch

I like when FPS function as if you are actually seeing out of the eyes of person you are controlling. Mirrors Edge did this well. I also like the precision of FPS aiming.

But overall, I do agree with your points and I think third person perspective is better overall.

My favorite and under-utilized view mode is what games like Deus-Ex Human Revolution and Rainbow Six Vegas did where it is almost a hybrid of First and Third.

Otogi is like one of the most underrated Xbox games!

The level of destruction, the flow of the combat, the set pieces and basically everything it did felt unique. The only thing holding it up was the performance which considering all the things doing back then shouldnt have been surprising but at least it was still playable.

I'm still considering buying the new Ratchet and Clank because I haven't played one of the main console games since the first one so the formula probably isn't overdone to me yet.

I told them how I want a Boston terrier or French bulldog and name them spunky. They freaked out because they want a Boston terrier and rockos modern life was their favorite childhood cartoon too.
