Currently reading.

So far it feels like a more ~mature~ and ~adult~ Hunger Games. It hasn't really done anything to turn any YA dystopian sci-fi tropes on their heads yet, but it's fun and has (slightly) better prose than The Hunger Games. At least the Evil Regime™ spans the entire solar system in this, so that gives it a bit of novelty. Said Evil Regime™ feel like caricatures at this point a la The Hunger Games. But I'm still fairly early, so we'll see if they become more complex.

I'm kinda that way with Computer Science. I can code but damn it do I hate math. Still going for that degree though.

I don't like Star Wars. I think it's a shitty universe.

But Star Wars led to the making of Alien and Aliens. so I respect it for that.

This is an important character in a major videogame production.

I'm all for boobies, but that is just stupid and detrimental. I don't even know what was Kojima's excuse, but I'm sure it was as stupid as her attire.

lol, plants. Same BS excuse used by Shirow back in the fucking 80's to explain Greenpeace Crolis' (yeah, that's a name) nakedness. Only that we are talking about Dominion, which was zanny by default.

Also, I happen to own the first edition of the P&P Star Wars RPG. It was pretty rad and a great way to start getting into the SWU, although I always were more of a Call of Chthuhuthutlthtutuhthutululuh fan.

Have you ever played Call of Cthuh;ghgjuhfguhj Dark Corners of the Earth?

I tried but gave up. It was fun at the beginning when it's more of an old school adventure game then it plummets off a cliff as soon as you get access to guns and it becomes a terrible FPS.

One of the finest Chthuhuthutlthtutuhthutululuh games ever, although I understand some fans' frustration with the FPS part, even if the lack of a proper UI made shooting very much not recommended for most of the game. The big issue for me is that that alien gun you retrieved near the end was way too OP, which meant you'd get to use it a lot instead of hiding in the shadows. If it serves of something, the end sequence wasn't action-y at all and made it for that lesser parts of the game big time.

The Insmouth levels were fucking insane, though. The escape from the hotel gives me palpitations to this day.

I think it's worth mentioning that the dev crashed and burned before getting the game 100% done, so one of their devs took to himself to fix its countless bugs. I'm sure the final product would have been much better if they didn't have to rush it out of the door, as the original design document included a whole heap of horror elements that didn't make it to the game.

Yeah, the escape from the hotel was masterfully done. Maybe I'll try and slog through the rest at some point. I love the universe and the atmosphere but I really can't deal with those FPS controls.

The thing is, the devs wanted the avoid gamers turning the game into a CoD slugfest, so they made gun controls somewhat realistic by avoiding reticules and a proper HUD. Many folks would still try to blast their path away with subpar shooting mechanics instead of using stealth, however, which led to tons of frustration.

The game REALLY turns into a shooter in The Air Filled Tunnels, tho. And you can't help that by ignoring the guns. You actually need them to finish the game.
